Tasting is welcomed and small plastic cups are provided. The most difficult part of a visit here is making a selection. We have quite a selection of basalmic vinegars and increased it by 3 today. We were visiting from Dallas and saw this place during a tour the night before. We came back during business hours to check it out. I have been in places like this before, closer to home, but I will tell you I left empty handed every time. These places can be overwhelming with all the choices and what to pair with what. Chantel was amazing with suggesting pairs you may not consider, mixing them and letting us try. We felt welcome to ask questions and she took time to explain why she paired what she did and what it goes with best. I stopped in here this afternoon with a girlfriend and was blown away by the service. One of the employees went above and beyond to make us feel comfortable and created excitement about the products. The employee bubble wrapped it well so it would be safe traveling back to Dallas on the airplane. Stopped in on a whim while on a visit to the area. So glad I did. This place is amazing! The service was outstanding. One of the women stayed with me the whole time answering my questions and asking me questions to get a sense of what I might like. You can taste everything. They have a huge variety of flavors including cinnamon pear (my favorite!), dark chocolate, lemon, and strawberry. Just so much fun to try. There are cards in front of each item that provide a description. I asked if they had extras. They don't, but I really wanted to have the descriptions when I got the bottles home with me. They copied the cards for me. Is this place great or what? They offer shipping via FedEX which was great. It cost maybe 20-25.00 to ship it back to me in North Carolina and it got here exactly when they said it would. All the bottles (I bought five) were packaged very well. No need to worry about anything breaking. If you don't live in the area, like me, and want a refill you can call them and they will take care of it for you. I think I'm pretty stocked up for awhile, and I am looking forward to trying all the delicious flavors I got. read more

Neil exemplified a wealth of knowledge by creating pairings for us to taste and recommending recipes. He helped us select a gift for our hosts in Albuquerque. I live in Southern California and 2 days earlier I had gone to Old Town Santa Fe. I went to an olive oil store there and the guy (who acted like he was the owner) was an absolute jerk. I thought he was a used car salesman. I am telling you this because of the contrasting experience I had at Old Town Olive. The day I went in there was NOBODY in Old Town Albuquerque, and I wandered in to check out this lovely little store. The owner, Nael, was the only one working and he was AMAZING. He was attentive, and thorough. He didn't care how many olive oils and vinegars and I wanted to taste. He was so helpful and accommodating. He mixed oils with different vinegars and explained different types of pairings. He took the time to print off information about pairings and the different types of oils. Nael was a pleasure to talk to and get to know. I am glad he has a website for his shop, so I can make purchases in the future without having to go all the way to Albuquerque. I did purchase a 6 bottle sample package. His prices are VERY reasonable....and for locals, when you buy bottles of olive oils or vinegars...just bring back the empties and he will give you a $2 discount per bottle. Who could ask for more? I have done a lot of olive oil tastings in the past, but no one has been as thorough or informative about their product like Nael. He is a genuinely caring person...not just about you as a "customer," but "you" as a person. A newly opened establishment that offers tastings for extra virgin olive oil and balsamic vinegar. They are a wide variety of oil and vinegar to try, and staff is really knowledgeable and helpful. They also have different bottle sizes, so just in case you don't want to invest a full bottle, you can also take a smaller sample bottle home. They also have shipping services available in case you cannot make the purchase in person. I've tried the tuscan herb olive oil and it is just omg delicious! So I would definitely recommend people to come check out the place! P.S. The only inconvenience on my visit was the purchase. Since they are newly opened, they didn't have cashier set up, so we had to go to the next door pottery shop to swipe our card, but it is just a minor setback in a overall wonderful experience. read more

I absolutely LOVE Old Town Olive. My first compliment would be on the staff. They are so welcoming and inviting! I love bringing out of town visitors here to sample ALL the different olive oils and vinegars they have available here. I usually come in with so many questions "What is this one good with?! How do you pair this one?! Which oil would you recommend with this vinegar?! How much is it for the large bottle?! Do you have the butter olive oil in stock?!" and they are always super nice and will let you sample as much as you want with different pairings. I love this place and usually leave with a new bottle in hand. Right now my favorites are butter flavored (always my favorite because it's good on everything), green chile, lemon, tuscan herb, strawberry vinegar, and the peach vinegar. They always have great ideas what to make with the oils. I love using the butter for my popcorn or even with fish. The green chile is tasty with eggs in the morning or stir fry veggies. Lemon olive oil and strawberry vinegar is the perfect combo for a salad and the tuscan herb is good for bread dipping. If you bring back your bottle to refill, you get a $1 off your purchase which I highly recommend (reduce, reuse, recycle is something I live by). Great product, informative and friendly staff. The staff was extremely helpful in explaining the flavors and let the kids test out a few of the products on popcorn and bread. You see, I liked it so much I was going to have my mom stop in to purchase some more for me when I saw they have a web site.
