Also got the Irish Cottage Pie and it was very tasty - rich in flavor but lighter than I expected, in a good way. Shared a pint of Guiness (just missed splitting the G - lol) and finished with an Irish coffee, which hit the spot. We got their fish & chips and Irish Cottage Pie. Both were very good and filling. Fish was nicely breaded and fried. Good flavor in their batter. Cottage pie was full of flavor but not overly rich. The back room was opened up and the snugs taken out. Its modern and spacious and never feels too packed. The front room is a bit more lively and always busy on Friday and Saturday nights. This being south Dublin, expect to find the place wedged on a match day especially if Leinster are playing. We arrived about 1 p.m. and had to sit at the bar for about ten minutes for a table to open up. The restrauant is not on the tourist path (think Temple Bar area). We may have been the only non-Irish in the restrauant. It is rich in history and has a traditional Irsh look and feel. We ordered a couple of beers. Jan ordered a Blue Moon and I ordered a Carlsberg Pilsner. The beer on tap selection is impressive. For lunch we ordered a couple of items to share. Jan picked fish and chips, I selected calamari.
