As a blonde, I wanted to be brighter and lighter, without the 3-4 month upkeep. Taylor made it possible for me to come in every 6 months and have beautiful, lived in color until then. This past appointment, I wanted to experiment going a bit darker in my color and showed her only one reference photo - and she made it happen! My hair is beautifully dimensional and natural looking, without being a big dramatic change. Not only is Taylor talented in hair, but she is a kind and sweet person too! But, customer service is lacking. First most of my 3 hour appointment was talking about god and he all but said my gay father is a freak of nature. If I hadn't had half of my hair in foils I would have walked out. This is extremely unprofessional in my opinion. Never talk about religion or politics, especially with a first time client. Didn't want to piss off the guy who was doing my hair. But, my hair looked so good I booked with him again and figured I'd tell him no god talk this time, My second appointment was to get my hair touched up for my daughter's wedding. I was pressed for time especially with guests coming in from out of town. I waited 15 minutes for Gregg. He never showed! When I was leaving the woman who was there asked me if I wanted to call Gregg. I said I thought you had done that. And she said she had talked with Gregg that morning and he would be in for his first appointment, which was me at 1:00. Wouldn't you think that when she saw he was five minutes late she would call him? And then no reaching out to me to apologize or trying to fit me in before the wedding. Radio silence. I won't be going back.

It made perfect sense to me and actually I had been trying to tell my stylist at Juut I wanted basically the exact changes he recommended. Greg wants you to walk out of his salon looking so good that people comment on it. :-). And don't we all want that! :-) He made a huge improvement in my style and color. I think he is a master colorist and I know he has won awards as a stylist. He meets people where they are at and really connects in a positive way. And I appreciate that. I usually go to Cole's Salon, but they were fully booked today. I tried Regis and left so…read moredisappointed. To start- my stylist, Nicole, asked what I wanted to do with my hair today. I told her and she proceeded to roll her eyes and say that's what everyone asks for and you shouldn't do that. Then- throughout my wash and cut, Nicole kept yelling across the salon to another stylist telling her she better make sure she charges her client extra money for having long hair. No joke, she addressed that issue 8+ times. Finally- when it came to my hair, she cut it, then started to blow dry it, realized she had taken longer than expected, turned off the blow dryer, and said "so do you want to just let it air dry or what did you want?" I said, "well can you finish drying it and flat iron it?" She said okay and spent ten minutes blow drying it before stopping and telling me she is going to charge me extra because my hair is thick and I asked for her to flat iron it. I told her if she's going to charge me extra, that I didn't want her to do it. She kept going and working on it but complained the whole time that my hair was thick and usually her clients will blow dry and straighten their hair before they come in if they want it done that way. I've never had a hair cut where a stylist didn't flat iron my hair to be able to show me how the finished cut looked. She told me she would never blow dry and flat iron someone's hair during a hair cut. And proceeded to continue complaining about it. At one point, she was up front helping the other stylist charge her client extra, and I just decided I was done dealing with her, so I went up and asked her to ring me up and I would let her get back to the things she'd rather do. When I got home, I finished straightening it and was appalled at how bad the haircut was. It looks awful and not at all what I asked for. I tried to go to the website to reach out to corporate or the store, and there is no way to leave feedback. I'd never go back there to pay $38 for a haircut where someone spends the whole time complaining about doing her job and trying to find ways to charge everyone more. I'd much rather go back to Cole's Salon where the people are nice, enjoy their job, and you don't feel like you're an inconvenience to them.

This location is also close to some coffee places (like Starbucks) if you want to grab a drink to have at your appointment. There are two locations in Eagan, so make sure you know which one you are booking at! The vibes: this location is well maintained. It is clean and everyone keeps their areas nice. Compared to the other locations, this one does feel slightly outdated. I also don't like how open the seats are. In Apple Valley they are more "cubical" style, and I like that better. Payton was my stylist and I really enjoyed her. She didn't force talk and let me know every step she was taking. She gave recommendations and was professional! I would happily see her again! My color was exactly what I was looking for! My hair cut was slightly shorter than what I was hoping for, but honestly, I had such bad split ends/ it's summer that I think she did me a favor haha.
