You cannot drive up to LeConte Lodge because there are no roads. It's on top of one of the highest mountains east of the Rockies. The highest mountain east of the Rockies is Mount Mitchell (in west NC), which is 6,683 feet above sea level. Mount LeConte (in east TN) is 6,594 feet above sea level. Meals and bed linens are transported up the mountain by the lodge employees on the backs of llamas in rain-proof bags (the only place I've seen llamas outside of the Andes is on Mount LeConte). There's no electricity at LeConte Lodge, so you go to bed when it's dark, however they do have lanterns and propane heaters. Bring your own towel.

As we were walking through the halls we were greeted friendly by stay so this hotel definitely has hospitality down from our experience. The rooms were large and clean and beds were super comfy. There's no confusing light switches they some hotels tend to have. I didn't ever find a safe in the room but you have drawers to store clothes in the living room and an armoire to hang things if you so choose. The hotel breakfast was great they had oatmeal, 3 cereal choices including fruit Loops, okios yogurt, muffins, eggs, biscuits, sausage, pancakes and more. Overall a solid breakfast station and it was clean. We enjoyed our stay very well and the view from this location gives a nice view overlooking the gatlinburg mountains.

Maintenance walked in without announcing/knocking when they were entering. Very few TVs actually worked. Floors were dirty enough to cause feet to be black. Dust everywhere. Kitchen was not cleaned appropriately. Remember to bring your own toilet paper and paper towels. It was clearly a new cabin, all the stickers were left on windows and in bath tubs. There is an awful smell that occurs not sure if it is sewage or gas leak. You are placed on hold or over an hour to talk to an actual representative to get problems fixed. Even when problems are reported they are not fixed.

The property is clean.. beautiful and very accommodating. The staff is fantastic and does what they can to make you feel at home. My wife and I love finding hidden gems on our travels and this one has made our list of places we must return to. Highly recommend if you are looking for a relaxing getaway. Breakfast is served at around 8am and it's very simple but well done. After breakfast you can take your coffee to the porch and enjoy some amazing views.

This is the 2nd worst motel I've ever stayed in that's advertised as a Wyndham property. In fact…read moreit's a franchise from Wyndham and it's not worthy of being associated with them. I reserved the room using my acquired points on the Wyndham website and filled out all the check-in information such as my Wyndham credit card number, name, expiration date, and CVV number, then the make, model and license number of our car and a picture of my drivers license (ID). When we started heading that direction, I noticed there was no address on the motel website so I had to do a Google map search to find it. That should have been my 1st warning that something is wrong. Upon arrival the desk clerk didn't have any of that information and I needed to look up my confirmation number, after a few minutes she located the reservation then had me fill out all that information all over again because she didn't have access to the reservation information. We got our room key cards and she mentioned about a breakfast that started at 6:30am, so I looked at the dining area and noticed how old the furniture was and it was not appealing at all. We were in a hurry to get to Dollywood to catch our show reservation so we just dropped off our luggage in the room and left. When we got back at 11:30pm we turned on the lights and started checking out the room. It was horrible to say the least so I took pictures. What I didn't take pictures of were the towels, they were very old, thin and thread worn and the caulking around the shower looks like it was applied by children and the tub finish was not shiny from being cleaned with an abrasive cleaner of some sort and the multiple layers of paint on the doors and jambs and walls. Then I tried all the electrical outlets on the side tables to plug in our phone chargers, none of them worked so we had to unplug lamps and use those. I considered checking out and going elsewhere but didn't think I'd get anything that late so we decided to stay, but we sure would not attend the breakfast due to fearing that the prep kitchen was as dirty as the room. My recommendation to others is, DO NOT GO THERE, just run and don't look back! Unfortunately Wyndham doesn't take responsibility for franchisers cleaning practices.
