No, we made the mistake of using one of their competitors who took +5 visits over 2 months to complete the task. However, once that headache was resolved, we did make the RIGHT DECISION to partner with SERVPRO to complete the repair portion of the process and thank God we did because we had the privilege of working with Mr. Gordon Brown, General Manager; SERVPRO. From the beginning, Gordon took the time to insure we had a clear understanding of what the repair process entailed including potential "surprises" that might arise given our particular situation and his vast knowledge and experience that he had accumulated over his career in the construction industry. I could go into exhaustive detail and cite numerous examples of Gordon's promptness, attention to detail, ability to delivery, and just creating a comfortable working relationship with my wife and I but I won't. Suffice to say that Gordon Brown was the major reason why we are now avid SERVPRO clients and will recommend them to all our friends. Everyone else who bid on the project wanted to burn the wood or haul it to the dump. Deconstruction Works has an arrangement where you can save wood from old structures and donate it to a nonprofit for a tax credit (which is a great idea, very win-win). We liked this model as we weren't sure how much of the wood we would re-use, and it was good to know that little would go to waste. His price was a little higher than the competition, but we more than made up for this in the value of the lumber salvaged, and the service was excellent.

The idea that the materials are being reused, the savings over straight demolition and the potential tax savings are really the icing on the cake to what was a great experience overall. I had a few pieces of furniture that needed to be taken apart and reassembled and they did it all no problem.
