We stopped by Olive Oil Etcetera this past Saturday when we were doing some holiday shopping in Doylestown. The shop is located in Main Street Marketplace. It's not a huge store, but it definitely matches what I've come to expect from olive oil stores. They had plenty of different olive oils (including flavored/infused oils) that you can fill in various sized bottles. They also sell other cooking-related items: tools, spices, etc. It's definitely not a large store, but it's worth checking out if you need olive oil or are on the hunt for a gift for someone who enjoys cooking. read more

Visited for the first time last weekend. I could buy half the food related items in this store but had to resist. The olive oils and vinegars are amazing, esp the latter. I fell in love with the cranberry pear balsamic vinegar. Lovely lady at the cashier desk, nice packaging. Expensive oils and vinegars but a little goes a long way since the taste is so strong. Perhaps I am showing my cultural blinders, but I never thought a successful business could be created out of the sale of olive oils and vinegars. Seemed like a hobby more than an enterprise. Shows how much I know! Still, I walked into Olive Oil Etcetera, perused the merchandise, and after stifling a disbelieving chuckle, allowed myself to find something to taste. The little cubes of Italian bread made for a perfect sponge. I tried a few olive oils infused with garlic and was impressed with the intensity of the herb and the smoothness of the oil base. Finally, I went for something more wild and personally rewarding. I found the Black Cherry Balsamic Vinegar... As in the old standard, "Love Potion Number 9," "I held my nose; I closed my eyes; I took a drink..." It was truly an amazing sensation. Tart over sweet cherry flavors dominated. The vinegar offered a plush background ooze in which to savor the coating of my tongue. It was great! Yes. I purchased a small bottle that fit easily in my hand. It looked to be a magic potion. But, when I kissed my lady down at 34th and Vine, I knew that Black Cherry Balsamic Vinegar was Love Potion #9. Got to go back for more!!! read more

Much akin to the Tubby Olive - but better prices (and a few different sized bottles) and better tasting balsamics. Olive oils seemed similar and some identical to Tubby Olive. Also sells a few tapanades and Italian (pricey) honeys. A fun place to taste and shop. Try the Meyer Lemon infused Oil and the Fig or Cherry Balsamic. Yum! The best real olive oil store I've been to (supermarket olive oil tastes totally fake/cheap compared to this, and I saw a documentary on NatGeo before about an Italian olive oil mafia where they sell fake olive oil to Americans, but this stuff is legit!). They have a wider array of flavors (flavor-infused as well as multiple unflavored olive oils and balsamics). The woman who works here was very helpful. I personally thought $5 was steep for the spout, but it turns out that's a regular price. I saw a comparable one on Amazon for $15, but it was only $5 here! The bottles are freshly filled and sealed, so you don't get one that's been sitting on a shelf for a while (like you know who). read more

We got a bottle of 18 year aged balsamic vinegar. The stuff is like syrup. Some of the best ive tasted and because they buy in bulk and bottle each bottle one at a time you get an incredible deal. The owner and staff are some of the friendliest people ever and we were really happy to have met them and discovered this great store. You can sample any oil or vinegar before you buy it. This is one of our favorite shops in Dtown! I have a town house in the area, but work and live in New York. I've been to many olive oil shops, on Long Island, out in Suffolk County as well. Not one equals Olive Oil Etcetera! We buy many holiday gifts there (our friends and daughter-in-law can't get enough of the garlic olive oil!. But more than just the amazing selection of oils and vinegars, the gifts, the salts, and the service are the absolute best. And they have recipes! About to make the orange olive oil brownies for the holidays. And bought the olive bruschetta and apricot jalapeno jam to mix with cream cheese to put out as delicious appetizers! Thank you Chris! Our son shops with you whenever he visits his best friend. Recently, he gifted us with a selection of olive oils and balsamic vinegar. Unfortunately the cap and the cork from one of the stoppers separated. I called to ask for a replacement stopper. Not only were we sent multiple replacement stoppers, but also a bottle of olive oil. Last Christmas I made gift baskets with the olive oil, balsamic vinegar, and some great bread from Wegmans. Since then I have received multiple compliments and thanks for the gifts. Being able to sample all of the different flavors ahead of time was a big plus. The hardest part was trying to decide on just a few flavors to buy. I was in the store today to buy presents with the Living Social voucher I had purchased. The man working in the store was watching tv when I walked in and didn't stop to even say 'hello'. There were 2 people leaving as I walked in but no one else in the store. I had to ask if he worked there because I was so dumbfounded that he wouldn't say a word to me as I passed in front of him. After confirming that he worked there he STILL DIDN'T TRY TO HELP ME. If I hadn't purchased the Living Social voucher I would have immediately left and never bought anything. As I was leaving he made a comment about my son making 'a huge mess' in his store. Poor customer service...no matter the product...should never be excused. If I could give this store more stars I would. What a lovely shop with absolutely friendly, pleasant owners and the best olive oil and vinegars I have ever tasted. I have frequented other shops like this one and this is by far the best. I cannot believe how good the pineapple balsamic tastes. Its like something from another planet, just crazy good. The garlic cilantro is also insane. We bought sample bottles but that was a huge mistake. I will return for the full size products. It is so nice to see a small business who truly takes pride in what they put out and how they put it out. read more

I didn't even know there were so many ways to infuse olive oil or vinegar. A newer business owned by eager young local people who're doing something really clever. You can sample everything before you buy it. I really enjoy their infused vinegars and olive oils on salads and veggies. It is unfortunate that visit happened. I was in two weekend ago and just feel in love with the store and all it vinagers and oils. And both the owner and joan were just a treat and very helpful. I walked out with six bottles as gifts and my friends and I can't stop talking about how good they all are. I'm a foodie who is picky and just loved the difference with each one. I plan to go back and by more for myself. Of all the vinagers I've tasted for me these beat them all. So I would give this store a try. I love their olive oils and balsamic vinegars! My wife loves the olive bruschetta. It's great that you can sample all of the OO/vinegars with some Italian bread before you purchase. I have purchased about 5 bottles so far for myself and I love bringing a bottle to parties and social gatherings instead of a bottle of wine. Contrary to the first reviewer, I found the CUSTOMER SERVICE TO BE TOP NOTCH. The employees have great suggestions for different dishes with each of their products. read more
