    Peanut Butter Banana Bread

I visited Oliver Gospel Roastery on a Saturday morning. It wasn't very busy, even with Soda City Market happening right around the corner. The interior had minimal decor, with a separate little room of additional seating. I ordered the Autumn Chai (off their seasonal drink menu) with an extra shot of espresso. It had a tasty spiced flavor, but was too sweet for me, even with the additional espresso shot. Most of the pastries in the display case were from Nibl, and I also got the Peanut Butter Banana Bread. The texture was nice and soft, and I liked the large chocolate chunks. It would probably be even better warmed up, but I don't think this was an option, since it came pre-packaged. Overall, a nice coffee shop, but not my favorite in the area.

Great find near my hotel. I also found out that all proceeds go to the shelter next door, so that's already a win for me. Amazing cold brew, spacious, and totally a place I would camp out at to get work done. Very strong cold brew. I think they could step it up with the pastries. They have limited options and all items were prepackaged separately. Not the best presentation, and they don't look fresh. I got a scone, but it wasn't the best. Staff were super friendly. Street metered parking in the area. I'll totally come back, but they would get more of my money if they better pastry options.

I've been coming here pretty consistently for a year or so. I'll keep it short because it's just a coffee shop: Excellent coffee and excellent message. I've never had anything bad here. A must stop in Cola.

Such a cute little coffee shop in downtown Columbia! They offer a wide variety of drinks for great prices. They also sell muffins and loaves. I got a medium americano (price: 2.50) after an early drive and it was so good! Seeping hot and filled to the top! If you stay to drink your drink definitely choose the comfy chairs! I snoozed for five minutes. The staff was super nice and overall a great experience! (Do note that there isn't a public restroom!)

Stopped here on a road trip, in the midst of downtown Columbia. It was easy to find street parking. We enjoyed their coffee to-go as well as a couple bags of beans. Shout out to my friend Tobi, got the Toby's place for you! We all enjoyed our coffee, each personalized for our palate (me with the cold brew - yum!). The beans brewed well at home, brought me back to memories of our trip. This place has a beautiful mission behind it, so glad my money is supporting a local endeavor to give back to the community.

I was in town for work and found this cute coffee shop near my office. I am familiar with all of the great work The Oliver Gospel Mission does in Columbia, but never knew they had a cafe!! The space is super cute and they even roast their own beans inside. I ordered an iced brown sugar cinnamon latte with oat milk. Fantastic! Definitely coming back to try other drinks next time I'm in town!

Great atmosphere and even better mission. Our group had a s'mores latte, caramel apple cider, fresh lemonade, and cascara tea. The espresso isn't the typical bold flavor profile that you might be expecting, especially if you prefer a coffee franchise. However, they have a great blend of specialty drinks and syrups on the menu. Mix and match flavors to make a drink that fits your typical order. A little disappointed they served loaves without fishes, but we were able to forgive the mishap. ;)

Deeeeelicious and the ministry this is based on makes the whole experience an enjoyable one! The staff is knowledgeable and as warm as the lattes. They roast the beans in house, so it smells glorious. Just go- you will thank me later. It made my tummy smile... I'll definitely be back. P.S. try the turtle brownie

Great coffee that is helping a good cause. They are the OG (Oliver Gospel) of coffee. Don't forget to pick up a coffee card while you are there.

Decent coffee. My drink was only 3/4 full when I got it. They also forgot about my pastry. Customer service was not too great

They were all so sweet and really went above and beyond to make sure it was a high-quality experience. I noticed that they openly advertise that they don't accept tips and have slightly higher prices in order to pay their workers a living wage, and the results were directly reflected in the customer service that I received. As for the food and drink (coffee), that was pretty good as well! While I do wish that they might have had bagels, the croissant that I substituted it for was warm, buttery, and tasty, and it was a nice change from my usual coffee shop meal, as I've only had a croissant a handful of times. The coffee was fine, and I loved how they offered free refills, which I've noticed that other local coffee shops usually don't. Finally, I loved the setting of the restaurant, which gave you the opportunity to either sit inside and enjoy the ambiance or on the outside patio and enjoy some peace and quiet. I also loved the artwork that they had on the walls, which the waitress informed me was painted by a local artist and which you could purchase if you wanted to. All-in-all, I loved smallSUGAR, will be back in the future, and would highly recommend stopping in!

Service was fine. Nothing particularly standout, but smooth and efficient. For drinks, the coffee was average. It wasn't bad by any means, just nothing memorable. Especially considering the price point. Food-wise, there were some highlights. The sweet potato bowl was well-dressed and flavorful, though it felt like it was missing a protein component to make it more complete. The shakshuka was very good overall, with great flavor, though it leaned a bit salty. The biggest issue was the bread portion. It simply wasn't enough for the dish. I ended up ordering an extra side, and while it's listed as two slices, it's really just one slice cut in half. At $4 for that portion, that is very unreasonable. That was a recurring theme. Pricing felt high across the board for what you receive. While the flavors were there, nothing really stood out as exceptional enough to justify the cost. Overall, not a bad visit. Just one where the value didn't quite match the experience.
