I believe there's a branch in Bishopsgate, but I prefer the Kings Road establishment. Nowhere else in the footwear world have I found such an elegant juxtaposition of form and function. Mr Sweeney designs and makes supremely good-looking shoes that just happen to swathe your feet in perfect comfort.
As with the friend of my fellow reviewer (above) I find myself with five pairs of these things, and I dearly belove them. Great for casualness. Perfect with suits. You could probably wear them swimming and be the best-dressed chap on the waterslide, but I haven't given that a go yet.
A word to the wise: at full price, they're about £250 a pair and upwards. So go at sale time or keep an eye out for the sample sales: they usually do one or two a year. For good shoes, I genuinely wouldn't shop anywhere else. Prada and Gucci? You can keep them. read more
