I got "The Koy" which is a rice bowl with a choice of 1 meat, coleslaw, and a creamy siracha dressing. I already want to order it again, it was so good. My wife got "The Gomer" which is a little more what you'd expect for BBQ, a meat choice + coleslaw and topped over mac n cheese. It was also super good. Thanks so much for coming out to Monroe, Lloyd's! You are welcome anytime! Better than basically any of the other local BBQ joints by far.

The calendar is on the web page. But why chase bad BBQ. This wood pellet (Traeger) grill smoked BBQ is dry. The smoke flavor is light to the point of being almost non-existent. The rub is okay, but when a brisket is this dry it's just not worth eating. The other meats are okay. The pork is probably the best thing, and it's just good not great. The ribs were okay too. The sides are about the only reason this has two stars instead of one. The mac and cheese is tasty and well made. The beans are good. Look, I don't write any reviews less than three stars and few less than four stars unless I have visited a place multiple times. Any place can have an off day, and I hate giving lower reviews to small businesses. But this is just NOT good BBQ. And, yes, I know a bit about BBQ, with deep roots in Texas, North Carolina, Georgia, and Italy. I've cooked many briskets. Many. With wood. Cooked many pork butts and ribs. Tons. And so has my family (I have two relatives in the Dallas area who cater BBQ). So, this is not an area where I have no experience. Oh, and don't snicker at Italy in the list. How did your whole goat cooked in a dirt pit turn out? How about that whole pig you cooked? Yeah. Thought so. Sorry, Lloyd's. This is not great stuff. Dang. I wish it were.

She is kind, understanding, quick to respond, and skilled at her job. Planning: Angie helped us save money and stick to our budget by helping us find high-quality vendors that fit the size and shape of our wedding. She is responsive and patient when handling the many logistics of hiring vendors- and so well-established that we were able to get discounts through her relationships with those vendors! Whenever we told other wedding workers that we were working with Angie, you could tell they were relieved, because they knew Angie would have it all taken care of! We got to focus on the fun stuff, because we knew Angie had our backs- this is exactly the planning experience we were looking for. Flexibility: We changed our mind on vendors, added on services for rehearsal dinner planning, and through it all Angie was so supportive in our decisions. She really listened and offered her expert opinion when she felt it was necessary. Rehearsal dinner: Especially for wrangling our families into doing the actual rehearsing, Angie did an amazing job! She thought of so many logistics for the ceremony that we didn't have to worry about because she was there. Day of Ceremony and Reception: Everything went so smoothly because of her work! She received all the deliveries (flowers, catering, cake, decorations, rentals, photobooth, DJ equipment) and helped problem solve any issues, while I relaxed in the bridal suite! Worth every penny and was a joy to work with. Cannot recommend more highly.

She knows a lot of vendors in the area, and was able to get us deals that we could not get on our own. She did all of the research and presented us with 2-3 options for each vendor that fit both our preferences and budget, so all of the stress was taken out of wedding planning. She also helps create a budget at the very beginning and helps you stick to that budget. She also creates very detailed timelines and makes sure the day of goes very smoothly. My wedding day was very calm/ stress free which is all because of her. I was engaged for two years (during Covid) and she replanned the wedding once and completely downsized it another time. Angie handled the entire thing - she basically planned 3 weddings for us. She really is so incredible - I cannot recommend her enough. My wedding day was absolutely perfect and it's all because of her

It's a clean, modern, and pleasant facility with high ceilings, tastefully decorated with artwork. I've never hosted an event in the Pollard (so I don't know their staff are to work with), but I've attended plenty of events there, ranging from technical seminars to fund-raising galas. I've never attended a wedding there, but they do accommodate weddings, too. One attractive feature (probably because it's part of an educational and research organization, and not associated with a hotel or restaurant) is that event sponsors can save money on food and drink by bringing it in themselves or choosing a caterer to hire.
