Every other part of this review is a full-on warning about the new management company, Bluebonnet Events, and how their mismanagement, poor communication, and disregard for agreements ruined our wedding day. When our original venue canceled with less than six months to go, The Gardens felt like a blessing--it was stunning, close by, and run by kind, professional people who truly cared. We worked with Vickie, who was everything a bride could hope for: responsive, flexible, and understanding. She helped us stay within budget and even got approval from the owner to use our own caterer and self-serve setup, which we had already paid for elsewhere. Everything was perfect--until three weeks before our wedding, when I received an unexpected email from Amanda at Bluebonnet Events, introducing themselves as the new management and informing me they would now be my only point of contact. The email claimed all existing agreements would be honored--that turned out to be false. Within days, they demanded an additional $600 for security, which was already included and paid for, and also a cleanup crew, which had been previously approved to not have. When I challenged the charges and showed proof, they removed the fee for the security but insisted that our catering approval was invalid since it wasn't in writing. Despite our prior verbal approval directly from the owner, we were forced to pay another $400 for their cleanup crew, just weeks before the wedding. They knew we had no choice at that point--they had us cornered. Then came the wedding day itself, which should have been joyful and stress-free. Instead, Amanda interrupted us ladies while we were getting ready to complain about parking (for cars that weren't even ours). Then a "day-of-coordinator" appeared, also interrupting me getting ready, even though I had been told that a day of coordinator would not be provided unless we paid extra. I was happy to have this help, but unfortunately she didn't follow my instructions at all. She was either unaware of or completely ignored my plan to walk down the flat, accessible pathway to the aisle and forced me, in heels and a ballgown, and my uncle, who was escorting me and should not be going up or down stairs, to climb down a steep set of stairs and an uneven set of rocks they considered stairs. It was awkward, unsafe, and humiliating. The ceremony itself was lovely thanks to our family and vendors--but the reception quickly became chaos. From the moment we walked in, we were rushed nonstop. It made no sense until later, when my husband explained to me that he was told that "by contract," the event had to end at 9 p.m. or we'd need to pay another $400 to continue--even though our signed contract clearly stated we had the venue until 11 p.m. By then, we were exhausted and out of options. The staff began pushing guests out early, ruining our last dance and cutting short the night we'd dreamed of for years. We had definitive plans to pack any leftovers to bring home to our house, but we were so rushed (as if we were expected to not only end the wedding at 9 but also have all cleanup done at 9 as well) that we didn't even get to do that. We just had let one of the vendors take it, which in hindsight was probably close to several hundred dollars' worth of food. When we looked back at the contract later, our suspicions were confirmed: management had simply scheduled their crew until 9 p.m. and tried to pressure us into paying more so they could leave early. Our guests felt uncomfortable, our timeline was destroyed, and one of the happiest nights of our lives now carries a permanent stain. In short--the venue is beautiful, but the new management is absolutely not trustworthy. If you're considering this venue, I strongly urge you to verify every detail in writing and triple check who you're dealing with.

The bride's house was a really nice touch and a great place for my bridesmaids and I to get ready before the wedding. Everyone had an amazing time and I'd highly recommend this venue for weddings! Also, I'd highly recommend going with Thirsty Bear Bartending, the preferred bartending service for The Gardens At Old Town Helotes. The bar was full all night!

The place itself was huge and big enough to fit a big crowd. I really liked how the outside looked. They have lights hanging on the trees so I could imagine how it would look at night (beautiful I believe). They kept the garden and lawn nice and I didnt see any trash laying around. The inside looked good too. They had a huge reception room full of tables which was also nicely decorated. I liked that the center piece was a boot (very Texan). There was another big room where they set up a play area for everyone. They had bounce house, people to face paint, do ballons, draw, and even play games like corn hole. The staff was all very friendly and helpful. They made sure people were good and mainly picked up our trash throughout the event. The food itself was alright. They served nachos with cheese and liked the chips. The beef fajitas were ok and the chicken fajitas had a bit more flavor. It helped I had salsa, guacamole, pice and jalapeño on the side. The rice and beans were decent enough. There was also a guy in the room that set up all kinds of games throughout the event that had us complete with each other for prizes (including money) and even though I didn't win, I still enjoyed myself. Overall a good experience.

We truly enjoyed the delicious BBQ prepared by Chef Ceasar Zepeda and his team. The Brisket Fried Rice stood out for sure. The various combined flavors and textures made this dish an absolute winner. Our VIP access also provided unlimited drinks and special seating for the Rodeo, which set the tone for the whole evening. There's just something about wearing your felt cowboy hat under the Hill Country stars, with a beer in hand and lady on your arm while watching the intensity and energy of the Rodeo. Shout out to the Nick Lawrence band for closing the night with an unforgettable set that packed the dance floor. The dance hall at Pedrotti's is top notch and has fantastic sound and lighting to keep the energy going. It's the perfect venue for any event. This was our second year attending this event and will most definitely not be our last. I highly suggest you join us next year for the 6th annual Fall Fest at Pedrotti's Ranch in Helotes, TX. Oh, and be sure to bring your cowboy hat and boots. See you there!

My husband, Phil, and I waited for 3 years for this wedding because of COVID. At first, it was going to be at Wedgewood Brittany Hill in CO, then it got cancelled because of COVID, then Wedgewood Carmel in CA when things started to reopen, and finally we moved it to Hofmann Ranch because my mom is struggling with complications from her double knee replacement surgeries that were postponed because of COVID and she couldn't fly to CA. The day before our wedding, Southwest cancelled Phil's best man's and his wife's flights, Phil's cousins' flights, and my friend's flights and my uncle had to drive all the way from San Diego the day before the wedding. We were beyond worried and devastated. Because of the Hofmann Ranch team, we felt so secure and so loved and our families and friends were able to meet each other for the first time and connect with each other. Britney thought of everything: making sure that my mom had a place to sit so that she could march with me halfway down the path of the patio deck, she held onto my train, she made a water color Phannie drink sign that was gorgeous, she made sure that we ate, she thought of every single detail and schedule change when our families kept talking and singing (this is what happens when you get a whole bunch of Filipinos together LOL), she made sure that Phil and I ate food, and there are countless other things that I am sure that we don't know about. Giving Britney my bouquet was the only way that I could say how grateful I was for creating a magical place and experience in spite of all the obstacles. Phil and I are so thrilled and feel like we were destined to be married at Hofmann Ranch. You have a special place in our hearts. I hope that your mother liked the bouquet. This is what giving it to you means to me.  We would like to express our love and gratitude to Britney, Sara, Chef Daniel, Mark, Joey, Josh, and the Limelight Photography team. Each of you made our day absolutely wonderful. Additionally, Cynthia's cake design and William's flowers were beautiful! I think that anyone who is getting married needs to go to Hofmann Ranch and that Britney and her team need to do their weddings! Thank you to everyone else that we communicated with at Wedgewood over the years and in the months leading up to our celebration. Creating a beautiful experience where our families and friends could meet for the first time and have fun was truly a gift. Have a wonderful New Year and thank you so much for an unforgettable experience. Each of you are a true blessing. May God bless you and your family always and may the Force be with you! With much love and gratitude, Phil and Annie #phannie2020
