I believe I have seen most of the LMT's who practice here. While each massage has some stylistic difference each was value added to my well being. My last visit was with Emily. Part of my treatment plan includes hydrotherapy, a form of massage some might describe as torture: alternating hot and cold towels on the front of the body for 30 minutes and again on the back. Some therapists may not be able to pull such a maneuver off without scaring some of their clients away, but Alsia is a star. Alsia Soiset has been providing massage for quite a few years, including time she spent in Beverly Hills working for some famous, and famously difficult, people. She is not only an extraordinarily gifted therapist, but she is also caring and very, very funny (paraphrased at my appointment today: "If I'm going to torture you, I should also make you laugh"). As part of the staff at New Health Medical Center, Alsia works with patients referred to her by clinicians, but also takes on her own clients. According to her business card, she offers, "deep tissue, cranial sacral, pregnancy, lymphatic, and hot stone massage." Prices at the clinic are $75 per hour for hydrotherapy and mud pack therapy, and $65 for massage therapy. Major bonus: Alsia accepts a variety of insurance plans, yay! She currently works on Mondays, Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Fridays, with up to five appointments per day. If you're looking for a new therapist and you live in the Edmonds area or do not mind driving there, try scheduling an appointment with Alsia. She's fantastic.

However, they clearly were not licensed massage therapists, which is what I expected from the website. My wife and I signed up for couples deep tissue massages. What we got instead was a general rub-down with some pretty good hand and foot work. My masseuse spoke literally no English. My wife's masseuse spoke some English and translated what I said to Chinese. This made it impossible to get a massage that focused on the muscle groups that needed it. There was also pressure to pay with cash instead of a credit card, which I didn't appreciate. I wonder if ownership of this business has changed at some point.

Not only is she reliable, professional and incredibly skilled, but she has this wonderful, mothering vibe that instantly makes you feel safe and cared for. Palesteen is also one of the most generous and intuitive people I know. She always knows how to help with the tension I carry, especially in my neck, which has been a chronic issue for me. Thanks to Palesteen, I've experienced improvements in my neck pain and general anxiety. I also love that Palestine's business is owned and run by her. It feels great to support a small business that's built on such care and wisdom. Her studio space feels clean, peaceful and serene and has a convienent location. I wholeheartedly recommend her to anyone looking for a therapist who genuinely cares and truly listens.

I was traveling…read moreup to the day of the appointment, flew in on a redeye only to learn I'd accidentally scheduled the appointment for the previous day. I called as soon as I realized to apologize & rebook the following month - stating per the policy, I understood the the amount of the 90 minute massage had to be invoiced; but that it could also be used towards the next massage. A gentleman called me back & said "We understand things happen, but we will have to invoice the gift card & you will have to prepay for the massage you booked, next month." I responded by saying "You all don't seem very understanding, at all. This massage was given to me as a gift & since I can't afford to prepay - I'll just cancel my session." This cost a lot of money. I called to explain the situation and the gentleman showed no signs of empathy. Not exactly the birthday gift or professional service experience I'd hoped for. I get being charged a percentage of the appointment, but charging in full & not applying that payment to the rebooking is so far from being "understanding". Updating to 3 vs 1 after the owner reached out, but seriously - automate reminders. Nobody would be happy about being charged $200 for a service they didn't receive, especiallywhen looking forward to it. I had a legitimate reason for missing my appointment & a little grace would've been nice. Also, per the website - you state the full amount would be credited to the next scheduled appointment for first time clients, but on the phone I was told I'd need to prepay... lowering back to a 2, now that I have the evidence to support my frustration.

Mollie provides one of the best massage experiences I've had. Being a wimp and somewhat anemic, I bruise rather easily. Some massage therapists I've tried have a rather brutal approach to loosening muscles and lean to heavily on their elbows. Mollie uses a gentle, circular motion that relaxes me completely and still works deeply into my clenched muscles. I always feel a couple of inches taller when she's finished. Her studio is right in the heart of downtown Edmonds, less than a block from one of my favorite coffee shops - Walnut Street Coffee (a great place to continue a relaxing afternoon). The loft space she uses is decorated like a beach cottage, and with the soothing music and just a touch of clean fragrance - I feel transported to an ocean resort. I appreciate that Mollie doesn't use overly strong scents in her oil/lotions, but just enough to clear the head. You won't regret spending an hour with these healing hands!
