The gentleman would not even look at the suit I brought in, despite there being many shades of navy in their store. I asked again if he would look at it and he said "No, nothing we have will match." I drove over 3 hours to find a vest. I left and went to Mr. Big and Tall across the road and she was very kind and expressed customers come there weekly after being mistreated in Moores. Unfortunately, she did not have any navy vests but gave me directions to the sister store in the Halifax Shopping Centre as well as another Moores location. I went to Moores across from the Halifax Shopping Centre. The gentleman there took my suit and spent the time to look at all the possible options and he found a match very easily. He also was able to help me match a tie as pocket square.

I only went in to look around so I didn't have to get any help, but I got a few smiles.

Recently they had a Ladies night where you save 20% off everything in the store, and they frequently have monthly specials where you save $10 when you spend $50 (upon presentation of a coupon). Overall, I've been quite pleased with this store and will continue to shop there in the future for myself and for others.

It can be a little on the high end for some, but the quality is very good here. We went when they had a fabulous sale on, buy one get the other for a dollar. You just cannot beat that! She measured Mark and then sent us to an area of the store with all of the suites in his size. Once we had picked a few out she reappeared with more helpful hints on tailoring. We even left with shoes when all was said and done! Overall, a great experience! Perhaps this is uniform to tailoring in general but why the extra charges, Moores? If a suit comes without a hem then I don't think you ought to charge someone to finish sewing it. At Moores the cost of basic hemming is $10 and in Mark's case there was an extra cost to extend the sleeves as well... seemed odd to me but other than that, this was a great suit shopping experience! That's rare - I have a hard time with that. So for investment pieces, the high prices are worth it. Otherwise, I stay away. But Gap Factory Store bridges the... uh... gap. Not everything's a great deal here, but sometimes I hit the jackpot. If you give them your email address, they send out notices of sales and give you coupons. Last night? I hit up their "up to 70% off" sale, armed with an additional 15% off my entire purchase coupon. While only one item was actually 70% off, between the sale and the coupon, I actually saved quite a bit more than I paid. I do have a major pet peeve - you have to be really careful the item you're buying is actually discounted as listed. Picture this. Bayers Lake, early 2012. I desperately needed an emerald green cardigan (it may have had something to do with a Lego party, but I'd been looking for one anyway). I found one I loved on a tabled filled with identical cardigans of varying colours with a 50% off sign that specified only "cardigans". Tried it on and fell even deeper in love. I was on a shopper's high as I approached the cash register, cardigan in hand. It came up full price. I smiled and explained there must be some mistake - the sign says it is 50% off. The sales clerk sighed and basically shut me down. No discount. I showed her the table and the sign. Apparently last season's colours were 50% off, but green was one of the new colours. So only 2 of the 8 or so colours of cardigans on the table were actually on sale. This sort of thing has happened a couple times since. If not for this, I would gladly go with a 4 or 5 star rating. Also, I think some of the clothes are made specifically for the Factory stores, and some are slightly off season clothes that have just come off the shelves at Gap. I've seen overlap occasionally, with the same item in both stores at the same time. You'll find a fairly large array of women's, men's, activewear, and children's clothing. Bottom line: lots of great deals to be had, but make sure you don't get burned.

I wouldn't recommend going in here and paying the 'regular' price of stuff.. since clearly it's an outlet, and that sweater is going to go on crazy sale in 15 minutes.
