    Bean and cheese Pupusas

Delicious pupusas! I got there right before they closed and ordered 2 bean and cheese pupusas to go. I didn't get a look at the inside, but service was very friendly and my pupusas were great. They gave me plenty of Curtido, a side of salsa and one red sauce.

The pupusas are pretty good here. I had the cheese and pork pupusas for $8 maybe and they were fun to try. This spot is in the Tendernob and it's got a full menu. It says Salvadorean food. If the Salvadoreans admitted they eat pupusas or forgot to tell me.

I've tried the "Regular" ($8.99) burrito, the "Super" ($9.99) burrito, and two cheese pupusas ($7.50 for two). The "regular" burrito was a little dry. The Super burrito was good. The pupusas were fantastic! Why 4 stars? there was an extra $0.25 charge on my electronic Square receipt, which just says "custom".

Really enjoyed the food here! Ordered papusas with beans and cheese as well as guacamole and chips. Tasted great and there were plenty of options on the menu that all looked yummy!

This is one of those under-the-radar Mexican-Salvadorean restaurants peppering our ethnically diverse city, and I keep stumbling upon them. OK, 'stumbling' is not the right word because I'm always seeking out menudo. My tripe obsession needs to stop, but I continue on my quest in the wilds of the Tenderloin. OK, it's not that wild on this stretch of Larkin, just a little gamey if you know what I mean. Funny thing is I've discovered all sorts of meals in the vicinity - Little Henry's Italian Food, Aria Korean American Snack Bar, Yemeni's - not all great but interesting culinary adventures. Anyway, I came here with the hope of menudo, but alas, it was not meant to be as I was there on a Monday evening, and they weren't willing to gather some bone scraps for me. Instead, I went for the large $8.99 bowl of Caldo de Res, beef soup to all you monolingual peons, and while not quite as chewy as a satisfying bowl of menudo, it came close with big chunks of tender beef and vegetables (including chayote) treading in a hearty broth (photo: http://bit.ly/17wJ3j5). It was deliciously rural, especially with a stack of warm tortillas (photo: http://bit.ly/16TEL3e). I made a futile attempt at putting together makeshift beef tacos, but the back splash was too much for my shirt to bear. Thinking the soup was not going to be enough, I also ordered a couple of the $4.99 Carnitas Soft Tacos, which were liberally topped with chunks of roast pork, chopped onion and cilantro (photo: http://bit.ly/1bVbACq). Good but not quite as good as the soup, and frankly I was getting filled up at that point. The service was a bit spotty as it took quite a while before they recognized I was going to be a paying customer. Oh well, I'll shout next time like the snaggle-toothed guy with the shopping cart outside. FOOD - 4 stars...the beef soup is great on a wintry evening, the carnitas tacos just pretty good AMBIANCE - 3 stars...typical Tenderloin diner set-up SERVICE - 3 stars...slow at first but picked up once the food came TOTAL - 4 stars...I'll probably come back for the menudo...I can't help myself

I had a breakfast burrito and it was nothing really special. It was kind of small and greasy at the end.

I ordered the carnitas burrito and my husband ordered the carne asada one. We also asked the guys for a salsa picante and their house made one delivered! The ingredients were tasty, well seasoned and fresh. Service is quick, food and ambiance are no frills and cash only. I think about this burrito daily and am willing to travel across the country to get it again. Not to mention, but this is a Mission style burrito in the Mission! This is the only way to do it and I now totally understand the hype.

A few people were already in there eating, and we know this place is good, as a few others in our group and I have been here multiple times. The Taqueria is typical of any other, with bench-style chairs for folks to sit on, a water station, and workers cooking it up in the kitchen. I wasn't too hungry, so I grabbed a Super Lengua Taco, while my friends grabbed burritos, we ended up grabbing 3 complimentary chips and guac/salsa with our order and the food came out pretty quickly. When I saw my Taco I forgot how much they stuffed it and wow, two of these would've filled me up just like a taco; there was so much Lengua that it kept falling off after every bite. The flavors all came together and I scruffed down the whole thing after about 6+ bites! Definitely a place to come to if you're looking for a full meal, or something to snack on!

Definitely the best burrito spot in the city 10 out of 10 we did the Carne Asada with chips and…read moresalsa which was very fresh. The line was quite long wrapped around the block but took about 25 minutes because people come here sit down and they eat and leave pretty quickly because the lines are long. The ambience is very nice. It's like I walked into a Hispanic home. The staff here are very friendly, but please make sure you accommodate because there is a lot of people waiting in line so I'm not saying eat your food fast and leave. There is benches and tables which make it feel like you walked into a Hispanic home as well. The Strawberry Horchata and mango Agua Fresca is really good 10 out of 10.

Beware!!! I need to…read morewarn people about this because I only found out AFTER asking questions myself. This place is famous for their burritos and especially the "Dorado style," which tastes amazing -- BUT what they don't clearly disclose anywhere is that the Dorado style burrito is cooked in pork lard unless you specifically ask for it "dry" or with vegetable oil. As someone who does not eat pork for religious reasons, finding that out after already eating there was honestly really upsetting. And the frustrating part is that there is NO clear sign or disclosure telling customers this. If I never asked, I would have had no idea. I actually still like this spot and appreciate that they at least offer a dry/vegetable oil option if you ask, but customers should not have to investigate ingredients themselves to avoid pork. Jewish, Muslim, vegetarian, and other customers deserve transparency. A simple sign or note on the menu saying that Dorado style is prepared with pork lard by default would solve this issue completely. Great food, but this absolutely needs to be disclosed better. One of my all time favorite spots in general.
