Then, looking at the menu, the food doesn't come with rice or noodle, and they charge a whopping 2.95 pounds for plain jasmine rice. I was like -.- But DANG their food is amazing! I was completely blown away. Possibly the best Thai food I've ever had outside of Thailand. Who would have thought a restaurant in a little English village would be one of the best Thai food experiences I've ever had. We got the chicken Phad Krapow and the land stir fry. It's located upstairs, on the second level of the garden centre, and once you step inside you forget all about the fact that they sell plants downstairs. Staff are all Thai-speaking (as well as English, of course), and the food you get at Thip is the real thing, wonderful authentic dishes with all the flavours you expect Thai food to have. They don't skimp on the spicy heat, either, which is something I've found Asian restaurants in the UK tend to do. But if you'd prefer something milder they're happy to comply by producing milder tasting dishes. I love this place, it's so relaxing and calming, and the food is absolutely out of this world.

It has a feel of a pub but this is not a bad thing for an informal bite to eat. The drinks order you have to place at the bar and pay separately as it is 2 separate businesses. This is a strange thing but it doesn't detract from the quality of the food. Also drinks prices are reasonable. The food was served to the table by a lovely woman with a massive smile. The smell as the doors opened from the kitchen was amazing. The presentation was excellent. We hardly spoke whilst eating, it was that good. The penang curry was nice and spicy but full of flavour and the massaman was nice and mild filled with chicken and potatoes. For £10 this place simply cannot be beat on a Tuesday! Even at full prices it is definitely worth it. If you are in early enough you can even get a seat ready for the evening entertainment on a Friday and Saturday which is good if you're into that sort of thing. The coating didn't stick very well to it but still very tasty . For mains my partner chose pineapple rice with prawns, myself yellow curry with crispy sea bass, my sister the chicken green Thai curry and my father the jungle curry . Despite the heavy-handed turmeric in the rice this was the closest thing we've had to pineapple rice since our Thailand trip . Was really fresh and tasty . My yellow curry was divine with perfectly cooked sea bass. Both my dad and sisters meal also looked fabulous! At the end they had remembered my dads birthday and brought out a candlelit dessert. Its always quiet during the week but gets busy at weekends. They also do take out and delivery so thats very popular. The food looked that good when it arrived we tucked straight in and I forgot to take photos until the end. I ordered Thai yellow curry with steamed white rice. My mum ordered beef stirfry with was very spicy.
