Any drink I asked about she would try to talk me out of, it seemed like she just didn't want to put in the effort of making anything. When I decided on a drink she rolled her eyes at me. I told her to cancel the drink and left. The cocktails sounded good, would've loved to try one but oh well, maybe I'll come back if she's not working.

We were a first timers at Wallers, and decided to take a chance on this place on a Friday night…read more Even though I read others reviews, I wasn't quite sure what to expect....and after arriving a tad after 6, parking was very hard to come by.... This is usually a good sign in my book. After being pleasantly greeted after walking in, I saw a lot of the wait staff and the bartenders like busy bees.... All of them seemed to be in a happy mood. We were ushered to our table in the large dining area. Pictures posted by others were accurate. Several larger groups of 8+ were around and the room was a buzz of chatter.... Not too loud, just right. Our server Nicole gave us some time to read thru the menus and we ordered after a bit. Since it was Friday night, we chose the fish fry, my wife the beer battered cod, myself the peach. While we waiting we enjoyed view out the large glass windows that overlooked the lake and saw the pontoon boat launch and return with guests, the free ride around the lake with Captain Max (who by the way had some great stories to share on our trip, a couple seemed pretty fishy). Our dinner arrived what seemed like eternity, however being patient was rewarding.... Both selections of fish were awesome... some of the best beer battered cod and perch we've had across a dozen counties. Guys, it's worth it. All around the staff was great, the view during diner was excellent, and the boat ride was like icing on the famous carrot cake they serve.... My only downgrade on the experience was the very long wait for dinner. It turned out to be well worth it, however for fried fish, well beyond my expectations on time. Now.... It's your turn to make a reservation....

When we walked in the jukebox seemed somewhat loud, but during our time there it didn't bother me and I also heard several good tunes. The space itself had terrazzo floors and a Formica bar top (I think) with wood paneling, drop ceilings and wasn't overly adorned with tchotchkes. Otherwise it was a pretty ordinary watering hole. The bartender took good care of us and we also snacked on a bag of tortilla chips topped with warm nacho cheese, which served as a makeshift lunch for us. The draft beers were cold and ran about $3, and a lot of the patrons bid us a happy Memorial Day and safe travels as we headed out, which was appreciated. All in all, a friendly place I would stop by again if I was passing through.

Everything felt familiar yet refined, with such a beautiful balance of richness, acidity, and texture. And the Manhattan was the perfect complement--beautifully crafted and smooth without overpowering the meal. The steak tartare was a standout as well: rich, savory, and incredibly well balanced. A little hidden gem that manages to feel both rustic and elevated. Definitely a place I'd happily return to. Also, an honorable mention to our server. We really appreciated that our server was not overbearing with information, table touches or upselling, while still offering great service.

It's such a laid back vibe, it's unfortunate it's almost invisible unless you are seeking it out because it's a fun little specialty lounge. Definitely not a wild party bar, but a great quiet spot for a date night drink.
