I just had a little salad with micro greens that are bitter,green pear,snap peas and green onions. Nothing fancy. I drizzled on my new products... OMG GAME CHANGER! Wow! It was like it was sweet. It was tart. It tasted like a Restaurant quality. I'm so thrilled that I get to have this as many times as I want thank you. I stopped by this store one day this week since I happened to be in the area. Upon entering I was immediately greeted by one of the owners, who was very welcoming and said to ask him if I had any questions. As the name implies, the store's speciality is olive oil, and you can sample a wide variety of oils and vinegars. If that's not your forte, don't worry because the store has plenty more to offer. I spent a long time just browsing the store because it's beautifully arranged. Even though it's fairly small, they make good use of the space. You can get locally made ice cream and honey, as well as kitchenware imported from all over the world. I found a very cute Christmas gift for my mom. There also sell cheeses, spices, teas, hot sauces - a lot more than I can list. Easily accessible whether you're driving or using public transit. There's street parking in many places along Beacon Street and the shop is right next to the Summit Avenue stop on the C branch of the Green Line. read more

I have ordered online few days ago from Olive Connection a rare Olive Oil which I usually order from Italy and have clearly inserted shipping details for delivery in another country outside the US as the website clearly offers international delivery. I then receive some days later that my order is ready for collection at the shop to which I replied that there must have been a misunderstanding and that I needed the items to be shipped to my country and that I would of course pay for the shipping cost. this is when the surprise starts. the shop replies telling me that "you must be a d**b c**t" .... but the story does not end there. I receive a second email this time directly from Charles (son of the Owners) email ID another email in similar terms insulting me for no reason. I of course disputed the payment with my bank as who would want to keep a commercial transaction with such attitude. This of course led me to make a google review simply putting one star but without explaining the reason behind as I didn't want to ridicule Charles (whom I repeat I do not know personally). I have never posted bad reviews as I am not the type to cause harm irrespective of the experience however this one was way beyond acceptable. The story keeps going as after the review I am bombarded with insulting iMessages. Someone would think that this is a typical situation where the shop emails etc must have been hacked but I know for a fact that this harassment is coming from the Owners son himself as WhatsApp pictures of the phone sending me insulting content is of Charles'. Ok for one email to be hacked but doubt that personal email and phone number are also hacked simultaneously. I of course proceeded to block the sender from every platform and since then my email is being spoiled and used by the Owners for subscribing in various websites including but not limited to not decent ones. I know it is again Charles as the first website he decided to subscribe my email to is local news in Massachusetts.. where the shop is located.. not very smart indeed. I have proof of all the above and unless they stop immediately I am ready to take legal actions against the shop and against Charles personally for cyber criminality. in other words do not order from this shop online as you never know to what type of freak you will bump into. The authorities in my country have already been informed as they take these activities very seriously. read more

Lovely shop, lovely knowledgeable owners and staff, variety of interesting and (unknown to me) oils/foods/tea/goodies. I had previously just bought oil, but went in yesterday and ended up with a variety of goods that will be for me and given as presents. When I got home, I tried the Meredith Dairy Sheep and Goat Marinated Fresh Cheese, and was so excited that I didn't have a problem with it because I am lactose-intollerent. It was delicious both plain by itself, and on crackers that I also bought from the shop (piled with beets, hard-boiled eggs, or anything else you want). I had first seen the cheese when the owners put a big tasting spread out for a food tour that I was on a few weeks ago. How nice and thoughtful of them. I will definately return! read more

This place is great if you're really into oils & vinegars. They've got a wide variety of both -- all of which you're free to sample yourself. There are little tasting cups as well as tiny bread pieces to dip with. You're free to help yourself but the super friendly employees are there as needed. In addition to oils & vinegars, the Olive Connection has a variety of specialty goods -- condiments, olives, dips, snacks, etc. There is a refrigerated case with a few different meats, cheese, and olives too. The oils & vinegars are a bit on the pricy side -- a 200ml bottle is 14.95 and a 500ml bottle is 19.95. Those are the only two sizes available. It's very pretty inside and the owners are really sweet and helpful. I hope they make it! read more

Love this little store! Stumbled upon it while waiting for a friend and fell in love. They have so many flavors of olive oil and balsamic vinegar, if you use either for salads or to dip breads you need to stop by. You can try everything! My favorite is the summer peach balsamic vinegar! read more

We stopped in for a brief visit. So much to look at and taste. Presentation is artful. The products are delicious. This trip we tried the Italian spiced olive mix. We are big olive fans and I thought we had sampled everything out there. Not so. This wonderful spiced mix of olives was unique, flavorful and totally complimentary to the wonderful flavor of each olive. The fig ball is another new (to us) preparation and presentation of an old favorite. Roasted in straw balls, these figs are like no others: an intense, sweet flavor that is a perfect pairing with any cheese or just on a cracker. This is definitely a shop we will depend on to treat ourselves to something new and delicious and to treat our friends to as well. The OC is great addition to Brookline shops. read more

BUYER BEWARE ! THIS STORE SELLS EXPIRED FOODS !! This is a little mom-and-pop store in Coolidge Corner. During the Xmas holiday season I purchased some olive oil and accessories for gifts; I was happy with my purchase and the 2 women working there were very helpful - I think one was the owner. Fast forward to April 2019 when I once again was shopping for a small gift; this time there was an older couple working, seemed like a husband and wife team who I assumed are the owners. While discussing different award-winning Olive Oils I noticed a "Mystery Grab bag" display, promoting /offering the goods sold in the store, but in a sealed bag (the bags were stapled shut hence the "Mystery Grab bag" promotion). The price was $40 for a bag, marked down to $20. When I inquired what was in the bags, the gentleman (owner ?) stated "this was my son's idea, there is $40 worth of goods in the bags, but no olive oils, only various spices and marinades and other products." I decided to try my luck at the Mystery Grab bag and bought one with the intention of giving it to a gourmet cook as a hostess gift on Easter. I didn't check the contents of the bag for several hours after my purchase, until I arrived home. I checked out the 5-6 products in the bag, which consisted of some kind of sea salt, chili pepper flakes, 'pizza seasoning' (whatever that is), chimichurri sauce and a marinade that literally looked like vomit in a jar. When I turned the jar to check the ingredients, I noticed the expiration date read 'March 2019'. A month prior to the current day. Obviously the next thing I did was check the expiration date of all the other products, and all of them had either April or May 2019 expiration date. Went back the next day (Saturday) to return the mystery bag, only to find a younger guy behind the counter - who I assumed was the son that the older man had referred to the previous day. There was another customer and his young son in the store so I quietly approached the counter and informed him that items I had purchased were expired (trying not to cause a scene). He seemed concerned for a moment, but never apologized for selling me expired goods. Then he started to carefully check the expiration date of each item, as if he didn't believe me. As I started pointing out the expiration dates his attitude changed. He seemed to know he got busted in his scam. The chili pepper flakes had an expiration date of 05/02/2019 and he gave me some attitude that this product hadn't actually expired. I explained to him that if the product expires May 2019, it was probably stocked on the shelf over a year ago (probably more), and asked for my money back. By this time he was visibly angry that I wasn't buying any of his bullshit, so he took some money out of the drawer and slapped it on the counter and sarcastically told me to "have a nice day". This jerky dude tried to sell me expired goods, then got angry with me when I called him out on it. The sad part is, I doubt his parents even know he's selling expired goods and putting the store's good name (?) in jeopardy. Moral of the story is don't buy "mystery grab bags" and don't give your business to Olive Connection !!! I learned my lesson the hard way. read more

I've been making my own dressings and I figured I would check out this new spot. My mind was blown! The Olive Connection has an extensive variety of oils and vinegars as well as a charming collection of pastas, cheeses, cured meats, sauces, teas, and various seasonings. I knew little about olive oil when I first walked in the door, and I left with an appreciation that I'd never thought I'd have. The shop is owned by a local couple and their son. They are incredibly friendly and helpful. The gentleman helped me sample a handful of oils and vinegars from all over the world. I ended up purchasing some amazing bottles that I am very excited to cook with. I'll never buy oil from a grocery store again. I highly recommend The Olive Connection and I cannot wait to go back! read more

Just a lovely store! The proprietor helped me find an olive oil that was just to my liking, and I thought the price was right -- no more than you'd pay at Whole Foods or even the top shelves at Trader Joe's. If you go through gallons a year it's not going to be affordable, but for salad dressing and dipping bread -- the superior flavor is worth bucks. I'm so thrilled with this new addition to Brookline. I had so much fun and learned so much from my little visit the other day. The owners, a lovely couple, are so passionate about what the do and the products they're selling. I had a thorough taste test of a variety of fine oils and vinegar from around the world and enjoyed every single one. The variety is incredible and I wanted to buy everything. They also have a great selection of artisanal foods like cheese, tapenades and honey comb. I'm thrilled this exists and I can't wait to support this lovely small business. I went home with a large bottle of Greek extra-extra virgin olive oil and it make a delicious dressing! read more

This is a neighborhood gem. Each time I have visited the store the owners and other staff have been so welcoming and friendly. They have helped me pick out wonderful gifts a few times. They have pointed out items I would have missed and sales occurring. They also wrap the gifts in a very nice presentation. Everyone I've given gifts to has been thrilled upon receiving them. I hope to visit soon with my husband so he can pick out some nice oils for us this time. I also found the selection of items to be great. They have a lot more than oils. There are local fruit spreads and soaps and pastas and sauces as well. There are a lot of other items too. I see they also offer cooking classes and other types of classes as well. I'm so glad the store is located so close to my house. I hope they are in the neighborhood for many years to come! read more

I'm glad an artisanal olive oil shop has opened up in the area! Spend the extra five bucks and save yourself from trader joe's olive oil. This stuff is the real stuff. Simply using quality ingredients will make anything you cook taste better. I would not use their stuff as a cooking oil, but think dipping for breads, salad dressings, etc....anything where the flavor of the oil will be real important to the final product of your dish. I got a bottle from here last week and I've been dipping everything in it...it's that good. Tip: Return the bottle and get a dollar off your next one! read more

What a nice little treasure of a shop in Coolidge Corner. The shop offers not only a variety of olive oil and balsamic vinegar from different locations but also cheese, olives, and local honey! You are free to sample the olive oil and vinegar with the tasting cups and bread. The staff was very friendly and offered their advice on the different varieties of olive oil. We found the prices quite reasonable and hope this shop becomes a mainstay in an area dominated by banks and cell phone stores. read more
