I am an attorney, practicing in Canada. I recently ordered a fine pair of English-made Chelsea boots from Shipton online, which order was as seamless and pleasant as they come. On placing my order (which I did initially online, and confirmed same via phone) I found the staff to be very helpful and professional, answering all of my questions as to the particular boots I was interested in (including sizing assistance, to confirm same); the boots which are very well made arrived well packaged and in a timely fashion, and were more stunning in person than on the website. I also understand that they have opened a dedicated sales and order center in the US to better serve professionals and others in the US and Canada who enjoy classic and elegant footwear (as in, proper professional office attire/dress shoes, town boots, and formal evening footwear not made in the Far East). Shipton caters to both men and women, their lines being crafted for them by some of the finest (well known) English shoe and boot makers, and by fine Italian shoe makers, too. It is wonderful to see that quality and value (and top notch customer service) are alive and well at Shipton, who have earned in me a repeat customer.
(Note: as to the Albert slipper, etc. comment from the poster below, yes, I know what they are; while we don't wear them in the North American court system, the "Albert" is worn by our counterparts in the British judicial system and until recently the House of Lords also, and it traces from the reign of Queen Victoria as I recall. Shipton is a fine provider of this footwear which, in addition to their court use, are paired with a tuxedo for formal use (myself, I personally like Shipton's custom made (bespoke) Clan crested slippers idea, thinking, what else to get the Highlander in one's life who otherwise seems to have everything (and connosisseurs who also happen to be "Braveheart" fans are sure to enjoy them, too!). Clever really, and a nice touch (who says tradition can't be fun?).
A wonderful selection does Shipton have, from traditional slippers and formal patent shoes, to modern boots, shoes, loafers, and dashing chukkas, too, which are well made, well priced classics (and classics never go out of style). I am and remain very pleased with my chelsea boots, and with my shopping experience at Shipton all-around. I recommend them very highly. read more
