So, I'll start off by saying I had an awesome experience at their store. My whole time spent…read moreshopping there was easygoing, no stress at all. Usually the wife and I shop for new furniture once every 2 years or so. It was about that time again. I'd remembered hearing their commercial on the radio, so I figured, lets give this place a try. I was honestly tired of spending an arm an leg at other places. First thing I noticed while shopping there was their employees were so laid back, but in a professional sense. No nagging, no slime, no bull crap. Just a few guys and gals helping you out with what you need. Simply put, they helped my wife and I find exactly what we were looking for. The prices were fair, and even threw in an additional discount. We ordered a mattress set, living room group, and bunk bed for our little ones. All of it delivered and assembled by a couple younger delivery guys (who were awesome as well). I can easily say I'll be sticking with them for any other furniture purchases I may need. Thanks guys, your help was much appreciated by the wife and I!

I am absolutely appalled and disgusted by the treatment I received at Crazy Jay's Beds today. As a…read morepotential customer looking to make a large purchase to support my agency's clients, I expected a welcoming and professional experience. Instead, what I encountered was a complete nightmare from start to finish. Upon entering the store, I was not greeted by a single employee. After browsing for ten minutes, I had to approach two young men assembling furniture just to determine if they even worked there, as they had no identifying uniforms or name tags. One of them rudely told me his mom was in the back and stomped off when I asked if he could get her. When the woman finally appeared, her attitude was atrocious. She greeted me with a curt "It's going" when I politely asked how her day was. I tried to overlook her rudeness and proceeded to show her a picture of the item I wanted to purchase. She claimed it wasn't in stock and begrudgingly checked her catalog, only to confirm they didn't have it. I then selected a triple bunk bed and began looking at mattresses. But the ones she showed me were suddenly "unavailable" after I had made my selection. She tried to push memory foam on me despite me clearly stating I didn't want that type. The final straw was when she abruptly demanded to know "what organization are you from" for the receipt, before we had even finalized the purchase details. Her tone was so rude and off-putting that I had simply had enough. I told her directly that she was rude and walked out. As an agency that supports families, I had high hopes of forming a community partnership with a family-owned business-like Crazy Jay's. We frequently purchase furnishings for clients, and I thought working with you would be an amazing opportunity. However, after the horrible attitudes and service from your staff, I had no choice but to take my business elsewhere. It brings me no joy to write this complaint. In fact, it makes me very sad that I couldn't support a local business as I had hoped. But I felt compelled to bring this to your attention in the hopes that you will address these issues. I would hate for anyone else to endure the awful experience I went through. Please take this as constructive feedback to improve your customer service and staff training. First impressions are everything, and unfortunately, Crazy Jay's made a very poor one today. I truly hope corrective actions will be taken. Sincerely, A Very Disappointed Potential Customer

For a place called "architectural salvage," this biz has a much larger "antique store" element than I had expected. Virtually the entire sizable first floor is dedicated to a selection of antiques that I found to be incredibly interesting! I wouldn't be able to even scratch the surface of telling you the types of items, but I'd say that the collection lends itself to items that were originally meant to be functional, rather than decorative. Their collection of antique binoculars and telescopes was fascinating, as were their scales. I also really enjoyed rummaging through their apothecary bottles, a personal favorite of mine. Of course, this IS an architectural salvage, so you're also treated to massive stained glass windows, service counters carefully removed from turn-of-the-century businesses, entire displays of doorknobs and hinges and light fixtures. If you were looking for period-appropriate parts for your home, I trust they'd have it. While the prices are high enough I wouldn't say you'd get anything at a steal, the selection is incredibly impressive. Maybe it's still somewhat of a secret and hasn't yet been picked over? Whatever it is, if you're into this type of business, you'll be happy!

I overheard the owner, Annette is her name, make a racist comment about a person of color among a small group of what appeared to be customers as well as staff. You can tell by how she speaks to her staff and then how she speaks to customers that she is as fake as a three dollar bill. On one other occasion, I watched as the owner again displayed bigoted behavior towards a transsexual couple looking to decorate their home. She was unkind to them, telling them that her store wouldn't have what they were looking for. At one point she asked one of her staff members to "get them out of the store." I will never step foot in this building as long as Annette is running things. Bad business owner!

Open one week a month, this place seems to be a nice mix of new and vintage merchandise, all of it thoughtfully curated. I went here with a group of people who all have quite varying styles, and we all ended up finding stuff we liked. I bought a vintage crate that will fit perfectly on the back of my husband's bike, while he bought some great glass Christmas ornaments. The parents bought some candles and some other decorative bric-a-brac. There's a large upstairs space that you shouldn't miss, as it includes a lot of furniture! The staff is friendly and helpful, and easily accessible. There were a TON of people helping out on the day we were there, which I appreciate. And while they were quite enthusiastic and informative, they certainly weren't pushy, which I appreciate even more. I can't guarantee that I'll be back, as their extremely limited hours just might not jive with my travel plans, but if I find out it's open, I'll be sure to go back.
