I guess I was expecting an older "house" since that's what it looks like. The bar area is a nice size - not too big or small. Alot of TVs in all directions. This place has more TVs per square yard than dedicated sports bars. Even a 2 person high top table in a little nook had their own TV! The waitstaff consists of 1 bartender and 1 waitress. Service was ver friendly and attentive when they were able to come to your table. As you can expect, when it filled up, they were hard to find. Drinks came at us quickly when ordered. Food is somewhat varied. It all fit on front and back of a long menu. Artichoke dip was great. Plenty of pita like bread. Main courses came to us quickly. I had a mushroom swiss burger and tator tots. Both tasted great! Pizza was completely finished. The shrimp appetizer was big enough for a small meal. It took a while to find the waitress to get the check and there is a service fee. All in all, it's a neat place to watch a game.

Was not busy at all, so that wasn't the reason. Ordering drinks was quite the task with Maya as she'd forget the order. Positive note, food was good and came out somewhat decent time. Lastly, billing was quite the task. Took about 20min and it was incorrect. How we were charged for 6 beers when the bucket comes with 5... not sure. Also incorrect mixed drinks were billed. Some of us gave cash, and she decided to keep the change and gave herself a 36% tip from me and 33% tip from the other. Because this process took so long just trying to leave - we didn't bother with getting the change... or we might have had to wait another 20-30minutes.

I actually drove by this place for years and never ventured inside, so it was nice to meet there…read morewith several friends for dinner. It's a lot larger than it seems from the outside. They have a large outdoor seating area with its own counter and bar area. Half of the inside is a dining room, the middle is counter bar service, and the other side is a sports book with a lot of large TVs to watch horse racing and other sporting events. There are TVs all around the restaurant, so we could watch various sports going on that evening. On the night we went, ten wings were nine bucks and you can select two sauces or dry rubs. They were also doing some drink specials and drinks weren't expensive either. We also shared cheese curds and pretzel bites before we all ordered wings. The curds were curds. The problem with cheese curds is that if they're not super hot, they're just meh. I get that businesses make good money from them, but ugh, not a great item to order. The pretzel bites are fine as well. They were okay. Again, not an issue with Player's Pub, it's just the nature of these two different appetizers. Anyway, I got the wings special with a side of tots and ranch and included a side salad. The salad was a nice size and was fresh. I really didn't expect, well, I didn't know what to expect, but it was a good salad. The ranch is good, too. They have a great ranch game. And was a perfect sauce to dip my tots in. The wings were very good too. I got the hot honey and the bourbon-bacon sauces on my wings. The wings were meaty, juicy, and flavorful. They had a bunch of sauces and I would definitely order them again and try of their other sauces. I'm also part of a burger club, and they have several burgers on their menu, so we'll have to come back to try their burgers. Our server was also very attentive, constantly checking on us and refilling our drinks. We'll definitely be back to Player's Pub and catch a game and grab some great food.

Gatsby's was a short drive away so it seemed worth checking out. The main parking lot was full by the time we arrived, but I suppose thats a good thing. At first look, the inside definitely checked the boxes of a local establishment. Sports memorabilia, photographs, neon signs, etc. It did take a little bit to be greeted, but honestly I forgot pretty quickly since I was focused on the ball game and because our server was really friendly. I wish I could remember his name, but he defintly made night go smoothly. The food/drinks came out at seemingly reasonable pace for as busy as it was. We didn't really venture too much into the menu since we were there mostly for the game. I got a few apps to try from their big menu. They have quite few things to try from. The french fries were good. Nothing special, but they came hot and just right. I got some mozz sticks that were good also, again nothing else to write home. The marina was a great pairing for sure. The highlight though was for sure the cheese curds. They were succulent and very delicious. Classic Wisconsin curds friend to golden perfection. The cherry on top was the homemade ranch. Oh man, was that perfect! I went a second time about a month (ish) later, this time with a friend to catch a hawks game. Again, we were both pleased with the overall service and felt they had great consistency. This time, I tried a thin crust pizza, while my friend had the Texas BBQ Burger & Saganaki. I quit enjoyed the pie. It was pretty good quality for a bar pizza. Crust and flavor was excellent. My friend seemed to like his burger and appetizer, though he didn't finish it all. Truly an awesome place to hang at. I hope to back soon to try some more things.

It's unreasonable to ask her to cover the bar and the dining area. We waited a while longer then decided to walk out. This is poor management due to inadequate staffing, the management should know its March madness and it's going to be busy, I can only imagine how screwed up it's going to be on St Patrick's day weekend coming up.
