The stage that was hidden behind the movie screen for many years has been exposed once again and is used for concerts and other performances. It's not exactly Carnegie Hall, but the acoustics seem to be OK, the refurbished seats are fairly comfortable -- and there are plenty of them (several hundred -- I'm not sure how many the auditorium holds), and the spacious lobby is a good place for mingling during intermission.

My four nights have been excellent. Great customer service, my room was ready when I arrived on Monday. I was comfortable and slept very well all week. We had a little excitement this afternoon when a power outage hit the area. Blackout generators kicked in to run the AC and lights. However, no internet. The outage lasted a couple of hours. I also love the close proximity to restaurants, coffee shops and shopping stores in the area. Everything I need is right here. Enjoyed my stay and will stay here again if I ever return to Y-12.

I have never experienced a hotel that charges a penalty if you end your job early and check out early. I will be posting this negative review on various review sites as this will probably not be allowed to be posted on Marriott's website or this hotel's website. This is a smaller theater with less screens, but the amazing seating is an appreciated surprise in this smaller city. The lobby is still a bit outdated but they make up for it in the actual theater spaces. There are pleather, electric reclining seats that have cushy seats and armrests and have the spacious stadium seat setup that makes no head large enough to block your view (and good for distancing, if that's a consideration for you). This was the perfect spot to bring my kids for their first movie theater experience. The armrests move upward if you need some cuddle action with your kids or your honey. :-) Check online to see how many people have purchased tickets, pick your own seats for purchase, and definitely check out the discounted tickets on Tuesdays.

I will be first to say this place when we pulled in I doubted we would enjoy it. I saw a lot of…read morelittle kids and we had a 2nd grader with us. I guess I am spoiled with a hometown children's museum of play.. I am so glad we went in to give it a chance, the employees here are wonderful. Very welcoming. The exhibits are diverse and many hands on touch this or that ability. There were some dated videos of the Appalachian culture but honestly it gave it an appeal and definitely a time gone by. The exhibits and explanation of the Manhattan project were very interesting. All of us walked away learning a lot about oak ridge and that era around world war 2. We spent a good two hours in the museum and didn't read it all, we happened to be walking in right before a school group of 30 little kids and parents. Initially it was loud but there was enough space that we didn't have to be around all the chaos real little kids bring. Some of the exhibits were geared for smaller kids but our 2nd grader had no problem enjoying the experience. I mean who doesn't love a "doll house" that has two levels, For the price and exhibits I would suggest it to anyone especially if you have a history buff in your family.

When we arrived, we parked in the free and easy lot and were greeted immediately. We saw that masks as of 10/15/21 are still required within the museum (and everyone we saw was properly wearing one, both kids and adults). After paying and being given a map, we began to explore, my kids initially complaining that they were bored (ugh.). We had begun with the cultural and historical exhibits, which showed cultural elements of different countries and a section on Appalachia, complete with replicas of log cabins and interactive screens showing the lifestyle. After we left this section, the kids perked up and really enjoyed the farm store/sorting produce, the fish aquarium, the outer space room with rocket, and the microscope to view differing hair follicles. We didn't realize we went upstairs to the bathrooms that we hadn't even seen half of the museum at that point! SO many things to explore, such as a water room with a flowing water track and boats, info on origins of Secret City, Girl Scout info, music room, rain forest, a bird's nest room, puppet room (not currently interactive due to COVID), and my kiddo's favorites: the model railroad area with working train tracks, and the kid/life size doll house room. We closed out the museum and were the last people there. Not the biggest or most interactive museum we have been to, but we still enjoyed it and are thrilled that it is close to home. We ended up buying a family membership before we left, which only cost $90 for a full year. If you buy same-day, you can roll in the entry fee you already paid toward the membership cost. And don't forget to stop by the city park next door when you're done. It's a good one and has a great hill to roll down.

There were some savory lunch-esque selections (like shrimp and grits and burgers), for those who prefer lunch food over breakfast. It was a bit of a bummer that the brunch menu is limited, somewhat pricey, and does not have a kids menu (which is what we saw online and why we came with 3 kids). We were seated right away and the staff was very kind. It definitely seemed like they were ironing out some new-biz kinks with service. There were long waits for drinks, and we asked three times for a wine/drink list. The mimosas we ordered were good but the sangria was not something any of us enjoyed (not served with any fruit or fruit flavor). We would stick to mimosas or try wine next time. Now for the food! For the kids, we ended up ordering french toast to split between them and added bacon and egg sides. They really enjoyed this! Also enjoyed was the juicy burger, and the cheesy grits. The shrimp was a bit overcooked and tail-on, which is so dang messy to pick off in a gooey sauce and grits mixture. My Dad liked his benedict but wished it was served on a muffin instead of biscuit, as the biscuit was soaked through and soggy instead of a "vessel" to hold the meat and egg. Really yummy sauce and perfectly cooked egg, though! We all enjoyed the diced potatoes, too. Looking forward to coming back for live music and for either the lunch or dinner menu! There is also a small outdoor seating area for when the weather is nice.
