I booked a seat at the concert of Graham Nash, which I was looking forward to. Alas, I am having foot surgery about 2 weeks before the concert. The Bijou has a ZERO refund policy, I called to find out what I could do. Ticketmaster would not let me sell the ticket online because of this policy. I talked to a sweet young lady who said she would see what she could do. Not an hour later, she called me back with the good news. Because this was not an issue I had any control over, being confined to my home for the recuperating period, they granted me the refund for my ticket! I cannot believe the generosity of this venue. They went above and beyond the capabilities of their policy to grant me the refund. so, THANK YOU BIJOU!

This is a smaller theater with less screens, but the amazing seating is an appreciated surprise in this smaller city. The lobby is still a bit outdated but they make up for it in the actual theater spaces. There are pleather, electric reclining seats that have cushy seats and armrests and have the spacious stadium seat setup that makes no head large enough to block your view (and good for distancing, if that's a consideration for you). This was the perfect spot to bring my kids for their first movie theater experience. The armrests move upward if you need some cuddle action with your kids or your honey. :-) Check online to see how many people have purchased tickets, pick your own seats for purchase, and definitely check out the discounted tickets on Tuesdays.

The building was big enough for our 160 guests to be inside, so no worries about rain or bad weather. The AC worked fine on a hot July afternoon. There was sufficient parking. The building included a nice food prep area that the caterer used to stage and serve the food and drinks. Haley was easy to work with. She arranged security and helped me find reasonable wedding insurance. Our reception went fine with no problems. Several guests complimented the venue. Would definitely recommend.

Sunsphere Events staff (specifically the owners and operators) were extremely rude to us and our family on our wedding day, but also neglected to set up a third of the tables and chairs we'd requested and they had approved. A third of our guests had to stand through dinner and while everyone remained in good spirits, this is very frustrating from our perspective. We even had some guests who left before dinner because they couldn't find seats. In follow-up emails they've been untruthful to us in order to cover up their mistakes, and they also claim they were not rude when we had everyone who interacted with them directly tell us otherwise. It's incredibly frustrating to have an otherwise perfect day marred by such an incompetent and gross company. I would absolutely recommend having your event at the Sunsphere, just wait until a different company is running the venue.

It was convenient that we could play our own music over the speakers. They provided a microphone so we were able to conduct a rousing game of trivia. They set up a Christmas tree for us, and the lights reflecting off the windows created a beautiful ambiance. Cons: The event staff advertises the 6th floor as capable of accommodating as many as 150 seated guests. My group contained about 140 seated guests, and space was tight. On a related note, several members of my group complained about the availability of the restrooms. (I didn't see it myself, but I heard that there was only one stall for men and one for women.) Taking all of this into account, I'd say that this floor should probably be capped at 100 seated guests. When I arrived an hour before the event to take care of any last minute details, everything was supposed to be set up, but due to some internal staff miscommunication, it wasn't. I helped them set up the tables and chairs for the better part of an hour. They had another holiday party going on at the same time on the 8th floor, which divided the attention of the Sunsphere staff and also limited the availability of the elevators. The table linens they provided weren't clean on either side, and the chairs and chair cushions could definitely benefit from an upgrade. Also, this is more of a personal issue, but the event staff directed me to park in the fire lane to unload the party supplies, and while I was parked there, I got a ticket. This is a pretty mixed review, which is representative of my group's reactions to this venue, but my overall impression was negative, especially since no one on staff followed up with me after the event to ensure satisfaction. With a few tweaks, this experience could have been a lot better.

They give us free birthday shots (yay!) to ease the pain. by 9:30, we still aren't in our space and they haven't had the previous group leave. We had already paid for our room but had to be home by 10:15 for our babysitter to leave. By the time we got in our room, we could only sing 3 songs before we had to take off. Bummer. We would like to come back and support local, fun businesses, however, they need far stricter reservation times for starting/stopping. This may impact when we come back, since we are usually on a tight schedule. Fun concept and location (the old Landing House location-a legit house in South Knox). If they iron out the kinks, this will be amazing.

There's something so novel about using your lunch break to listen to live jazz! So much fun. It is convenient to eat at cafe 4, then come to the back to see a show. You can get into the square room by the back door, or to go through the restaurant, by walking past the kitchen.
