Mixed feelings here. This flea market is brand new, only about a month old, tucked into a "ghost town" on the edge of Manor. My expectations were low, and honestly, it shows. But every new market deserves some time and space to grow.
That said, much of what I saw felt like bottom-shelf yard sale leftovers. When Goodwill starts looking like a high-end boutique by comparison, that's not a good sign.
Here's what would make this place thrive:
1. Attract higher-quality vendors: local produce, artisan goods, handmade crafts, soaps, honey, farm-to-market items. Give us something worth seeking out.
2. Step up promotion: word of mouth isn't enough. You need internet buzz, Yelp, radio, flyers, community outreach. Get people curious, then give them a reason to come back.
The good news: the location is solid, parking is easy, and the potential is there. To be fair, I scored a killer authentic incense burner boat from India (real wood, heavy, $5 with incense packs included), some lion earrings for a buck, palo santo for $5, and a couple of lighters for 50 cents. So yes, there are gems, but right now you have to dig HARD for them.
I'm rooting for this market. Don't settle for what it is. Grow into what could be. Three stars for now. read more
