It was so clean and looked brand new even though it's 30 years old! Chad was the picture of hospitality. He was very knowledgeable on all the wines and even though we arrived within an hour of closing (we were those people today, I swear we usually aren't), he never rushed us. He was warm, patient, kind, and made us feel incredibly special. And the wine was unique and tasty. I have had a lot of wine (hello 2020) and this certainly measured up there on my list. We left with 3 bottles and some amazing homemade fall sangria in adult Capri Sun style pouches. If you live in the area or if you need a pit stop on your road trip, this place is definitely worth the stop!

So I was a little unsure whether the wine selection at Beliveau Farm Winery would be for me. But I'm happy to say that these guys are making some great wine. Yvan and Joyce, the owners, know what they are doing in terms of grapes and wine, because they have traveled and enjoyed wine from all around the world. They have a good thing going on here. When I visited, I did a wine tasting, which was paired with different flavored potato chips. So I got to taste several different wines. I'm more of a red wine gal, but one of my favorites at Beliveau is the Crazy Professor, which is a white wine blend: Vidal Blanc, Chardonel, Pinot Gris. They also have a tasty Cab Franc (one of my favorites, too), and another Crazy Professor wine, but this one is a red called The Professor's Crazy Estate Blend, which is Cab Franc, Syrah, Merlot and Tempranillo. Almost all of my favorites in one bottle! So, yes, you will find some great Virginia wines here. You can enjoy a glass indoors or outdoors. I hope you sit outdoors, though, because the grounds are beautiful and expansive. This place is kid-friendly and pet-friendly, too. There's lots of open space for kids to run around, and some big rocks for them to climb on.

The staff and owner/head distiller are nothing short of the epitome of southern hospitality. They will answer any questions you have and take really good care of you. I got a tour while I was there and was even allowed to taste the raw spirits right out of the still...that'll grow some hair on your chest! They have soooo many types and flavors of moonshine it's insane. My favorite spirits were the "Charred in a jar" series. They put a toasted oak stave inside of each jar so the spirits continue to age naturally. I bought a couple bottles of the Apple Butter flavor and put them in my garage so I'd get huge temp changes, it's already gotten better in six months. I need to buy more and age them like that for a few years. When I was there they were having a private event and everyone was dressed from the roaring 20's which was really cool to see. I will be back!

They have one bathroom available to customers but it was very clean, well-stocked with supplies, and the water was hot with good pressure (which is important for hand cleanliness). This trip was a 5 hour drive from where we live, so if we come back again, it would be for another family reunion. But, if you're local or a short drive away, it's definitely worth checking it out.

Staff was nice enough to let us try the Off Dry Flight in turn. They are dog friendly as long as dog is friendly and leashed.
