"The reason for the non-renewal is just basic claim activity. I know there's two claims in 2022 neither of them out any amount, but we're looking at frequency here, so they still count as two homeowners' claims, you know within the past year or so. So, the underwriting team has decided to non-renew the homeowner's policy, you have until June 29th." I was a bit confused because this was the only two inquiries since 2017 when we started our policy coverage. I called the Washington Insurance Commission to help me understand what just happened. The representative was very helpful. She explained that when you have a question to see if something is covered, do not go to your Home Insurance first, ask the Insurance commission. Some insurance companies base renewability on activity not just claims and State Farm is one of them. The representative advised I might consider a brokerage to solve the issue I'm in right now.
