Been here three times and planning on many more! I absolutely think this is the best way to enjoy classic, silent films!

This is now my favorite "new" theater in town. I love going to see classic cinema on the big screen, but the mighty Wurlitzer organ makes this location simply magical. Seeing a silent film with live accompaniment was an incredible experience. The theater itself is cozy and the organ takes center stage. It's mesmerizing to watch the chimes and you can feel the low notes from the pipes. There's not a bad seat in the house. They have a popcorn and drink special for $5 which is a great deal. The staff was super friendly and we loved the entire experience.

What a gem. Experienced for the first time "The Wizard of Oz" on a big screen (smaller than I expected, but still wonderful nonetheless!). Staff was very warm, welcoming, and knew everything about anything. Pop in a bottle w/ a box of popcorn (not too salty 'n very fresh) for $5 - what a deal! From the intro by Randy the organist, to his magical performance, to the short Judy Garland film, and to the culmination of the film - what a movie going experience it was! I even enjoyed the coming attractions! Don't miss the hand cranked movie by way of Disneyland in the lobby. Stirling (he's in the concession stand pic) even provides a brief history and a nickel to boot! Plenty of free parking adjacent. Online ticketing a breeze, too. I'll be back...

One of the most unique experiences you will have in Los Angeles. They have one of the last Wurlitzer pipe organs in the USA, right here, in a quaint, wonderfully restored, silent movie theater. The place is almost completely operated by volunteers and they just do a fantastic job featuring movie and history experts, showcasing different types of movies from different eras throughout the year and they couldn't be more friendly to first timers. An amazing date night idea and if you come during October, they feature all the classic creature features like Dracula, Frankenstein, The Mummy and we even saw the cult classic Cat People this season (2024). Tickets are very reasonably priced.

I stumbled upon this lovely piece of history while searching for ideas of things to do with my hubby for his birthday. He loves old movies and things if times gone by. Well, this place delivers! Do not go in thinking you're going to go to a (branded) movie theatre attached to a mall. Think much, much, much, smaller. They have a "snack bar" at the entrance. You can purchase popcorn and a soda and take into the theatre, where you will hold your soda and popcorn and any other belongings you may have brought in with you. No cup holders folks! Old times! The organ plays and history is shared. We saw Swing Time and was a treat. The seats are small. So if you are like my hubs who is well over 6 foot the seats were a bit tight. I did notice the further you sat from the screen the seats appeared to be a little more modern a roomier. The decor was amazing. The volunteer staff so kind and helpful. This was a great experience and afternoon. I recommend it highly. It's not far off the end of the 105 freeway. You can take the HOV lane if you have 2 in the vehicle. Oh the best part, it won't break your pocketbook. It was $10.00 admission for seniors + $1.00 fee. Regular admission I believe was $11.00 + the fee. They are a nonprofit. Take trip back in time, visit Old Town Music Hall, and the El Segundo downtown area.

The stunning architectural details of the theater

What a hidden gem near downtown El Segundo. If you love vintage theaters, films, and music, this is a dream come true. I loved all the architectural details at the theater. During intermission, I wandered around looking at these bygone marvels, including the tiny ticket booth, the art deco paintings on the walls, and framed photos of old-time celebrities. So charming, and a nice escape to a seemingly simpler time. I was able to purchase a ticket to a sold out show, thanks to the kind lady who answered the phone. When I arrived at the theater, she bumped me up to a better seat! The theater is operated by volunteers who clearly love their work and are dedicated to preserving its legacy. If you are looking for something fun and nostalgic to do in LA, give 'em a visit. With Thanksgiving and Christmas approaching, they are offering holiday movies and singalongs. The vintage organ in the theater is definitely a showstopper and I love how it is decorated in neon colors!

Man, this was so much fun! What a classic to watch with my mom. So many childhood memories.

I can't say enough good things about this place. What a gem hidden amongst the restaurants and shops of El Segundo. I first came here a few years back, and never really thought about writing a review. This cute, little theatre is over 100 years old, and full of charm, history, and amazing stories. Watching a movie here transports you back in time to the joy and excitement of the theater. One of the things that make this place so special is, the theater has an original Wurlitzer pipe organ! As mentioned, the theater is old and historic, and is now a Non-Profit 501(c)(3), which means they rely heavily on donations and volunteers to stay open. Old Town Music Hall is open weekends only, showing old motion pictures, cartoons, and silent films. The Mighty Wurlitzer plays dramatically to accompany those silent films, bringing them to life. They do special holiday showings of your favorites for Halloween and Christmas. This place is for all ages and truly special. The latest show I saw was Airplane, and was such a blast! For a classic good time, come to the movies!

First discovered this hidden treasure during the El Segundo Art Walk. The volunteers are so passionate and engaging. So glad they restored this music hall. It's worth it just to walk inside and see the elaborate 1920's era interior (for me, similar to the Pantages Theater). What better movie to first see here than "The Shining". Decked out for Halloween, even with moving things in the women's bathroom. Snack stand at the entrance, I think with soda in glass bottles. There's a pre-show with their famous organ, some sing alongs and a vintage cartoon. Then an intermission before the feature film. Had a great time here. The screen is about 75 percent of the organ pipe wall. They don't move the organ during the film. Just wished I had gotten up for intermission since I sat for over 3 hours straight and my legs needed a good stretching. I think paying $13 online is worthwhile for the whole experience for self-selected seats and because it's a non-profit. Would love to come back! Huge parking lot makes it a guarantee.

What can you say about this place is very well restored, and an excellent venue. It's a little bit off the beaten path in El Segundo and I highly recommend coming to check it out when they're open.

    Alona L.

I had no idea this place exists but it was such a treat! We watched a silent movie accompanied by the sound of 100-year old organ and I was just immersed into the music. This place is magical and I can't wait to go check out a concert here in the coming weeks.

My son has been wanting to see Devil Wears Prada 2 and the first one is one of his favorite movies of all time. Personally, I don't like that movie but I went along with him. Tickets are $25 each and they have a $4 parking garage, but we were lucky enough to get a free after-hour meter on the street. It's a nice place and it seems like comfort is their top priority. The recliner chairs are extremely comfy and come with a blanket in case you get cold. You know how movie theaters are always chilly. Once you get settled, you can press a button that sends an employee over to take your order. It's completely optional. We got one small popcorn (light butter, $6) which was big enough for both of us. I like this idea of having the option of ordering and dining at your seat while watching a movie, but the reality is a bit different. It's kind of annoying to see the employees coming and going when someone needs a refill or places a new order during the movie. You can hear them talking and they can even block your view. It's frustrating when you are trying to focus. With that being said, I think it has more pros than cons. There are bars and bathrooms located across the several floors and the one we went to was exceptionally clean. I probably wouldn't go out of my way to come back to this theatre. I prefer something more standard like AMC or Pacific Theatres (RIP!)...

While I understand policies exist, I was surprised that no reasonable accommodation or alternative seating was offered for a disabled patron who was simply waiting for family. What upset me most was not just the lack of accessibility-minded accommodations, but the dismissive attitude I encountered from several employees and the difficulty I had even obtaining the manager's name. For a theater that emphasizes comfort and premium service, I expected far more compassion, professionalism, and awareness regarding accessibility needs.

That said, the place feels a little dated and could use some updating. Even the screen didn't feel as HD as I expected. The food is average which is fine, I wasn't expecting a five-star dinner but the popcorn was actually really good. My main complaint (and not just mine, the person I was with said the same thing) is the headrest design. It's not comfortable and gave me neck pain and a headache. The headrest sits too high and pushes your shoulders back, leaving no support under your neck, so you kind of have to put something behind your neck to make it comfortable. Overall, still a fun movie experience, just needs some updates to really feel "luxury."

Sounds amazing... until you show up and it's already full... which was what happened. Our movie started at 6:00 PM, we arrived around 5:20 PM, and the garage was completely closed off -- they weren't letting anyone else in. Luckily, we found parking about 3 minutes away and paid around $5, which honestly wasn't too bad. We came here for the second part of our Valentine's date night and watched Wuthering Heights because hello... Margot Robbie is my favorite girl. I haven't been here in over 15 years and WOW -- I forgot how absolutely beautiful this theater is inside. The lobby is spacious, classy, and honestly feels kind of luxurious. There are pool tables, a full bar area downstairs, and spaces where you can hang out with drinks and good company before your movie. We headed straight into our theater and ordered food from our seats (also... water is complimentary, love that). We were seated in our own little pod -- super intimate with two seats, cozy setup, and yes... a blanket. It truly felt like rich people movie night. Shoutout to our server Jake, who was outstanding from start to finish. Great service, super attentive, and made the experience even better. Food-wise: The Boss Burger ($20.5) was a solid 8.5/10 -- hubby really enjoyed it. Although, there were no pickles or tomatoes in there even though it was in their menu. I ordered the Chicken Caesar Wrap ($17), and I'll be honest... it was the only downside of the night. It was a bit cold and tough, and the tortilla-to-filling ratio was a little off for me. I'd give it a 6/10. If the tortilla was a bit warmer I'd think it'll be able to hold onto the filling a bit better, but that was meh, for me. BUT the fries? Piping hot, crispy, and delicious. And Jake even brought us ranch, BBQ sauce, and extra ketchup without us having to ask twice. Overall, this was my husband's first time here, and it definitely won't be our last. We had such a great experience -- the ambience, service, and overall vibe were top-tier. Can't wait for our next cozy movie night here!

So for me it's a toss up between liking this feature and disliking it. The staffers were kind and had enjoyed my friends and my banter about it. We all had a good chuckle. Going on a Monday evening is nice since it's not as busy but also know that it's half the cost on a Tuesday evening. FYI. *It's also hit or miss on cleanliness but overall it seems better here than other venues by the same name. Also note: make sure you're heading to the right La Costa theater because there are two ~~ just in different centers. We didn't make a mistake this time so that was a "Whew!"

Overall, I've had positive movie experiences at this location. Once I've started going to a luxury cinema, I didn't look back at the plain ole movie theaters mainly... - Your fresh food and refreshing drinks are served to you at your seat. No more waiting in line which takes up time and may cut into movie trailers; - Happy Hour and other deals going on daily not just for one day; - Comfy leather recliner chairs including accessibility; - Friendly staff; - Elevated atmosphere created by the beautiful decor with a lobby used for socializing; - And hosting fun events. A movie over lunch or dinner even breakfast now sounds lovely to me!! Come on a Yelp Community join this luxe experience!

Here's what did and did not go well. Movie was great and what we expected. One of the recliners was not working properly, but enough to get by. Asked the server if they had old school chips, jalapeños and yellow cheese nachos. Wrong! it was white dip with stale cold chips, and no jalapeños. Ordered their "new" pizza sticks. Was told they were running short on Mariana sauce so they gave me ranch. Not exactly what I wanted or needed. BTW they are just mozzarella sticks with pepperoni inside. I ate both of sticks but wasn't aware it was only two sticks. Not worth the money. Bathroom: ladies have 3 stalls - one had a floor sign stating out of order, one had a broken seat, and the only one working someone got sick all over it. They never cleaned the bathroom for the two + hour duration we were there. Terrible service standards especially with sanitation. I thought places are supposed to check them at least every 30mins. Not going back anytime soon, too bad
