Then--just days before New Years when I'd been told that the Upper Valley has no store dedicated exclusively to baby things--what to my wondering eyes should appear, but Country Kids Clothing and all things sincere! There are beautiful picture books and classy bibs, pacifiers and chew toys (I'm a dog person, no apologies), swaddling clothes, carry-all bags, and more. You'll find an array of items to suit any baby's general needs, from pricey to economical, trendy commercial to local organic (the natural wood teething rings were my fave, one more solid use of Vermont maple!). The stuff here's cute as shit, cuter than your little shit, probably! You can't go wrong, it seems. There's a second room, too, for older babies. Elder babies? Toddlers? For when they're at 43 months, or 72...whatever. There are two people on staff, though I only spoke with one. Don't have a clue about baby development, timelines, seasonal needs, wind velocity, gravitational pull, etc., like me? No problem! I was both applauded for my courage in shopping for a baby shower gift, and then gently educated on how to improve on the selections I had made before asking for help. The mall is not completely desolate, as they are redoing the tiles on the floor, and there are still some shops open for business. However, most of the places are available for lease. Each time I return to the mall, most of the shops I remember from previous visits are no longer there. I must give Powerhouse Mall credit for hosting local fairs, having a hair salon, gym, random clothing boutiques, and an L.L. Bean store and outdoor gear store. They are still trying to maintain the nostalgic 2000s mall culture. Also they have beautiful decorations for Christmas. There are liquor store, cocktail, bakery and cafe, antique, alpaca, candy, gifts, and general stores. Lots of cool stuff. Antique shop is massive and there is lots to go through. I'm sure some people that like collectible and antique and vintage stuff would have a field day. General stores sells some local snacks, drinks and gifts. There are also some alpacas as well at the one section if the village. Overall cool place to visit to check out stores or if you want to take a quick break from driving. The other stores sell jewelry, clothing, cheese and antiques. You can access one store from another inside the building. Public restrooms are available between the antique store and the cheese shop. We went through the toy section and were pleasantly surprised at seeing Leggos on sale with a table on which several unicorn Lego toys were placed next to a 30% off placard. We got several among other toys. Got to the register and the cashier rang one at full price. Upon our challenge, he started "apparently it depends on the unicorn". Take out or leave it. To put items on a table marked 30% off and then ring the item at full price is horrible ethics. Sadly, we have been assiduous Kohls customers, especially during holiday season.

My Customer pick up item was not in the bin when I arrived and we were assisted by this young man who looked through every single bin in the hopes of finding it and when he could not, he refunded the order with a merchandise credit and helped me locate the items that were on that order, even looking "on the dock" for one of the items when my size was not on the racks. This young man was friendly, apologetic and eager to help and made this bad experience better. I did speak to Manager Chris about this employees excellent service, so I do hope he was acknowledged as he deserves it.

At Revolution, there are both new and locally-designed clothing as well as reasonably priced consigned clothes, shoes, and accessories that are in good shape. Whenever I go to Revolution, I feel good knowing that I'm supporting a cool local community store that gives back to the community. Pssst, don't be surprised if you're offered a latte to sip while you shop. There are toys for kids to play with too while you shop. This is a true gem of a store and White River Junction and the Upper Valley is so much the better for it.
