Lovely choices of gelato. No AC indoor so it would feel a bit warm. Would be great if they offer outdoor seating in the future.

They have a fantastic range, and the lady in the shop was perfectly happy to chat and let us try samples and tell us all about the different cheeses. They also have a little offcuts basket, so if you want to buy little pieces for 75p a go, you can take small pieces of cheese instead. It's a hidden gem - my partner and I have now started a cheese fund so we can treat ourselves here every now and then!

Of course we stopped to look, being from Wisconsin, and they looked up, smiled at us, then went on their way working. On the way back past the store, we had a go in! It's tiny, separated by a plastic curtain into a refrigerated area holding hundreds of varieties of European cheeses. Since we typically stop in the afternoon for a cheese snack, we thought we would buy some and take them back to the flat. We chose a Shropshire blue, Emmental from Switzerland and a soft cheese from France. The store was spotless, these ladies were very accommodating and knowledgeable and for 12 Bucks bought enough for a few days. The recommendations were excellent. This store is highly recommended on your trip to London.

Yuuuuum -- tastes like Christmas! In an interesting development that is very unlike me, my body has gone on a veritable food strike, and I've not been able to force myself to eat more than a bowl of Special K the last two days. Notice, I said "food" detox... not booze. To my glee, apparently I still have the green light there. That's where Jeroboams comes in. Their flagship shop is right down the street from my f-f-f-f-rrrrrrrrrr-EEEEEzing flat, and there's nothing like a glass of spicy red to warm me up and make me forget about all my lovelies I left on the other side of the pond. They carry some ridiculous numbers of wine (if I had to guess, I say approximately eleventy billion.) And their selection of wines from all over the world, within anyone's price range, is truly fantastic. Cheers! *Note... this review would make my D.A.R.E. instructor cry. Sorry Officer Oliver. I promise I still wear my t-shirt to bed. Albeit, the room may be spinning when I get there...

They even have the fanciest gift boxes you've ever seen outside of Fortnum & Mason. Despite once having been solely a chocolate shop, the interior gives off some posh vibes that invite you to stay awhile. Weather permitting, they also have outdoor seating for some ultimate people-watching. The coffee itself could use some improvement, but overall, it isn't terrible. They serve it with a side of chocolates, so you could chew on the sweet merchandise to cut through the bitterness of the overly-roasted java. Service isn't always the fastest if you're sitting down to eat or drink, but it's more of a "come in and stay awhile" kind of place, anyway. If you are coming in to stay a while, however, expect to pay a lot more than the price of your coffee. My £3.60 oat flat white somehow turned into £6.36 when I got my bill. Considering everything you're getting in one stop, as well as the touristy area it's in, however, you could do worse. They even have a washroom, which - if you're familiar with this part of town - can be a Godsend.

Tip: You must visit this food hall. It's awesome!…read more You know what? When there's a listing for a department store food hall, you know that it's good. No, not good. Fantastic! I was at this food hall in December 2013. It's located on the ground floor of this large department store. The displays are extremely fancy and captivating. I recall seeing mini cakes that looked yummy. Even the fruit in the display case, as in apples, pears, and more, looked amazing and in pristine condition. The pastries looked scrumptious. I could smell the croissants! You can get sandwiches, from egg salad to lobster rolls. Feel like steak and chips? Yep, you can get them here, too. I frankly couldn't tell you what you can't get here. I felt like a dream seeing so much good food, but it wasn't. It's definitely worth a visit, whether you end up browsing like me because the prices were steep or you end up splurging. There was a wine section that had shiny bottles of fancy wine varieties. You could get cheese to complement your wine. Everything in this store looked beautiful and elegant. I would do a few things differently when I return to this food hall: - I'd do afternoon tea. I'd actually splurge to experience tea here because I didn't realize that I could until after my Harrods visit. - I'd find a hotel room with a fridge, so I could bring back pastries, macarons, sandwiches, and more. - I'd dine here to experience the entire food hall experience instead of dining at a restaurant within Harrods. The more I reminisce about where I've been in London, I want to return! (55)

Normally I wouldn't buy bottled water, but I couldn't resist -- this water was so pretty and looked so refreshing, with pieces of fruit in it. (We bought one with cucumber and one with bright pink dragon fruit.) For two sandwiches and two bottles of water, it came to £28.50. Not particularly inexpensive with the currency conversion (ouch!) but much cheaper than going out for lunch. Also, the sandwiches were delicious! It's a shame that we couldn't find the food hall when we had first visited Harrods two days prior. [Yelp collections: Europe 2024; London, England]
