Unfortunately I had a far different experience than the other reviewer. So we had water damage in our kitchen and living room so needed new flooring in both. The living room carpet was taken care of without a hitch. The kitchen was a whole other story.
We visited Brinker's, they had a great selection. We picked out a laminate click together flooring that they told us how great a product it was. They came and installed it, it looked great, we were happy. A couple weeks later the flooring started coming apart showing significant gaps in between planks. Not necessarily Bob's fault, could be a product issue right? They came and looked at it, plus he had also called the company that makes that brand. Bob confidently said to my face that they told him he should glue down the outside of the flooring so it doesn't shift again. I called the company myself, explained the floor was shifting and making gaps, asked if they would recommend gluing it around the perimeter. The guy said, that's funny, he just had a guy calling about this exact question! He said gluing would never be suggested. That this is a floating floor, it should never ever be glued down or anchored in any way because that will cause buckling from contraction and expansion. Hmmm... would appear someone had boldly lied to my face? I would also like to mention that the man on the phone with the flooring brand also asked how it was installed. I told him the guy used a hammer to click the planks together. He then informed me that it only takes just your hands to snap them together and that some board ridges were probably busted from the hammer use, a hammer was not necessary.
Anyway, after we got the idea of gluing the floor put to rest, we were told that Bob said he would get all new flooring and redo our kitchen floor. However when the installation guy showed up, it turns out he was only provided with 2 boxes of new flooring, and he was expected to use old and new flooring together! Go figure, that only about a week later our flooring was separating again! I wonder if it's because someone thought using older busted flooring together with the new would somehow work? Brilliant.
After this whole fiasco, we weren't going to give Brinker's another chance. We used a different flooring company, they did an amazing job the first time around. Plus they found a couple places where Brinker's had anchored our floating floor to the subfloor, which would have inevitably caused more issues down the road.
Sorry for the long review. I doubt this is a normal occurrence for Brinker's, no honest person could stay in business if it was! Hope you have better luck than we did. read more
