I know I'm going to look like a meanie but the carrot cake was so dry, it made me sad. I'll be back to try some other items, you can't judge based on one visit. Service was awesome, super friendly and attentive, cute dessert spot

Fun place to go for after dinner desserts and drinks. Large selection of cakes and pies, brownie sundae is to die for and I'm a fan of the Irish Coffee which they'll make decaf.

As a first time guest, the experience was ok. I am big on desserts and this spot was ok, but it just didn't have that WOW factor for me. I had a Hot Chocolate with Mint that was low lukewarm and the Red Velvet Cake. The cake would have been better if it was served warm or even room temperature. It was cold, probably because they are in a cooler. It just gave it that "Store Bought" taste.. The atmosphere was good and pleasant. The waiter was pleasant and knowledgeable. He offered good recommendations. We will try it again in the near future.

It's a cute place to go and have beverages and pastries. The service was good and the place was pretty busy on a Friday evening. The desserts were just okay. I hoped to be blown away but wasn't. The coffee drink was not enjoyable.

Smells so horrible when you walk in, like mold almost. Service is so slow, ice cream is very cheap tasting ( almost like walmart or food lions ) WHATEVER YOU DO DO NOT GET THE NEW DIRTY SODAS!! They separate almost immediately. Had no taste. Took 30+ min to revive our check. I do not recommend ultimately if your looking for a cute desert bar if your looking for a very long wait and a sitting area sure! Gave water to the table water is not clean.. Neither was the glasses. pls save your money everything is over 5$!!!

Stop in after dinner because we saw the line of people waiting to get in. Conveniently located off of Gervais street. We ordered the key lime pie, red velvet cake, and a chai tea latte. The take out spot is crowded and seating is limited but your order comes out fast. The chai tea was delicious and made with love. The red velvet cake was okay, it lacked that southern richness and taste. The key lime pie was good.

This was an experience that I have never had before. A dessert bar for starters but one that is truly authentic about serving dessert and coffee. A safe place to meet on first dates, friends, family. Listen to great music enjoy dessert with coffee or even a little liquor if you want. It's truly unique and I hope the continue to do well. Go check them out. You'll love the vibe. Staff is super nice as well

Super cute dessert restaurant. Full bar. Perfect for a date, friends get together and place to bring your (well behaved) child. Fun ambience, great service. Son had the kids sundae, husband had a mega slice of chocolate cake and I had the bananas fosters Manhattan . Sweet and strong. Definitely recommend coming here for a post dinner treat

The service was great. If it's your first visit, make sure you look at all the cakes in the display case before being seated. Otherwise you'll have to get up later to see the options available to order. I did not know this the first time I visited. However, now I know what to expect. I still think a menu would be helpful, even with the daily rotating cake selection. This is a good place to go after dinner to have desert or just a drink. There is plenty of room for groups. There's actually an extra room/building for additional seating.

Cute place in a great place. You can grab dessert or a coffee/glass of wine or a boozy coffee or milkshake. A nice quiet place to chat as well where they don't rush you out.

Servers were efficient, friendly and accommodating. We came in after a long, difficult day and needed a treat. Kaminsky's serves it! We had coffee drinks (the server checked for us first to make sure the coffee was not dark or French toast, which we avoid), key lime pie (luscious), and a warm fudge-y brownie (my second favorite ever, after Companion Bakeshop in Santa Cruz) with vanilla bean ice cream. It was so rich we couldn't finish it but enjoyed the bites we could eat! Wish we lived here so we could return often!

Great dessert establishment that serves a variety of cakes, coffees, and a limited selection of icecream. They are more known for their cake selection and I highly recommend their NY Cheese cake and carrot cake. The cream cheese icing on the carrot cake isn't too overwhelming and the portion size is huge. My favorite dessert here though is the cobbler. Flavors change pending season but typically they have the peach and mixed berry cobbler. I think the peach is better and getting a scoop of vanilla icecream on top really gets different flavors going while getting some hot/cold all in one bite. I wish they had more icecream flavors to choose from. Only having vanilla really limits options, so when you order the strawberry milkshake, it's not real strawberry but the syrup blended into vanilla icecream. Seating can be limited despite having 3 rooms to cater to customers, especially on the weekends. They are open late till 1am on Friday and Saturday which gives flexibility to grab dessert post late dinner. Parking is terrible; street parking only. Overall, staff have always been kind and helpful. Great place to swing by to grab some desserts and socialize.

They were all so sweet and really went above and beyond to make sure it was a high-quality experience. I noticed that they openly advertise that they don't accept tips and have slightly higher prices in order to pay their workers a living wage, and the results were directly reflected in the customer service that I received. As for the food and drink (coffee), that was pretty good as well! While I do wish that they might have had bagels, the croissant that I substituted it for was warm, buttery, and tasty, and it was a nice change from my usual coffee shop meal, as I've only had a croissant a handful of times. The coffee was fine, and I loved how they offered free refills, which I've noticed that other local coffee shops usually don't. Finally, I loved the setting of the restaurant, which gave you the opportunity to either sit inside and enjoy the ambiance or on the outside patio and enjoy some peace and quiet. I also loved the artwork that they had on the walls, which the waitress informed me was painted by a local artist and which you could purchase if you wanted to. All-in-all, I loved smallSUGAR, will be back in the future, and would highly recommend stopping in!

Service was fine. Nothing particularly standout, but smooth and efficient. For drinks, the coffee was average. It wasn't bad by any means, just nothing memorable. Especially considering the price point. Food-wise, there were some highlights. The sweet potato bowl was well-dressed and flavorful, though it felt like it was missing a protein component to make it more complete. The shakshuka was very good overall, with great flavor, though it leaned a bit salty. The biggest issue was the bread portion. It simply wasn't enough for the dish. I ended up ordering an extra side, and while it's listed as two slices, it's really just one slice cut in half. At $4 for that portion, that is very unreasonable. That was a recurring theme. Pricing felt high across the board for what you receive. While the flavors were there, nothing really stood out as exceptional enough to justify the cost. Overall, not a bad visit. Just one where the value didn't quite match the experience.
