We have worked together for about a year, and she has patiently helped me put together a plan that includes a food log, and exercise that fit my lifestyle and schedule. She has been non-judgmental and firm but encouraging through my numerous stops and starts. She truly understands the emotional component of food addiction. It 's not enough to intellectually know what to do. She helps you deal with the "inner kid" who keeps you from doing what's in your own best interest. I highly recommend her whether you are an elite athlete, or just beginning your journey toward healthy living.

Rebecca is leading me on a journey to do just that. She identified my core problems with food, mainly that I was prone to over-restricting (and therefore under-eating) with intermittent binges. After only a few sessions with Rebecca, I feel so much happier and healthier. Until Rebecca identified my emotional eating habits, I did not realize that I was using food to stifle difficult feelings. Now Rebecca is working with me to help me get in touch with my "intuitive eater." My only regret is that I did not have time for more sessions this summer, since I will be returning to school soon. But Rebecca has promised to stay in touch via email, Skype, and phone, and after only a week away she has stayed true to her promise. Rebecca can help you get to the bottom of your problems with food, and she will guide you in developing a lifestyle plan that works for you and your body. I really could not be happier with this experience.

Prior to working with Linda of Simple Well Being I struggled with my diet and nutrition to get down to my goal weight for my triathlon and bike racing. With Linda, I got practical and very helpful advice to help me work towards my personal goals. I learned a lot about the foods I should be eating more of and some eye opening food errors on my part. I have since made several small tweaks to my eating and meal preparation that have paid big dividends. Linda has helped me focus on my meal planning, basics to have in my kitchen, and foods to avoid. I have since lost weight, increased my energy level, and friends are asking me what I am doing differently since the changes are so pronounced. If you are looking for someone to help you tweak your diet and get you into living a healthier lifestyle then I strongly recommend Linda and Simple Well Being.

In the past 4 years, I had gained 40+ lbs due to some special medicine I was taking (and probably some overeating of hamburgers too haha). I tried EVERYTHING to get rid of it. Juice cleanses, special diets, pills, multiple private trainers, you name it and I had done it. Unfortunately, nothing stuck. Knowing my wedding was just around the corner, I had to do something to get the weight off for good. I wanted to feel confident on my wedding day! I found Lindsay through a quick yelp search and was intrigued. Let's get this straight. This is not a special fad diet or some strict eating plan, its a way of life! Lindsay gives you the tools, skills, and mindset to make a long lasting change in your lifestyle. During the course of the 6 weeks, I lost 8+ lbs and now (more than 3 months later) I'm still continuing to lose weight by following what she taught me. I plan to be at my goal weight in the next 3 months (in time for my wedding!) And most importantly, I feel fantastic!!!!! I feel like a whole new person. Yes, it's a monetary investment but it was worth every penny :) do it!!!

I was always looking for that quick/easy way to lose weight and while I have been successful in the past, it always comes back. With Lindsay's program, I feel confident that this is something I can keep up with long term and I have already seen amazing results. Not only do I notice a physical change, but mentally I feel so much better as well. I am sleeping better and have more energy. As other reviewers have said, this is not a strict or fad diet but a different way of life. I eat out a lot and starting this program I was worried I wasn't going to be able to do that. However, Lindsay taught me some tips and tricks so that I can still eat out, drink and socialize but still eat healthy and it can still taste good. I can't wait to see what happens in the next few months!

I first want to say that this review does not reflect on the many excellent trainers who rent this…read morespace and are responsive and talented. It only reflects on the owner and manager of this gym and their lack of clear policies and terrible communication. The facility is poorly maintained. A huge hole in the women's bathroom wall has been there for a year. There are no rules about wiping mats or machines after use, and I have repeatedly seen trainers and clients pick up mats they just sweated on and put them back on "the pile." Finally, there are often so many people jammed in that it is an obstacle course of weights, balls, and benches to work around. Second, when I started there using a Groupon, there was no "orientation" or contract discussion. I had to ultimately ask my trainer if I was supposed to be paying him directly or paying the gym. (He suggested I pay him). The engagement was completely unclear and nobody from management EVER spoke to me. In fact, the owner did not address me (not a "hello") in the ~8 months I worked out there. Which brings me to my final issue - there was a big disconnect/miscommunication about "whose client I am" that led to them telling me that my trainer of choice could not train me. Despite the fact that I had no contract with the company, they accused the trainer of trying to poach me from them. Fine. You have unclear policies. But after receiving this news from the owner, I tried to reach him four times via email and text to try to work something out. I never once received a response. So I tried his sidekick - the so-called manager. Same result. No response. As an aside, I do know that the owner is consistently absent and either terribly late or a no-show for his own clients. There is clearly something not right there. Sorry to flame this place, but it really is a mess.

I've been training with Nick, the owner, since then. I must admit, I have "guns" like no other! Well...for a petite asian girl...lol! I'm super lazy when it comes to working out. I don't have a gym membership because I'll never go! I NEED someone to watch over me and tell me what to do. Otherwise, I'll do 5 sit ups and pat myself on the back. Growing up, I was that girl that always got picked last for kickball - I was scrawny and often referred to as skin and bones. I'm on one of those DC softball leagues, and usually when I'm up to bat, the whole infield and outfield move in. Little do they know I have arms of "pseudo" steel!" I haven't hit a grand slam yet, but that's my goal! I can even climb walls and break into my own place apparently (true story). Nowadays, when I reach for that glass of wine...and when I'm just about to take a sip, I sometimes get a comment on my biceps, and I have Fitology and Nick to thank for that!

Their treatment modality (Unified Treatment) is completely made up, utter bullshit, ineffective, and not at all evidence based. Their meal plans and approach to food are so backwards it is absurd. This place should not exist, and should definitely not be trusted to provide care to anyone with an eating disorder. If you want real treatment in the DMV area, go to Center for Discovery https://centerfordiscovery.com/.

Is there a way to give negative stars?…read more Staff does not communicate well with other employees or with patients. On the first night of my treatment (Monday) I had no idea where to go, I just followed other patients into the group room which I correctly assumed was where I needed to be. On Day 2 (Wednesday) I apparently missed an appointment with a nutritionist I was never told I had. I was simply given a large folder on my first night with a paper in it with an appointment time and was called while I was at work when I didn't show up. They seem to lack the basic understanding that to make an appointment with a client you need to first confirm with the patient that the time works for them. I was also never told that I could bring a support person with me on every Wednesday so when the time came and everyone's support person arrived I was furious with the lack of communication. All patients are expected to complete 100% of their meal regardless if restricting is their issue or not. You cannot even leave 2 bites or you will be forced to drink a nutritional supplement drink (because apparently according to the fake, walking-text-book, fresh out of college employees a boost drink is equivalent to 3 slices of green pepper) God forbid you learn to sense when you are full and stop eating!! All patients are treated as if they have the same disorder. They lump everyone (restrictors, bingers, purgers) ages 14 and up together as many as 20 girls per night in the same treatment group. I don't know how they can get away with that seeing as how from a social work stand point treating adults and treating children is very different. Adults would hold back what they want to say in group with children around and often tune out during group because of the silliness of the younger girls. When I mentioned I didn't think it was a good fit, instead of it opening a conversation on how they could help me with my issues, they were all too happy to agree and kick me out. When they called to ask if I'd be returning it seemed less like a phone call of concern than it did a business necessity to see if they could replace me with someone as soon as possible to keep their income rolling in. After I left, or more accurately was asked to leave, I read many reviews online and noticed their reputation has declined over the years and if you are considering Renfew I highly recommend both this blog article http://middlegroundmusings.com/the-documentary-thin-and-the-treatment-loophole/ *and* the film "THIN" ( which is available on Youtube) both of which talk about the TREATMENT LOOPHOLE at Renfrew: "This loophole appears when the staff and therapists become too tangled in policies and procedures to notice the patients slipping through. It is the gap between stringent adherence to rules and a respect for the complex human being whom these rules are meant to serve." The loophole is the backdoor which they show too many ill women through if they don't think the women will be successful. Ultimately, they only care about making money and maintaining a high success rate. Women they find in the least bit difficult to help they give up on and show out the back door to prevent a drop in their cooked book success stats and decrease in revenue.
