Great place to grab a bite to eat after running after the missus round the Trafford centre.

Thai Kitchen - The place to be for great food

I used to live near this 'restaurant' (actually it is half of a pub) and it actually took me about…read more12 months to try it out as I thought how can a Thai meal be served well in a pub...I was chatting to a friend who said I must try it out. I was sceptical at first, expecting a microwaved meal. How wrong could I be!? We were told on a Tuesday it was curry night - 2 Thai curries with rice for £10. Not bad and not a lot to lose so we tried it out the next Tuesday. We were welcomed by a young man who was very pleasant and he said we can sit anywhere. It has a feel of a pub but this is not a bad thing for an informal bite to eat. The drinks order you have to place at the bar and pay separately as it is 2 separate businesses. This is a strange thing but it doesn't detract from the quality of the food. Also drinks prices are reasonable. The food was served to the table by a lovely woman with a massive smile. The smell as the doors opened from the kitchen was amazing. The presentation was excellent. We hardly spoke whilst eating, it was that good. The penang curry was nice and spicy but full of flavour and the massaman was nice and mild filled with chicken and potatoes. For £10 this place simply cannot be beat on a Tuesday! Even at full prices it is definitely worth it. If you are in early enough you can even get a seat ready for the evening entertainment on a Friday and Saturday which is good if you're into that sort of thing. Don't judge this place for how it looks from the outside as it is an excellent place which deserves to do well.

From the outside it looks basic but when you see the menu and get your food served it's far from basic! Amazing sized portions and just so authentic. We just made it through the starters before indulging into our mains. Little did I expect that my portion would be enough for 3 people instead of myself. Had to box it up and will gladly polish off tomorrow. Can't recommend this place more as it's off the main street, staff and service were so welcoming, serving was quick (albeit it was quiet) and the prices are so cheap! Total package

I'm so glad that this place has received good reviews across the board. Mine won't add much more:…read morethe exterior appearance does it few favours, the interior decor is on the way to feeling like someone's front room, but the food was great. With a couple of other people we went for one of the banquets to experience what they have to offer - I was very happy with everything. My companions felt that the starters were a little disappointing, or at least quite generic and at times lacking flavour. I thought they were great though, because I value variety over quality perhaps! We all liked the soups though, which were packed with chicken and other tasty bits. The we had a selection of mains, from prawns to beer and so on. Tender meat, interesting sauces and fresh ingredients: all fine by me.

We ordered vegetable tempura as part of my family's going away meal, and I ate one of the tempura pieces and through the texture was weird and different. I bit into a second and knew then that something was off. I opened it up and saw prawn. I then opened up the other tempura'ed dumplings by hand. There were also chicken ones as well. It was mostly vegetables, but the fact remains that meat was mixed into this vegetarian dish. It was all good except for that. The reason I'm leaving a terrible review is because we let the restaurant know, and they really didn't seem to understand what was wrong or why this was bad. Nor did they apologise for the fact the order was wrong. Liverpool is big on vegetarian food, and it's 2022. People know what vegetarian means. I didn't want any free stuff or anything, just for them to apologise and promise to do better in the future. I wouldn't even have left this review if they had just apologised and promised to do better in the future. It's not that hard to say sorry for giving someone the wrong item. I ordered something with the expectation it would be vegetarian. It was not.

Granted, it wasn't exactly their busiest time, but they seemed very professional and I'm sure this standard wouldn't slip during rush hour. With the early dining menu, you get to choose a starter and a main from their varied menu for £11.95. One thing I will say though is that I'd like to see more fish dishes on offer at this restaurant. I absolutely love their Gai Satay Chicken as a starter, which is presented with a garnish and special peanut sauce. For my main I went for Pad Gra Tiem with beef, which is basically a stir fry with garlic and black pepper. It was simple yet delicious. Their Pad Thai was very authentic too, the classic dish that I always use as a benchmark in great Thai cuisine.
