We contacted the Boca Raton, Florida location of Lowe's Cleaning Services, to have our air ducts…read morecleaned which was done on February 20, 2024. Upon arrival, the tech informed us that he would be joined by a colleague of his, who was "in training" and it was his first day, or thereabouts, on the job. As part of the process, they took off all the air vent covers and washed them outside. After completion of the job we noticed later that one of the vent covers was scuffed up, and upon further inspection, we noticed that all ten of them were scuffed up, and that the finish had come off. We contacted a manager of the company who advised us that there was nothing they could do and that the water must have caused it, "which rarely happens," and that we could paint them. We then told him that in our opinion the "tech in training" used a nozzle that had too much pressure on it and was placed too close to the covers which caused this. Furthermore, we told him that neither tech ever mentioned to us that this happened at all, yet surely the tech washing them must have seen that the finish came off upon washing them, yet instead of stopping after seeing what happened to ask us if they should continue, he continued with the process. According to another company we contacted to see what their opinion was on the finish that came off, we were told it should not have happened. We paid a total of $568.00 and requested a partial refund of $250.00 which would have only covered part of the cost of either painting or replacing the 10 vents. Please note that this company has a 100% customer satisfaction policy on their website, yet they refused to compensate us and/or make any attempt to make things right. They also ignored the complaint we filed with the Better Business Bureau and all communication from them. Also, as a side note, the tech arrived in a white van which had no logo on it, and neither tech was wearing a uniform, contrary to what is shown on their website. In conclusion, this company does not honor their 100% customer satisfaction policy, or try to make things right, which is totally unprofessional; and as such, I do not recommend them.

Whether you consider the wiring issue minor or significant, correctly configuring the wiring is part of completing the installation. Returning to correct it was your responsibility. It does not erase the inconvenience or the time we spent dealing with the problem. We paid approximately $6,500 and expected the installation to be completed correctly. We recently had another licensed company install an AC system of the same size for $3,200, without requiring multiple return visits. That experience makes your pricing and service particularly disappointing. I also do not appreciate being told that my complaint was "taken out of proportion." We contacted you about the problem, and our concerns deserve to be addressed respectfully. The fact that this is a rental property does not lower our expectations for professional service. I am requesting a partial refund to compensate for our time and the inconvenience caused by the repeated visits. That kind of service is hard to beat. Of course, this past weekend our air conditioning decided to stop working, because apparently AC units only break on weekends and holidays! Ewing & Ewing is open 24/7, so we called and Chris Storey came out on Sunday morning. Chris has been to our home many times, and he is absolutely amazing at what he does. It was identified that I didn't have the correct size unit and some of the duct work was not installed improperly. He had a new unit installed and duct work updated. It feels like a new house. Afterwards I told Thayne that one of my girls had a breathing problem. He recommended that I have my ducts cleaned throughly. It's been 2 weeks and my little girl is breathing regularly. First, they always show up when they say they will. Second, their plumbers know what they're doing. Third, their guys have pointed out a couple of potential issues along the way which weren't part of the original scope of work, but nonetheless were pretty helpful to know as a homeowner. I know that pointing out issues is kind of like upselling, but it actually didn't come across as upselling because there wasn't any pressure to do the work. And that information you get is pretty helpful. The only downside to working with them is the price. They are by far the most expensive plumber I've worked with in the area. I kid you not, one time I got an estimate from them and as I reviewed their email in the middle of a Zoom call, I literally said out loud "holy fucking shit bro" not realizing my mic was on, which was a bit embarrassing. That said, I later agreed to the proposal because nobody else was available as fast. So yeah their availability and their quick response time is definitely important to me. I don't always use Mike's, sometimes they get undercut on price by a company that can come out quickly. But I know that when I do hire them, I will be in good hands, though with a lighter wallet.
