I used Old Towne for my inspection, Ben S. was my inspector (there are TWO Bens!) For starters, they were able to schedule something for me within 24 hours which really helped with my high anxiety about my potential new home, where all other inspectors had no availability for a week. AMAZING! I was very pleased with the thorough report I received the very same day of the inspection, which was of the highest quality I have ever seen. During the inspection, Ben S. provided me with great information, showing me everything I needed to see, and answered all of my questions in a way that allowed me to really understand what was going on. He provided excellent tips, tricks, and suggestions for mitigating some small items and keeping the home in great shape for years to come. The home he inspected was 100+ years old, and I feel comfortable moving forward with my purchase thanks to him. The cost of Old Towne Inspection was much higher than all the other inspectors in the 25401 area, but a home purchase in the hundreds of thousands is not something that you want to be cheap about and the thoroughness of the inspection I received was worth every penny. Don't think twice, use Old Towne! read more

The inspector, Michael Wiseman, was prompt, courteous and very thorough! As a first time homebuyer, I appreciated his attention to detail and his thoroughness more than I can express. I was leery of getting a new build home inspected because it seemed unnecessary with everything being brand new, but he found things that I likely wouldn't have even thought to look at and were problematic or could be problematic for me in the future. It was the second part of that statement that I appreciated the most because it could have been costly to repair or replacement years down the line and I would have had no idea that it could be prevented with it being right from the start. Thankfully nothing was a major problem, but little things matter when you're paying a pretty penny for a home. I would absolutely recommend Mr. Wiseman to anyone looking to make sure their home , NEW or old, is as it should be. The pricing was very reasonable and competitive with rates from others in the area. They were also able to accommodate a short notice request in a busy time of the year for home buying. Overall, thrilled with the service and price. read more

Ben completed a pre-drywall inspection for us on a new construction. For starters, we typically get estimates from at least three different vendors before deciding who we want to work with. Ben clearly stood out for the following reasons. 1. He has an informative website with lots of useful information including what a home inspection includes, a sample home inspection report, services offered, and pricing and packages. We selected the Staple - New Construction package that covers both the pre-drywall and final inspections. 2. Unlike some of the others we contacted, Ben is easy to reach via phone, email, or text. Communication is critical. 3. You can schedule the inspection on his website, which makes it easier for everyone. 4. Ben was familiar with the builder we were using, which again, makes it easier for everyone. 5. Ben's report to us included five recommendations, which we believed reasonable. We quickly provided these recommendations to the builder who promptly addressed them to our satisfaction. Given our satisfaction thus far, we are looking forward to collaborating with Ben on our final inspection. read more

I had my inspection and pest control done earlier today. Ben was very professional and very thorough. At the start we exchanged what to expect and how he does the inspection. After he was done we went over some issues that came up and he took time to show some of them to me and explain them. He also looked at some things I had brought up and explained them as well. The full report was send to me later that day and plenty of pictures were included to make clear what he found during his inspection with explanations written besides each picture. The color-coding next to each picture helps you with the level of urgency it needs to be addressed or needs to be monitored. Very helpful. I believe I received good quality with an attractive price and super convenient you can have an inspection a pest control and a radon reading appointment done at the same time. Radon reading is still in progress at this time. Awaiting result later this week. read more

I had a great experience with Old Towne Inspection. Matt did an extremely thorough inspection and took the time to explain everything he was seeing along the way. He happily answered all of my questions without ever making me feel rushed, and his knowledge and professionalism really gave me confidence in the process. Partway through the inspection, the entire neighborhood experienced a power outage, but Matt was incredibly flexible and adapted to the situation without missing a beat. He started inspecting things that didn't require power until it was restored a short while later, and made the whole experience as smooth as possible. The inspection report was comprehensive, easy to understand, and delivered very quickly. If you're looking for someone who is knowledgeable, personable, and genuinely cares about doing a thorough job, I highly recommend Matt and Old Towne Inspection. read more

Our daughter and son in law bought their first home and Ben did the inspection. Of course, they sent it to mom and dad to "be an extra set of eyes" on such a huge 1st purchase. We were shocked - AND IMPRESSED! Ben did an amazingly thorough job. SO, we are looking to purchase a house in the area to be near our kiddos and who did we use? Without hesitation any whatsoever, we called Ben at Old Towne Inspection. From the smallest of things with our kids purchase of new construction, to the more major things with our possible purchase of a house from the 80's - his service is unbeatable and so reasonably priced; well worth the cost if you are considering spending hundreds of thousands! Did I say he was courteous given the COVID19 issues of late, took over 2 hours at the residence and we had it within 24 hours. Give them a call - you won't be disappointed. read more

Ben and Matt were the first to arrive to meet my husband and me for the inspection at the house we are waiting to buy. They greeted us enthusiastically, explained the process of how they would conduct the inspection, and encouraged us to ask questions then and again at the conclusion of the inspection. They committed to submit the detailed inspection report to us on that day, which they did. We were present during the inspection and observed how experienced, thorough and knowledgeable they clearly were. The written report was comprehensive and provided recommendations for how to follow up to address each issue. I wish everyone we deal with in a service industry was as professional, quality oriented and respectful of the customer as Ben and Matt with Olde Towne Inspection were. read more

Ben inspected our home that we are selling. We wanted to know what to expect from the buyer's inspector when the house sells. Ben was prompt, courteous and did not bring any water into the house as it was raining the day of the inspection. After each section he took the time to explain what he found. He even made suggestions such as caulking on some of the window sills. There was one area that he was not sure my wiring met code. He checked and I made the correction. His report can back the same day. He even made suggestions to a problem I was having that had nothing to do with the inspection. His suggestion solved the problem. I was vey impressed with his professionalism. I would highly recommend Ben at Old Towne Inspection. Dan - Winchester, VA read more

Ben and his team at Old Towne Inspection are the only home inspectors you need in the Shenandoah Valley and Frederick County region. My finace and I recently purchased a home in downtown Winchester that was built in 1940 and they did a VERY DETAILED write up on what things needed to be improved upon as well as giving us confidence in completing our purchase. We were referred by Dave Spence at Icon Realty and other friends locally. They have 300+ 5/5 star reviews and there's a reason why! We were out of town at the holidays and we able to book our inspection online very easily without even needing to make a phone call! Thanks Ben! - Winston & Rebecca read more

We used Old Towne Inspection based on our Realtor's suggestion, given that we do not already live in Winchester. We're glad to have worked with Ben & Old Towne Inspection! The inspection, and the clean format of the report, were SO HELPFUL. This was really important to us because we could not be there in person for the inspection with him. It was clear that he spent the time to do an incredibly thorough job, and it was easy for us to decipher where the trouble spots were in the home. Happy to say that we've worked out an agreement with the sellers on which items will be repaired, and we are moving forward with the purchase! read more

Benjamin was able to schedule our home inspection with less than a week's notice. He sent us information before the inspection so we would know what to expect. He made sure we were aware of the timing on the day of the inspection so we could attend if we chose to; unfortunately, we were out of town. The same day he did the inspection he called us and explained what he found and what was important to consider before buying our new home. The inspection document arriving in our email less than 8 hours after the inspection. Great communication and advice! read more

Ben was fantastic. Throughout the inspection process, he was always accessible, even answering his own phone! No third-person gatekeepers, no frustrating games of telephone tag. During those chats, Ben patiently and expertly answered a myriad of questions. As for the inspection, it was complete and easily understood. What questions arose, once again, Ben answered each one with his customary good cheer and professionalism. I would highly recommend Ben for home inspections as this high-octane housing market rolls on. Thanks, Ben. You're the best. read more

We just finished up our first ever home inspection. And I am so glad we chose Old Towne Inspection! Ben Morehead was fantastic. He was professional, polite and answered every question we had. No stone was left unturned and I feel like we had an unbiased and helpful eye looking at our, hopefully, future home. He was also very respectful and considerate of appropriate safety precautions as this was done during the Covid pandemic. I would recommend, 10/10, and would call again if we ever need another inspection. read more

Ben's attention to detail and professional attitude is a breath of fresh air. He goes above and beyond the call. He inspects homes as if he were the owner. He takes pride in what he does and it clearly shows! From Old Towne's website to the professional inspection reports customers receive, everything Ben does is top notch. Receiving an opinion from Ben on my recent home purchase provided me with with the added peace of mind that I had made a great home buying decision. Thanks, Ben! read more

Old Town Inspection was a great choice for our new home inspection and radon testing! Ben M. was very responsive in setting up a quick turnaround for the inspection - and answered all my questions quickly. Ben S. was prompt to the inspection location, thorough in his observations, and produced a very clearly organized and understandable report the same day. He called me to go over the findings and it was a perfect and non-stressful experience. I highly recommend them. read more

Such a fantastic home inspector. Unfortunately, the house we were looking at had a long list of serious issues that he uncovered quickly. We decided to back out and are relieved to have had such an efficient, thorough and honest inspection that saved us from a disastrous financial decision. I know we will absolutely be using him again for the next house we put a contract on and cannot recommend him enough! read more

I am really impressed by the work of Olde Town Inspection. They have a very modern computer application for inspections that outputs a very clear and easy to understand report. The first house we had inspected was a disaster waiting to happen, and if it wasn't for Mr. Morehead's thorough and diligent report, we may have been up for numerous expensive and dangerous problems had we purchased it. read more

Very nice guy who definately knew his stuff. He worked fast but efficiently and was very open to changing arrival times and the actual meeting. Was more than willing to dumb things down for the less knowledgable of us and also point me in the right direction to get the problems I had fixed. If a family member or I buy a house inn the near future I will definately be recommending him! read more

Old Towne Inspections was recommended to me from a friend that was also a home inspector that covered a different area. I was very happy from the first phone call I made to Old Towne, everyone has a great attitude, very professional and accommodating.
