A bespoke pair of shoes takes over 100 hours of labour to make and will cost a commensurate amount. But, they also do an excellent bench made and ready to wear range. The store also has a fantastic selection of leather goods, including some exquisite backgammon boards. Whereas other shoe makers in town (Church, Lobb etc.) are good - they have all been taken over by fashion houses like Prada and Hermes, so they're effectively just branding. Foster's IMHO still maintains the traditional craft and workmanship that British shoes are famous for all over the world. If you ask you can still go upstairs and see their in-house staff working on shoes in the traditional way.

My experience was nothing but AMAZING!!. These two guys are extremely helpful, knowledgeable and educational about their products. They were a real pleasure to meet with and to talk to and hearing all the stories about the business and how they started working from ground up in the family. We ended up picking out some shoes, ended up with nine pairs of shoes!!! The value for the shoes is amazing people don't realize that the value on these shoes is priceless. You're basically purchasing a(Vintage ) time piece. These are vintage shoes from years back. They have been stored for sale..." so if you're complaining about being taken for a price or paying too much money them, you obviously shouldn't be buying these shoes.." because the majority of these shoes are vintage and that's what you're paying for .iIf not, go somewhere else and shop. I was prepared for an exhaustive search but the bloke made his mind up on the Tom style in tan in nearly no time at all. The good news for ladies: I got confirmation today that a number of the men's offerings will be available in women's sizes come fall. I found the store to be too crammed it was hard to walk around the store without approaching a seat for trying shoes on, or a stand - one would argue this is good as it is offering a wider product range, but I surely don't understand why they need to do this - they have multiple floors and don't need to cram everything into a small space as one would expect from a smaller store - they really do need to take hints from Sports Direct nearby who have a reputation for this but the huge nearby flagship store they have nearby is much more modern, spacious and in my opinion makes it a much better place to shop, especially at peak times. The staff seemed rush and struggling even when the store wasn't that busy - it wasn't the staffing levels too which is puzzling, they had enough staff members to cope fine but it didn't seem to work. I'd even say the smaller branch they have is much better and still sells most of the same items you do here and this branch being a huge store in a flagship, key Oxford Street location is a waste. 1*

I explained I was leaving the country that week and was told it would take but a day or two and that I would be notified by phone when my gorgeous shoes were ready. I never received word back and when I called they couldn't find the pair. Eventually they were located but since my flight was the following day I wasn't able to fetch them. Today I returned to the shop with my claim ticket but the shoes were nowhere to be found. Apparently this was the first time they'd seen a pair go missing in 10 years. This did nothing to make me feel better about their carelessness. I received an apology and was invited to pick another pair of shoes. Only problem was, their already limited stock of women's shoes did not include any brogues I liked in my size; same goes for the nearby Burlington Arcade location where I originally bought the now missing shoes. I looked longingly at iPhone photos of the brogues I'd only bought in November and barely worn. In the end, I asked to be refunded my money back on my card. I think it goes without saying that Crockett & Jones need to step up their service level straight away. I'd hate to hear of more hearts being broken like mine.
