I have totally loved Old South Winery for 30+ years, and order monthly for delivery from Natchez, Mississippi to Shreveport, Louisiana. My order is always the same: 6 bottles of Sweet Magnolia; 6 bottles of Blue Bayou; and 1 or 2 bottles of NewU. I obviously love sweet muscadine white wine. They were very friendly and explained all of the wines they had. Quite the variety of tastes and we took four bottles and t-Shirts home.

Wasn't sure what to expect other than I wanted to drink a glass of wine in the vineyard and relax. But that's not what you can do here. You do, however, get free wine tastings and if you like sweet wines then you're in for a treat. The vineyard is very old and small that you can see from the street. When you walk in, it's like going in someone's tiny home then through another doorway to the tasting room. Being form California and tasting all over the Napa and Sonoma Valleys, this was quite different on a much smaller scale. I thought the place was really messy and not very clean for a business. It made me realize I wasn't in Kansas anymore but I do appreciate the deep south, especially the kind manners they have so I wasn't too disappointed. I do not like sweet wine at all so I picked the one that was the least sweet, the "Natchez Rouge", a semi-dry red. To me, it tasted like red wine and blueberries. Extremely unique flavor so I purchased a bottle and we enjoyed it very much when we went back to our hotel room that overlooked the river. read more

Pretty cool place to visit! The winery is still family owned! All of their wines are made from Muscadine grapes, if you don't like sweet wines then you won't like the wines from here. In addition, they make preserves and hot sauce. I left with the blueberry and pepper jelly preserve and will be back for more. read more

Great stop for purchasing and taste testing local wine. Learned some very interesting and informative things about muscadine grapes and its major health benefits! They make all their wine with them so you can feel good about drinking this wine! I also bought the muscadine pills for my dog and myself to help with inflammation. The muscadine wine here is divine!!! My personal favorites are Miss Scarlett, Blue Bayou, and Blueberry Thrill! Plus the gift shop has so many fun wine trinkets! And the best part is the genuine folks that own and run the winery, especially Diane, what a special lady! Natchez is by far my favorite destination city when i want a quiet getaway in the south. The Old South Winery and I met in the mid 90's. I go back any time i am in Natchez. They have a great breadth of muscadine wine from semisweet to dry. My favorites are southern belle, sweet magnolia and miss scarlett. I would disagree with Jerry B that they have sweet trash wines. The wine making style that they use is different, there is no oak aging involved and you get to taste the entirety of the fruit. It is just like saying there is only one way to make a good car and if it is not made like an Edsel, it is not a car! (if you dont know what an edsel is then google it!) As to there location - they have not moved, some of their vines are outside the building. No this is not pebble beach, but did you come here to drink wine or what? read more

Considering the neighborhood we had to get through to get here, and the outward appearance and inside of the place at first, we weren't expecting much. We were quickly pleasantly surprised by the friendly, knowledgable staff and interesting tour. Enjoyed the wine tasting, although I'm not a wine fan.
