However, you'll find a generous variety of flavours to make your mouth water. My favourite has to be Pistachio, which I found to be just as good as the one I had in Venice. Certainly worth the money if you enjoy it! As well as ice cream and hot drinks, they strangely combine their sweet business by offering a selection of savoury snacks, such as breakfast butties and soups with rolls. These dishes are are a bit pricey but when you consider it's prime location and fine dining experience, it is second to none. All this makes Rich's such a tempting place to visit and why not on a gorgeous day. "I scream, You scream, We All scream for ice cream!"

Although, saying that, 'geleteria' does sound a bit exotic and unusual, doesn't it? It does sound more enticing than 'ice cream shop' though, so I can see why they'd use that instead. Rich's is primarily a nice little café at the quieter end of Lord Street which offers its customers a pleasant atmosphere in a reasonably-sized area that gives shoppers the chance to take the weight of their feet and have a hot drink and a sandwich or light snack. However, where Rich's really excels is in its range of desserts. As their sign says, Rich's sells ice cream in a variety of flavours and colours, meaning even the fussiest person could find a flavour to suit their tastes (I usually play safe and stick to chocolate myself, but each to their own). Their dessert menu also features a selection of homemade delicacies such as sundaes and huge chocolate éclairs which at three quid are pretty expensive but are definitely worth it, as my éclair-loving friend will testify.

I thought the setting was wonderful it was possible to see for miles around. I was pleasently surprised how much this place had to offer as if all that icecream and cakes wasn't enough for you there is also animals which includes donkeys, rabbits, goats, geese, and of course cows and a playground and mini golf. Yes there is mini golf with the most amazing views of West Yorkshire The icecream was simply delicious I have to admit it was difficult to decide from all the yummy flavours 24 in total lucky that it is possible to have scoops of different ones together in one tub. Also they sell large tubs to take away and store in your freezer. It is possible to eat inside the cafe or the is seating outside which is lovely on a nice day. Based right at the entrance of Chill Factor-e this is the best ice-cream parlour around! With it…read morebeing part of the ski centre, there's a massive car park so you shouldn't have to fight for a parking spot. There's so many different flavours to pick from, it always takes me a good few minutes to make a decision. They do have the standard flavours like vanilla, mint choc chip, etc, but to mix things up a little bit, they have some genius ideas, such and ice-cream mixed with sweets, biscuits and other delicious sauces. This time I opted for the Jammie Dodger ice-cream - it was perfectly creamy and had little chunks of biscuit in it. I'm not a massive fan of the ice-cream cones so I opted to have mine in a tub. There are however a few different options when it comes to the cones, there's the standard plain one, a chocolate one and one with sprinkles. This is a cute little café, so there are seats so that you can sit down and enjoy your ice-cream. Alternatively you can walk around with it and watch people ski / snowboard through the viewing area. The prices are marvellous for the quality of the products served. I cannot fault this place at all.

We walked in and the décor seemed unfinished, very bare and empty. We walked up to the counter and, even though there were 2 girls, one was serving and one just stood there when there was 3 people waiting in the queue. The frozen yogurt choices aren't posted on their menu board so you have to ask what flavours are - this is no problem for an empty shop but when there are people waiting it does waste time, especially as many people like to decide when they are waiting rather than being put on the spot. The fro-yo itself seemed lumpy and not the same texture as the one we had at the Yog Bar. The chocolate buttons we had tasted off, the sauces that were advertised on the board 'weren't available as they didn't know how to work the machine' - nor were there any other sort of sauce as a replacement - and the toppings were so small it didn't seem worth the money. I was also rather disappointed that the initial cost didn't include at least one topping, instead I paid £3.45 for a medium tub and 40p for 2 toppings (it's 50p for every topping after that). The serving spoon for toppings was white plastic picnic desert spoons which don't hold much, meaning you would be lucky if you got more than half a cookie as a topping. We understand it is a new business to the area so please take this as constructive criticism (and we will re-visit in a few months) but Froyo&Joe didn't appear to be ready to be opened based on the service, shop front and product we received.

I tend to go for the natural flavour in a medium pot with raspberry's and honey, this costs between £3.50 and £4. Totally worth it. They usually have 4 or so flavours on offer. Today they had natural, peanut butter, match green tea and mango. You can have a little taste before you pick. They have a range of toppings too, ranging from fruit to chocolate and a variety of sauces to top it all off. In addition to the yummy fro-yo they also sell coffee and tea, as well as snacks including delicious protein balls that are vegan and healthy. The customer service has always been 5* in my experience, can't fault the guys that work here. The actual shop is a fairly small unit with about 5 seats inside and a few outside when the weathers nice. To be honest I'm surprised they've got 5 seats in there but they have, and it's comfortable. Most people tend to buy to take away. I also like that they offer a loyalty card, after 3 visits you get a free topping and after 6 you get a free small fro-yo. A must visit.

Want to know a secret? I actually prefer frozen yogurt to ice cream. It's true. It cannot be touched in terms of light, delicious brilliance. So how excited was I when I saw the bright, inviting colours of Frurt on Whitworth Street West, just off Oxford Road round the corner from Cornerhouse? All kinds of. Shortly after spying that I joined my flat-hunting amigo in an estate agents' office two Saturdays ago and picked up a copy of Urban Life to flick through. What did I see but a Frurt advert, noting their opening weekend at the end of July? Oh, now I was even happier. While I didn't make it to their grand sample give-out due to weekend commitments, the hideously cloying weather had me making a beeline for their enticing, clean and fun-looking shop. I couldn't resist. Instantly I was intrigued by the Fruit Parfait, which at £3.50 is one of the best value things on the menu (and they're all great value, believe me). You get your generously scooped and whipped fro-yo, with a choice of four flavours - au naturel, chocolate, strawberry or green tea. As soon as the last one was mentioned I was decided. Then it's topped with granola, a delightful drizzle of honey and your choice of two fruits - for me it had to be strawberry and mango. Off I wandered... and I stopped. I'm so silly for thinking I could eat this on the go. It demands your attention. You have to savour and enjoy it, and I found myself a peaceful spot of street and gave my treat the focus it deserved. And I didn't want it to end. It was almost breakfasty with the granola, fruit and honey, and there are plentiful topping choices if you want to feel a little naughtier. Just know that the base fro-yo is stupendously healthy. Isn't that just awesome? Going to a movie at the Cornerhouse? Grab yourself a cheeky takeaway treat beforehand. They're open until 10pm each day and it's our duty as independent business-loving Mancunians not to let them down. Frurt is one of those specialist places we sorely need in these parts, so let's enjoy it!

The staff within this business are polite, well dressed in uniform and polite. I would like to say a big well done to all staff, especially the manager Charlotte, who always smiled, and has done an amazing job with the staff. You are all an asset to Hoylake, and I will be visiting more often, along with bringing friends along too. The yogurt based foods are tasty, filling and moreish, and the prices are quite reasonable for the diverse range of products.

Options include both pre-made and customized shakes. Settled for the medium "Golden Balls" (£4.70) - a vanilla shake with Fererro Rocher, Nutella, and peanut crumbles. Initial taste is not bad, lots of hazelnut flavor and some peanut chunks. However, the ice cream itself is fairly thin, and as you drink most of it through the straw, what's remaining is 60% crushed peanuts. The peanut portion is too high and without a spoon, is not possible to eat. Service here was fine as they were winding down for the night. Ratios in the shake need to be done better.

It's not a bad thing, I enjoy a milkshake, but I will admit my tastes are a little vanilla in that I only really like vanilla. In the interests of creamy discovery I decided to try and pick a different flavour, and here that took me a while. The choice of things that you can have blended into a milkshake is frankly staggering - toffee crisp, fondant fancies, jelly babies- although I find it difficult to see why anyone would choose to go for a parma violet milkshake. It is a little pricey as all of these places tend to be - I had a regular-sized 'galaxy caramel with flake topping' (one of the recommended flavours) and it cost almost £3 - but they are darn tasty. They also do a selection of wheat grass, goji berry 'body boosters' but if you're having a milkshake why would you taint it with something approaching a health food?
