Old Road Station is situated high up above the road so to get there you have to venture up the huge amount of steep steps, or if you're a bit lazy like me you can get the lift which gets you there in no time at all, and not flustered and out of breath.
The station is pretty much all open air apart from a couple of shelters on each side. They don't provide much warmth but are great if a sudden downpour occurs, which it inevitably does when you've missed a train.
The station is clean and tidy and appears to be well maintained. You have a good view from the platform and can see the train coming in the distance for ages before it actually gets to the station. read more
