This place was very busy. We were seven. Four adults & three kids. While I'm a fan of this place…read moreit's been quite some time since I've been here and once again I found the food that I opted to eat just superb. I had some perfectly cooked squid and I gave the giant warm water prawns they were served together with a miss, opting for fine papaya salad. I also had the chicken coconut soup and was it ace. I go fir this every time and I don't think I've ever had better. The cook tops this soup with fried noodle which adds a texture and taste and I added fresh coriander and sliced red chilli; the chilli slices are soaked in white vinegar and boy it enhances the flavours. I ask had chicken satay skewers with a lush peanut sauce (though I'd prefer it thicker) then to mains. I tried a stir fried mince pork which was really tasty as was the Thai green curry. I put some more beautiful squid into the green curry sauce rather than the meat in the green curry. I added some coconut rice to my place and it too was so flavourful. We took a break from eating for a while and then had fresh pineapple, watermelon and some of their banana cooking in a syrup. All in all it was very enjoyable and I can't wait to eat there again

visited last night with my partner as a prelude to cinema visit. Price £13.95 per man we feel it…read morerepresents good value. Food is buffet style and you can go up as often as you like. As always the staff are humble yet attentive, consistently asking if you 'enjoyed your food.' I did refill my plate more than once, obligatory I think at buffet type restaurants! We did stick with the starters as they are good. In particular the Spicy mince pork with a papaya Thai salad. Also there are 3 choices of broths which are prepared and served fresh : I had the spicy pork noodle with all the extras my partner had the red thai chicken soup, mine won in the taste test. We also tried the satay chicken with peanut sauce and the vegetarian red thai curry which was surprisingly good with a real kick. Desert counter mediocre at best , offering up mini doughnuts, selection of fresh fruit , ice cream , jelly and fried banana.

We need more of these Frurt shops around Manchester! It is simply DELICIOUS and healthy too (well…read morecompared to other desserts for sure). I tend to go for the natural flavour in a medium pot with raspberry's and honey, this costs between £3.50 and £4. Totally worth it. They usually have 4 or so flavours on offer. Today they had natural, peanut butter, match green tea and mango. You can have a little taste before you pick. They have a range of toppings too, ranging from fruit to chocolate and a variety of sauces to top it all off. In addition to the yummy fro-yo they also sell coffee and tea, as well as snacks including delicious protein balls that are vegan and healthy. The customer service has always been 5* in my experience, can't fault the guys that work here. The actual shop is a fairly small unit with about 5 seats inside and a few outside when the weathers nice. To be honest I'm surprised they've got 5 seats in there but they have, and it's comfortable. Most people tend to buy to take away. I also like that they offer a loyalty card, after 3 visits you get a free topping and after 6 you get a free small fro-yo. A must visit.

Now *this* is more like it, Manchester. For eons I've been obsessed with fro-yo, lamenting the fact…read morethat I'd presumably have to hop on a Virgin Train to London to enjoy it freshly made, watching the supermarket freezer shelves like a hawk for the yogurt versions of Ben & Jerry's Phish Food and Fudge Brownie. Want to know a secret? I actually prefer frozen yogurt to ice cream. It's true. It cannot be touched in terms of light, delicious brilliance. So how excited was I when I saw the bright, inviting colours of Frurt on Whitworth Street West, just off Oxford Road round the corner from Cornerhouse? All kinds of. Shortly after spying that I joined my flat-hunting amigo in an estate agents' office two Saturdays ago and picked up a copy of Urban Life to flick through. What did I see but a Frurt advert, noting their opening weekend at the end of July? Oh, now I was even happier. While I didn't make it to their grand sample give-out due to weekend commitments, the hideously cloying weather had me making a beeline for their enticing, clean and fun-looking shop. I couldn't resist. Instantly I was intrigued by the Fruit Parfait, which at £3.50 is one of the best value things on the menu (and they're all great value, believe me). You get your generously scooped and whipped fro-yo, with a choice of four flavours - au naturel, chocolate, strawberry or green tea. As soon as the last one was mentioned I was decided. Then it's topped with granola, a delightful drizzle of honey and your choice of two fruits - for me it had to be strawberry and mango. Off I wandered... and I stopped. I'm so silly for thinking I could eat this on the go. It demands your attention. You have to savour and enjoy it, and I found myself a peaceful spot of street and gave my treat the focus it deserved. And I didn't want it to end. It was almost breakfasty with the granola, fruit and honey, and there are plentiful topping choices if you want to feel a little naughtier. Just know that the base fro-yo is stupendously healthy. Isn't that just awesome? Going to a movie at the Cornerhouse? Grab yourself a cheeky takeaway treat beforehand. They're open until 10pm each day and it's our duty as independent business-loving Mancunians not to let them down. Frurt is one of those specialist places we sorely need in these parts, so let's enjoy it!

City Centre

Now, I'm no stranger to Frozen Yoghurt, and I'm well acquainted with this great city. But, as I…read morewalked through the smoky streets of Manchester this afternoon, I stumbled across something new to me. Froyoberry. A Frozen Yoghurt vendor. Healthy? Yep. Low in calories? Uh huh. Fat free? Yessiree. Thrills me to the chiselled bone. With a variety of flavours and LOADS of toppings to choose from, I asked the staff for some help. On the right side of friendly (rather than that suffocating over-friendliness), and well versed on the combos, they were only too happy to help. I went for the vanilla, teased with lashings of fresh strawberries and granola. Simply divine, as in, 'I never want to close my eyes again kind-of-divine'. Joyous. In fact, not shy when it comes to words, I'd go as far as to describe it as a 'mesmerising symphony of cohesion and excellence.' Just like Mickey Mouse in Fantasia. Mickey brought magic to the mops and buckets. And here, Froyoberry brings magic to the Frozen Yoghurt. They have seating and free Wi-Fi in side, so I was able to kick back, indulge in my Froyo and tweet Samantha Mumba all at the same time. Yes, it's a glowing review. And, deservedly so. As a man who plies his trade in the city, I often spend hours each week wandering around looking for ways to inspire my team. Poetry? Sheer unadulterated rage? Business acumen? Sweets? Not anymore. Instead, next week, I'm ordering Froyoberry. Yeah, you heard me right, they deliver too. That's right Mohammed, the mountain will come to you. How bitchin' is that?! When they told me that, I was like, 'Yeah, boyyyyy'. Totally bitchin'. I hear you say, 'what about other Frozen Yoghurt vendors'? No contest. Froyoberry is the Napoleon of Frozen Yoghurt, pushing aside the papal idiocy of the competition and crowning themselves as Emperor. There wasn't a single second of my visit there that didn't have me cocooned in awe. I called in and fell in love with it instantly in a serious way. Why, it's wonderful - a perfect little place...if you have never been to Froyoberry, go there at once. I'll even give you a piggyback.
