Great Communication! Fair pricing! Picked up a Craigslist purchase for us, from Vermont, delivered it to New Hampshire when we wanted it. Saved us a six hours hour round trip drive. Well worth it. Nice people. read more

Custom Moving & Storage did a local move for me, literally two blocks up the road but down a few flights of stairs. They were great. They came and scoped out the job beforehand to write me a quote. They were accommodating to my schedule, showed up right on time, and all four movers were professional and friendly. They paid attention to my moving instructions, took care with my things, and were speedy without being sloppy. They all worked together well as a team and I mostly stayed out of their way and let them do their thing. I had a few pieces of furniture that needed to be taken apart and reassembled and they did it all no problem. Their pricing was competitive with other movers and the quality of their work was much higher than I've experienced with other companies during other moves. I would not hesitate to hire them again. read more

Highly recommend Custom Moving & Storage! I hired them to move an antique dry sink from Lebanon to Grantham and they did a fantastic job. They offered a two-hour minimum window, which was just what I needed, and very competitive pricing. John and Mike arrived right on time and were friendly and professional. They handled my item my care and unloaded it with ease (even navigating a steep and snowy driveway). I would hire them again in a heartbeat! read more

I highly recommend this moving company. They are punctual, efficient, respectful of COVID precautions, and careful with your valued possessions (and your crap!). Used them to move out of a house and have just used them to move into a house. Wonderful group of workers. read more

A single call to Custom Movers resulted in a positive, low stress moving experience. A timely date was set and competitve hourly rate was quoted. On moving day communication was maintained regarding arrival time. The team of movers were polite, respectful of belongings, working quickly and carefully accomodating delivery and storage of items. Would recommend Custom Movers to friends and family. read more

What a bitter disappointment :( My wife and I used Custom to move from Barnard, VT to Lebanon, NH last year, and had a fantastic experience. The three guys who moved us were friendly, VERY professional, prepared to handle anything we threw at them, and were very fast. (You can read our review of that move, here: http://www.yelp.com/biz/custom-moving-and-storage-west-lebanon#hrid:Jp71hL30d3RZGQBcmKbmUg ) So, when we found out that Custom also moved folks all the way to NYC, it was a no-brainer when we wanted to move from Lebanon, back to the city. The three guys we had originally were gone. Instead, a husband-and-wife team showed up. Though they had a large enough van, they were barely prepared, in terms of supplies and equipment, for what we had to move, which in this case, was a very SMALL subset of our total belongings (we moved out of a house, and into a studio in Chelsea). Whenever any item was too awkward or bulky, I was required to give verbal permission to move it, and the man waived every responsibility for anything that might happen if he moved it. Sure enough, when we got to NYC, a few very expensive and important pieces of furniture were in fact damaged, and when I confronted the mover about it, all he had for me, was blame and recrimination. Multiple movers have moved this furniture all over the eastern seaboard, including three dodgy Russians who barely spoke any english. None of them had any problem moving this furniture, not even the last crew from Custom. What's more, I PAID for $20k of insurance to cover any damages. So, why, when something gets damaged, am I only getting push-back and excuses? What's more, when the couple got to new york with our stuff, it took them OVER AN HOUR (parked square in the middle of 24th street, I might add), to decide what to do with our stuff. Then, it took them another THREE AND A HALF HOURS to get it out of their truck and up to our apartment. Half way through this process, I had to go to the building management to ask for an extension on keeping the loading dock doors open, and ended up going to the basement and grabbing armloads of our stuff MYSELF, and bringing it up, while the pair were doing god-knows-what. I literally did 1/3 of the moving job myself. As a gesture of generosity for that, we were offered $100 off the move cost. Big deal. You've already cost us hundreds in furniture repairs, offered no recourse through the insurance, and BLAMED ME, to boot. Thanks, but no thanks. I'll never use Custom for anything ever again. read more

I can't say enough about how wonderful these movers are! My move included a couple of rooms of furniture, including antique family heirlooms, from a house on a dirt road high on a hill. They negotiated the tricky driveway with no problem (up & down!) and moved the furniture efficiently and carefully. Mike and Bobby are friendly, and did an outstanding job. The price was also very reasonable. Next time I have to move, these are the folks I will call!! I recommend them highly and without reservation. read more

Custom Moving and Storage made my mom's move go very well. Their staff was very professional: thorough, timely, as well as extremely friendly and considerate. I would certainly do business with them again and highly recommend them. read more

Very fast and efficient. Nothing was damaged in the move. They were courteous and had good humor. The minimum review length is ridiculous.

This is mostly because I had a scheduled appointment and they had my number wrong in the system. 5 days prior to my appointment, I called because I had not received communication regarding my move. I got a call back letting me know they had cancelled all appointments. I would highly recommend writing the number down and reading back the number to ensure correct information is recorded. read more

We could not be more pleased with Custom Moving and Storage. They moved us from Ct to Nh. Everything was handled professionally and on time. Mike, Trevor, Evan, and Chris were kind, considerate, and very personable. mail. We already had a few pieces of furniture in the Nh house which needed to be moved to different rooms before bringing in the things from Ct. No problem. They kindly moved everything we needed. All the Ct furniture was brought and set up carefully. They positioned furniture and in some cases re-positioned it when we changed our minds. We have a baby grand piano. When they took it apart in Ct, they discovered the locking block was broken and had apparently been taped together in some prior move. Yikes! That means the piano could have collapsed at any time! When they delivered the piano in Nh, they'd made a new locking block and repaired the cracked one just so we'd have a spare. Fantastic! When the guys finished and drove out with the truck, they stopped and Mike got out. The tires had made small ruts in our gravel driveway. Mike goes into the garage, gets a shovel, and fills the ruts. I mean, who does that? So, very very nice. Custom Moving and Storage has my highest recommendation. Thank you for a great move!!! read more

I was very pleased with Custom Moving and Storage! We adopted a piano (very heavy!) and needed to have it moved quickly, and into a house that went up 10 external stairs. The job was booked within a day and the movers were very professional, timely, and did a great job with the heavy piano. I would definitely book them again for any other moving needs! read more

We just worked with Custom Moving to move during the holidays. They sent a team of seven very efficient guys and a truck loader who is like a Jenga master. Nothing broken, great attitudes, on time, and kept our house clean on a snowy, cold day. We will call them again. Thank you! read more

I can no longer recommend Custom Moving for anything after the shambles that was our move from Lebanon to NYC. I'll only say one thing: If they send you three friendly, responsible men, use them. If they send you a husband and wife team, RUN, DO NOT WALK, THE OTHER WAY. read more

Friendly and careful they moved my mother-in-law from Grantham to Concord, dropping off furniture at our house along they way. A+

I have had Custom Moving and Storage for 5 moves. Every singe time they could not be more pleasant, professional, and consistent with their deliveries and timing. I give them an A+ !! read more

We hired Custom movers to move from our 2 bed room apartment in Lebanon, NH back to Princeton,NJ. Chris came by to give an in-person estimate, friendly and willing to discuss price and date. Once we agreed on the price, date and time, the movers (Jeff and Jeremy) were there on time to pick up and load our furniture into a van dedicated for our move alone. Jeff has a great attitude and a sense of humor, willing to do what it took to make our move painless and stress-free. The furniture was packed and reassembled without damage and the unloading was also equally painless and well done. Jeff was willing and helpful, getting the boxes and furniture to the right rooms and ready to help move and rearrange things as needed. I recommend them wholeheartedly. Thank you Custom Movers!! read more

I had a great experience with Custom Moving. Chris came out the day before my scheduled move to assess how many movers we needed and offer an approximate estimate of time. On the day of the move, the gentlemen moving me were punctual, polite, and positive at every step. Their confidence encouraged mine. They worked with care for my belongings and expressed a strong work ethic. They couldn't have worked more efficiently and effectively. They earned every penny of the fee. I would definitely hire them again. read more

Custom Movers did a fabulous job on our move! They were above and beyond the BEST! They flexed when our move dates changed and were super efficient and polite to work with over three days of packing, loading and delivery! The guys worked really well with us and each other an coordinated every step of the way. They moved some very heavy furniture and a Steinway Grand Piano without a hitch! I HIGHLY recommend this team. You will be happy you called these guys and avoided the 'moving nightmare!" I'd use them again in a heartbeat! Alisa Brisson, Realtor. Hanover, NH read more

Custom Moving and Storage moved our entire house-full of furniture and boxes from Vermont to Maine. They did everything they said they would do and when they said they would do it. The team that packed us up and loaded the truck were obviously professionals who had been doing this for a while. The truck packing was like an amazing jig-saw puzzle. They arrived in Portland on-time and unloaded with the same professionalism and courteous manner we experienced in Vermont. The price was right, nothing was lost or damaged and we felt like our own family had moved us. We thank you Jeff and crew, and thank the owners for a great job. Best move we've even had. Custom Moving moved us from a 2600 square foot home in Vermont to our new home in Massachusetts. Chris came out to the house and was extremely professional and he gave us a fair quote. On moving day, Jeff, Tim and Derek showed up and were some of the nicest guys I have ever met. They were extremely careful with all of our possessions, they made sure all the items going to a self storage place were loaded last, and they were fun. They are all so hard working, and we couldn't have asked for more. This is the company to use when you are ready to move. read more

We hired them for our third move because we were extremely satisfied how they handled our first two moves! Chris and his guys (especially, Evan) are absolutely wonderful! They packed everything very professionally and moved all our belongings to new locations without any damage or loss. They were always helpful and courteous to us in the process and we are extremely grateful for their assistance. They truly conducted themselves professionally! We strongly recommend them! read more

Although they were recommended to me by a local acquaintance, I was concerned about these movers since the local reviews were excellent but the yelp review about a New York City move was not -- and Manhattan was where I needed my things to be. Chris at Custom Moving couldn't have been more responsive with a reasonable explanation of what led to the unfavorable review, and I felt confident that they would do my job right -- and they did. (Whew!) Not only were they careful with my things (they carefully packed or protected anything that was not already boxed up), but they were also great about letting me know where they were at every point along the route, from setting out to arrival. Both of the movers were pleasant and helpful and all my things arrived in good shape, on time, and for the price agreed upon. I appreciated that I could pay by personal check, something that doesn't happen in the city. Dealing with everyone at Custom Moving made me remember how nice folks are in the Upper Valley! read more
