Food is authentic. I would say the best middle Eastern around for Meze. This is not a full service restaurant. I loved it way better when the old owner had it for 40 years. He sold it around a year ago. Prices went up (like everywhere to be fair) and fewer items to choose from. I used to love their meats. They seem chewy and old lately. Not the same quality. So not sure if they changed farms. People are nice Most herbs etc since are from abroad they do not have the fillers and bad stuff the US herbs have it's like growing your own and dried. Worth a visit but the meats I will not buy there anymore. As for cleanliness from the health dept. It's def cleaner than most places. read more

This store is a MUST visit! No passport needed. It truly is an exotic mecca (no pun intended) of Middle Eastern and Mediterranean foods, breads, desserts and sweets, and they have a meat and produce section as well. Their shawarma (beef or chicken) sandwiches are 'to die for', they are so tasty (and healthy for you)! You can easily spend an hour in here just browsing their excellent selection. I just tried some kind of chewy nut dessert that smelled like a rose, and probably contained some kind of edible rose petals! They have a circular shaped sweet bread called 'Maeruk' which is incredible (has a cinnamon and nutmeg paste inside)! Lastly, the employees are very friendly and welcoming. read more

The meat is not fresh. I bought chicken breast from them, I grilled it within an hour of purchase. It was rubbery and crunchy. No one ate it, I had to throw it away. I called them the next day, but they completely ignored my complaint. They told me that I should not store meat, and that no one else complained about it. Ironically, they simply assumed that I was asking for a refund. I made it clear to them that I was not asking for money, and as a meat grocer they should know what they are selling. No apologies from them. I looked up online, and found out that such meat is cheap, and stores sell it as ground chicken. read more

One of my favorite middle eastern stores to shop at in the North Olmstead area. Always friendly, and the quality of food here is great and fresh...I have to question the validity of some of the accusations of food quality in some of the other reviews (considering that upon some of my research I noticed one of the bad reviews was linked to extremely good reviews of another Arabic shop in close proximity, and all other reviews are very poor of more arabic stores in the area. Suspicious, no?) Anyhow, prices are reasonable. Haven't had the prepared food or sandwiches here yet, only shopped for products and meat to cook with. Ladies (and dudes, too): buy a bottle of rosewater for a few bucks and put it on your face each night after washing. It's my only real secret to good skin. read more

This store is full with Middle Easter food items, meat selection, produce section and more. In general, their prices are average compared to similar stores. You will find some items with prices that are in the range of +/- 20% than prices at other places. You will never find items at great low price in this store. They have no idea of running any deals. If you need to buy middle eastern food, they want you to always pay full price. They will offer some items at double prices compared to other places. Check the expiration dates also to make sure you are not cleaning their shelves from old years. read more

Stuffed Grape leaves are outstanding. I don't even like grape leaves and I could eat 10 of theirs! Very good prices for bulk foods like rice, grains and spices. I'd rather shop here at a small business than Costco or a chain! Produce is also very reasonable. read more

I expected more. This place sucks. The meat that they sell seems to have been frozen for ages then placed for sale as needed. Which doesn't seem very often. The hummus had mold on it and when it was brought to the attention to the the guy behind the counter he just put it to the side instead of throwing it out. I had no doubt that he was putting it back on the shelf after I left. The older woman that was there seemed nice enough but the guy, who I'm guessing is her husband is very unprofessional and in creep mode at all times. DONT SEND YOUR DAUGHTERS/SISTERS/MOM/WIFE to this place. They will never get a dollar out of me again. read more

This place is very nice. The food there is good and the people who work there are nice. They have great variety in their foods.

Amazing place. The people are always very nice and friendly. The store is clean and well stocked. I buy fresh mint, parsly, ginger and garlic much cheaper and better quality than the other local grocery stores. They have take out and I tried the Falafel the last time I was there and it was the best I ever had tasted. I love how easy it is to get there and parking is not a problem either. I love their fresh humus and despite some of the suspicious previous reviews I have never seen any food there that was not fresh or past the date marked on the package. The spinach pies when they are available are really good and fresh. You will not be disappointed. read more

The deli guys either really do not understand much english and kind of dislike white people or just dont like white people at all. Easily the worst grocery experience. I ask for 3 pounds of lamb shoulder @ 2.50/lb, he hands me a package labelled shoulder priced for 15 dollars. When I told him I only wanted the 2.50 shoulder pieces, he said the meat was part of the whole lamb that was 5 a pound, smiles, and goes back to work. Keep the 15 for Zakat, I'm getting my lamb from the West Side Market. read more

I used to come here once or twice a week, to buy meat and groceries. I can honestly say that I have never been greeted by any of the people standing behind the cash register, which is located at your right when you first walk in. Their meat (especially the ground beef) is rarely fresh!!! Its always brown at the middle of the meat pack! The chicken stincks! No matter how many times i wash it with lemon or flour before cooking, still stink! This is easily the worst middle eastern store ever!! Also one thing ive witnessed from my last visit that the Owner Is SUPER RUDE!! I've seen him with my own eyes cursing at a customer and telling him to get out from the store! So the reason why i dont come here anymore is because of bad service, bad meat and produce!! One of the realities of the west side-North olmsted-westlake area- is that their is a growing cultural diversity. I understand that trend and welcome the opportunity to enjoy the diverse food option that follow the different peoples now living here and try to support the better stores and restaurants. We went into the olive tree to see if we were missing anything. Just as the previous reviewers noted we didn't seem very welcome. I have never had a bad experience here yet. The nearby Middle Eastern grocer was much less friendly than this one, where the workers merely stared at us and probably didn't say a work as they rang us up, with minimal products. Olive Tree, on the other hand, had very good service, in my opinion. The guy making our food even came to find us in the store to see if we wanted hot sauce in our food, just to make sure, and on my first visit gave me a sample falafel ball thingy. Yum. They have lots and lots of well organized products. Sure, it's not the best ethnic grocery store I've ever seen, but I really like this place! Don't judge it based on feeling like "the only white person" in there because I have never felt like I was treated differently because of this. I think other users are just feeling an unanticipated over-awareness of their own ethnicity when they step in a place where THEY, for once, are a minority rather than any real prejudice on the workers' part. Plus I think there is kind of a different sense of customer service than what Americans expect.... they kind of just leave you alone to do your business, are helpful when asked something, and let you explore uninterrupted.
