This place is...interesting, in a good way. When I was told I was going out of town for a work…read moreevent in West Virginia and this was the name of the place. I had no idea exactly what this place was. My colleague kept referring to it as just a Moose. And a lot of use know that means something else, more in lines with a bar. The person that invited us out to here for the event didn't give us much information about what we should expect. But I am happy I came here, because of how unique of a place this is. Most people would assume that this may be a place for ice cream and you'd be partially right. This place is a mix of things that you would not expect. First and foremost, it is a well used coffee shop. Even though there is a well known national competitor right up the road. There is a steady stream of vehicles in and out throughout the day. Inside, in the coffee portion of the space, it gives definite coffee shop vibes. Couches, armchairs, tables, books, magazines, etc. That coziness could be a big draw on a cold day. I had myself a chai tea latte from here and it was delicious. They are quick with their ordering process and making of the drink. What else is here you ask? Well, let me tell you. There is an ice cream parlor tucked away on the opposite side of the coffee shop. You can enter this through the coffee shop or from the outside entrance on the side of the building. This area, then leads you to another location on the lot. Putt-Putt. Behind the building, there is a miniature golf course built into the hillside. One that is West Virginian history themed. Another thing this place has is an indoor climbing wall. I didn't get a chance to check that out.

When my children went…read moreit was stop motion Animation focused and there were several modules where kids could self directedly build their own stop motion videos. There was also a room with tactile and thinking puzzles as well as a drawing/tracing light board and library nook. I would say the optimal age range that's going to enjoy it is 7-12 but the little ones enjoyed it as well, not crowded on a Saturday, it was $5 per person and is good for about an hour/hour and a half of activity, great kids activity for a weekend or on a rainy day, there was also a planetary exhibit not open while we were there. I've been to many kids museums and while this one is small it's a great resource to let a kid loose to freely create, and it's a great utility for Beckley and southern WV

I guess two Asians wandering around scream tourists. There were odd knick knacks and country home decor items on one side of the store. I even found a pair of earrings that didn't appear to be made in China. On the other, there were plenty of food items: fruits, candy, snacks, spices, drinks, and more. The sodas, peach pie, pepperoni roll were great. We swung around for a 2nd trip to grab more sodas (buy 3, get 1 free deal) and grabbed the pepperoni roll and peach pie dessert.
