I was just here, hated every second of it. I had gotten a perm over the summer somewhere else and…read morewas wearing it long but wanted a cut to give some structure and movement, but still be able to play with the texture of the perm because I like it. I scheduled with Hasaan. Showed him two videos and a photo, he only asked me "you want to keep it full in the back?" I said yes, because it's like that in the photos. I felt like he barely looked but I didn't question because sometimes people are just that good, they already know what's up by a glance. He asked me if I liked the perm, I talk about how I grew my hair out for a year and how I didn't want to keep getting fades because it was too much maintenance to go every 1-2 weeks. Other than that he doesn't talk to me which is fine because I only really want to be communicated with about my hair and haircut. Basically no consultation about my hair and goals, especially as a new client. He busted out the clippers and before I could protest all my hair is gone. He asks if the length is good afterwards, all I can say is yes? What am I supposed to say, hey can you glue my hair back on my head? I obviously didn't want it any shorter. Look, I don't tell people what to do in their own profession as I am not a hairstylist but it really should've just been some scissor work. Even with the longest guard it would've still been shorter than what I had asked for. I was just asking for layers and a trim - if that was not communicated through the photo and videos I shared then why wasn't I asked. The back isn't even "full" like he confirmed with me, it seems like he just wanted me in and out and gave me a generic short haircut I didn't ask for. It's uneven, I have long stray hairs. My hair is sticking out because he cut it short, which I didn't ask for, and when it's short it sticks out. I know my hair, that's why I didn't want it. Paid $45 for the haircut (plus tip because I'm not a jerk and I know people need to live). Could've gotten this haircut somewhere else for less. I was and still am irritated as hell because I just don't understand how it went from what I wanted to what I got. He didn't even try. And I effectively lost time spent growing my hair out and money I spent on the perm that he just cut off. This was by hair the most messed up haircut.

Jaynee Studer For…read morethe past seventy - four years, I have been getting my hair cut about every five to six weeks. In that number of years, I have been to many barbers and stylists. The reason I am writing this review is to say that Jaynee Studer at Sakada is the best stylist I have ever had. I have been going to her for over two and one - half years and she is superb in every respect. She is an exceptional stylist and has found a way to cut my hair (with all of its cowlicks) so that it always looks very nice when she is finished. For over ten years, I went to a stylist at another salon and, after ten years, she could never even remember on which side I parted my hair! Jaynee is exceptional in her techniques and I would recommend her highly to anyone who is looking for a stylist. Besides being excellent at her profession, Jaynee is also very friendly and personable and a good person with whom to have a conversation. I always look forward to my appointments with her.

The shop decoration has a lot of enjoyable details while everything stay in a Minimal style. The Service I got, is one of the best I got around the twin cities, I used to get my hair cut at uptown Minneapolis, but those real high end shops provide no better service I got from here. I have choices of beverage when I walking in. And the shampooing process is great! The most satisfying part is the haircut. Im a guy, And I will say that I finally find a stylist who can understand what I want, and can tell me confidently: "well, I think you will look great in this style." Instead of Barbers from uptown who always, almost must ask me: "what do I want?" And plus most of the barbers/stylists have no idea how to deal with my dark, firm hairs. However, I got great haircut here. The price is alright. A little up there, however, in my opinion, it's really worth the service I got at here. And I'll said compare to the salon/ barber shop at uptown MPLS, all cost the same, but I prefer this one, for sure will come back! And thank you so much!

I didn't even want to wake up in the morning because I knew that when I looked in the mirror, I would be depressed at my appearance. I was looking on Yelp for basically a magician / hair stylist. After reading through a bunch of reviews, I decided to try London at Salon on the Edge. Suffice it to say, London is the Merlin of hair cutting! I am convinced he must be a wizard. I can't believe how lucky I am to have found him. He really spent a lot of time listening to what I wanted, and I felt like he cared about the results. I can't even tell you how happy I am. I used to color and even cut my own hair, but I've set up appointments ever three weeks for the next couple of months because I finally found a stylist with real talent (and it doesn't hurt that she's fun to talk to). Quality. As I said, Christine's color is fantastic - I get compliments on my hair now that she's taken charge. More importantly, the color's SO much better for covering those pesty...um, silvers and lasts much longer. Price. On par with what I paid at Fantastic Sam's down the road and SO much better. Ambience. The salon is pleasant, the staff are friendly. Note. I had Aveda's version of the Brazilian the week before my color on Monday and found that it sucked all the color out of my hair. If you can live with bad color for a week out of every three months or so, no big deal. But for me, it was embarrassing to go to work with a markedly different hair color - bad color - people didn't know what to say. Now, my hair is very thick and sucks up any color, conditioner, etc. so my hair may not be ideal for this process. I still have to work with my hair almost as long in the morning, so between that and the fact that I hated what it did to my color so much, I doubt I'll have it done again. Also, I think it damaged my hair, so I had a trim with Christine. Bottom line, if you have thick, poreous hair, you may want to think twice.

The last time he cut and colored my hair, I walked out with a completely uneven cut And the color and highlights were awful. I showed him a picture of what I wanted, and he didn't even get close. I ended up going to Cole's Salon three weeks later and paid $200 (on top of the 200. I'd already paid at MOB) to have them correct it. The husband and wife team do not leave their family issues at home. They talk about them while clients are sitting in the chair. Very awkward.
