I make sure to come to Hammers whenever I am in Vidalia visiting family in Ferriday. My brother, father, and I made two stops here. The ladies working were pleasant and very patient with us as we only make it here once every 5 or so years. We feel like a kid in a candy store. We ordered a Kevin Gates, Hurricane, and something else. Famously known for the vidalia tea, when I'm town I traditionally get two half gallons. One for immediately, another for the next day. If you're smart you won't let too many people know you have a half gallon, otherwise there won't be much left for you to drink. They also have good frozen drinks, you'll definitely want to transfer it from your styrofoam cup to your Yeti. In short stop in here if you can or have a friend bring you some tea from here if possible. read more

They make really good mixed drinks. I go here every time I'm in town. You don't see many places like this across the country. My personal favorite is the pineapple berry. It's so good, but most others I know prefer the sour apple berry. The line moves fast, no matter what time of night it is and the hosts always provide excellent customer service. read more

I drove from Baton Rouge, LA to Vidalia, LA to get the "awesome tea" I have had in the past. I ended up buying 2 gallons and 3 half gallons. Well after getting home and prepping to taste the famous tea I've had several times in the past, I was hesitant when I noticed the tea was much darker in color than I remembered. Pushing my doubts away I took a sip and was extremely disappointed as it wasn't as yummy as I remembered. I continued to drink and didn't feel a thing. Where is the alcohol? Who altered the recipe? Needless to say $85 gone down the drain as this tea was horrible. read more

I've always been a huge fan of Hammers - I think anyone in Vidalia/Natchez area is. It's a drive-thru liquor store and daiquiri shops. They have lots of flavor options and the price is always reasonable. A medium costs $6. I recommend the Sweet Tart and the Eggnog when it's Christmastime. The line can get long, so be prepared to wait on the side of the road a little bit! read more
