If youre thinking about purchasing a groupon or package for laser services-- DONT. I concluded my laser treatment months ago and it's been ineffective, as well as a terrible overall experience. I wouldn't recommend services by the man in the white coat who constantly brags about "performing more laser treatments than anyone in the PNW and Canada". (who keeps that data??) The white coat tricks people into thinking he's a doctor and it's weird. 1) Hair grows back a few months after even though Gordon said the treatment would provide "pretty permanent" removal. 2) Gordon has made some pretty inappropriate comments about how since I have fair skin, my skin "is more reasonable than a Black person's". I found that comment to be very unnecessary and it could have been phrased more delicately. 3) Unnecessary touching. Too much touching on the back, shoulders, etc. during conversation. It made me uncomfortable. 4) He doesn't wear gloves! He will apply aloe on your skin after laser.. with his bare hands after handling money and front desk duties. No hand washing has ever been seen! I've had to ask that he wear gloves before touching me. Lesson learned-- you get what you pay for. read more

I've had great results for laser hair removal with Gordon. It was easy to book an appointment and good availability. I have fair skin and some light hairs but doing 6 treatments in cycles has still given great results for difficult to treat areas. I would have liked to see table paper changed between patients and laser gun and glasses wiped down between patients, which didn't always happen when he is busy. I have nothing but good things to say about my laser hair treatment experience. I have now had three sessions and have virtually no hair growth in between sessions (tiny patch here and there after only two treatments), but so far so good. As a medical professional, I am aware that laser hair removal is actually supposed to be called reduction and if anyone tells you otherwise- they are misleading you. I checked with the medi-spa at a high end plastic surgery office that I go to, and they said the same thing- no one should be giving you a guarantee that it won't ever come back, but it will definitely be reduced if you do have hair growth return. Also, the most expensive spas are using the latest and greatest laser hair removal machines and Olena's spa is using the exact same machine at a much MUCH lower price than I was quoted at the fancy spa I typically go to. I found the spa to be very clean, and Gordon has been nothing but professional regarding appointment scheduling, payment, and the actual treatments. Seriously can't think of something to complain about, and have recommended them to a few family members. read more

I've been seeing Gordon for laser hair removal for nearly a year now. I did a lot of research prior to choosing this place. What sold me over other places was how knowledgeable he was over the phone when I first called with a few questions. He spent a great deal of time answering me in detail, prior to me even spending any money! You can tell that he cares and is very dedicated with his work, something a lot of people lack. I purchased 6 session bundle (underarm, arms, and lower legs) directly from him rather than going through Groupon. Please do not purchase from Groupon, they take a huge (50%!!!) cut from small businesses who don't have much other leeway in terms of advertising. Support small businesses and buy directly. Gordon matched the same price that was on Groupon, and at least now I know that he is receiving all of it. For reference, I am very fair skinned with black hair (Asian). After 6 treatments, the Venus Versa didn't do much (lower legs). Most of the hair came back, but at least I know that type of treatment does not work for me. The Alexandrite (laser with the puff of air) worked very well on my arms and underarms. In the future, I will have Alexandrite done on my legs instead, as it showed very good reduction on my arms. To the people leaving negative reviews... Understand this is permanent hair REDUCTION and certainly will take more than 6 sessions to get all of your hair removed. He makes this very clear that it is not a one and done, magically all your body hair is gone. If you are brown or black, you will probably burn. It's unfair to leave negative reviews based on your own gross negligence. You do laser hair treatments at your own risk. read more

I originally came to use a Groupon - for laser hair removal. Olena talked me into buying more, which they offered at the same Groupon price. My first experience was a bit odd initially, I didn't completely know what to expect, and she didn't necessarily talk me through it - just wanted to get to business. She did tell me I should have very good results, and she was correct. I tried to make some small talk during my appointment, but like I said she just gets down to business. Olena told me she is Russian, so I think that was just likely a cultural thing. I didn't find her prejudicial by any means. Then I had some treatments with Gordon - and I can't say enough good things. He has a much more easy-going personality, and seemed happy to answer any questions I had - and also when I pointed out areas where I had some stray growth, he went to those right away. I got a package through Groupon over a year ago, and it took me a while to use it. I don't know why I hesitated. I stared back in December, had my five months now and I'm so happy with the results! I'd say 85-90% of my problem hair is gone. Olenna is to the point, but I appreciate it. I'd rather be told "hey, you thought you needed a small package: you don't, you need to go up,"and ensure I'm happy with the end result than not get something that's worth my time. I have gotten my lashes done by several different lash technicians. I've seen the good, the bad, and the UGLY. This place was very clean, however I left with the worst burns I have received yet to my retina. Oh the things we do to be pretty!! I bought a Groupon for underarm laser treatment and during my 4th session, Gordon burned my right underarm. He knew this happened but didn't say anything. I saw him turn down the laser temperature and continued with my left underarm. My left underarm was fine since he lowered the temperature but my right underarm was burned. I previously had a botched Smart Lipo job done (at a local place that advertises a lot on TV) to correct a few vanity pounds. The SmartLipo left my stomach a lumpy, bumpy mess with a lot of loose skin. I sought out Olena to help reduce the lumpiness and tighten up the skin on my stomach. Olena has the best rates for Venus Legacy and I found her to be a really nice helpful person, too. After 6 visits with Olena, the skin on my stomach improved so much! I've always been treated like royalty here. Gordon is absolutely above and beyond in his customer service, and always makes me feel comfortable and pampered. I purchased the underarm laser package, as well as half legs. My underarm hair is completely gone, and it's been 7 months already since treatment completion without any sign of it showing it's ugly face again. I just had my 2nd half-leg treatment less than a month ago, and the difference is very much apparent. I've been to other spas in the area (even out of the area) to sample a bit, but have never received such wonderful service as I did with Olena's, so I've always ended up coming back, and likely always will. Regardless of which package you buy, or how much money you spend here, they will still treat you like a valued client, and welcome you back with open arms. I've been to a higher end spa after my boyfriend booked a surprise visit sampler, and we were unfortunately treated in a rather inferior way compared to clients who spend more. Totally unacceptable! But Olena's is always professional, and their decor is beautiful, and is the perfect peaceful serenity for the short wait with the soft music they play. THE WORST! How can anyone give this "spa" a good review? Rachel is right! Olena has some prejudicial issues. Of course, she's Russian herself so I don't quite get it - but hey I'm white, so what do I know? When I moved to Portland I needed to find a new spa for my bikini line/facial/massage/ wrap/whatever vain necessity-o-the-month I develop. Inspired by the good reviews here I went in for a bikini wax. Olena talked me into the Groupon 6 laser treatment special. What a deal! That was the last time she was remotely pleasant to me. She made me sit off in a dark corner before my appointments while she helped other people. She yelled at me for not marking the areas I wanted removed, then she yelled at me for marking them. I went to the bathroom beforehand so she wouldn't make me use the one out in the back yard.... She also ignores ALL direction. After 3 visits and a bikini line that permanently resembled the leaning tower of Pisa I had a meltdown and yelled until the guy that works with her agreed to get her under control and get my bikini line fixed. After that her smile could have cracked glass. As I left appointment #5 she scared the heck out of me when she abruptly perked up and reminded me, joyfully, that she offers many more treatments!!!!! I couldn't get out fast enough. I am getting my bikini line fixed elsewhere. Frankly, if I want to be abused I can go visit the folks and get that for free, I don't need to pay some stranger to do the honors! I purchased a Groupon for 6 laser hair removal treatments at a great value. When I came to my first appointment I found the place clean and well arranged which made me feel good about my purchase. My first three appointments were with Olena. She wasn't particularly friendly but I didn't mind too much. What I found a little bit annoying was that she didn't seem to care to give a good service. I felt she didn't pay too much attention to the spots she was treating. Also I mentioned at the beginning that my skin wasn't sensitive but she insisted on using a really low laser strength. My last three appointments were with Gordon. He was very friendly and easy going. He was a lot more thorough and he asked me how comfortable I was with the laser's strength and wanted to go higher to bring me results, which I appreciated. I have coined the idea of turning laser hair removal into shock therapy. It feels kind of like snapping a rubber band on your skin, right? Well, the whole 5 minutes of laser hair removal, I think of something I'd like to think of negatively. Say-eating. Or-a guy you're not quite over yet. This turns it into free shock therapy-like maybe when you think of him, you'll remember that pain and not remember the good times? Hey, never hurts. Well-a little but that's lasers. I came for six treatments here, and am starting another round. The building is large, there's lots of parking and privacy isn't much of an issue here-I'm sure you'll run into other patrons on occasion but for the most part I can only hear them. All I've seen is the laser room, but the space is set up quite cozy, in a relaxing, sterile and professional environment. The treatments are quick, and worked fairly well, I only have a few spots where hair wants to grow. Now let's just hope hair doesn't come back into style like big eyebrows. read more

I have been to this spa twice for services and both times the service was excellent. Better yet I saw immediate results from the services - the first one was a green coffee/seaweed body wrap and I lost about 5 pounds shortly after receiving it (after having spent three months exercising like crazy and not losing weight). The spa is also absolutely gorgeous inside and very well set up with all of the facilities one might need - (sauna, steam room, fitness center, salon, jacuzzi, etc.) Have only had good experiences here. I can't recommend this place enough! I have gotten laser hair removal on two parts of my body now, both here, and not only was it extremely affordable but extremely effective. My armpits used to grow back hair by the end of the day if I shaved in the morning. Now there is just nothing growing back. My armpits are smooth as butter! It's amazing. Got this medium hair laser section through groupon. Went and booked my appointment. At my first appointment, I was told to sit down and needed to go through an "review of what is laser and what does it do?" . Cool! Seemed like a good place. But what I was not told was the $20 fee because he took his time to explain things to me. Oh well!!! Then he told me that I should not have purchased this section through groupon because they have to pay a fee for them????!!!!! Then why would they post their deal there ????!!!! During the 5/6 sections, there was not once the room was clean. The paper on the table didn't get changed after each client. They always changed it in front of me. I was used paper, dirt on the table. Not even bother to sanitize or wipe down the area. 2 stars for the friendliness. But beyond that, I would not come back. read more
