Place is no longer open, but was good while it lasted, restaurants just don't make it very long in that spot.

Very clean place, wide variety of food and is better run than the last owner. Would recommend.

I filled up on $6 enchiladas and a yummy frozen margarita! Ask for the salsa Verde! A little extra flavor and heat! Waiter was super friendly and easy on the eyes. (If you're a tourist on the bourbon trail, make your reservation for the 1-hr tour - or at least pop into the welcome center - at the ISC Kentucky Cooperage in the same strip mall! They make all of the barrels for 90% of Kentucky's bourbon! Huge, impressive operation!)

Located in a strip mall, it isn't much to look at on the outside. The inside isn't too different; however, we went there to eat, not to critique architecture. We had great service throughout our visit. The complimentary chips and salsa were refilled several times for our party. After we received our orders, the staff was good about checking to see if we needed anything else. Personally, I had the Chili Colorado meal. Of our party of six, I was the only one not entirely satisfied with my order. The beef was cut very thin, was overcooked and the sauce had been poured on the top of the overcooked meat. It didn't taste bad; it was just poorly prepared. Looking at the plates my dining partners had (pork verde, smothered chicken, fajitas) made me wish for a redo on my order. The prices for the meals and drinks were reasonable. Based on how packed it was, many locals obviously enjoy it (another local Mexican restaurant was open but empty). If I were to return to the area, I'd probably give it another shot.

La Villa Rica Cuisine - Don't be fooled by this ugly boring exterior. And if you see that food truck on the road, follow it.

Anyhow, it's white people taco night food. Steak fajitas were fine--steak was underseasoned and a bit chewy, but peppers, guac, and pico were relatively fresh. Tortillas were soft, rice and beans were lukewarm and nothing special. Food came out extremely fast, and I appreciated the big portions after a long day of hiking. Deep fried ice cream wasn't my favorite but maybe it's just not my thing.

There was a covered portion, but we stayed in the sun to stay warm in the cool spring air. The server sat us immediately and brought us complimentary fresh chips and salsa. We were starving, so we gobbled them up while flipping through the extensive menu. The servers brought us extra chips and salsa while we waited for our food and drinks. I ordered a chicken quesadilla and two steak tacos off the à la carte lunch menu (until 3pm daily). There was a $0.99 upcharge each for grilled vs shredded chicken and carne asada vs ground beef, and it was totally worth it. My daughter ordered two grilled chicken quesadillas as well. And our friends ordered beef nachos and a fajita platter. All of it was delicious, with large portions. I had a couple of house margaritas, which were tasty and a steal at just $5.50 each. My only complaints were that the queso dip was rather small and not worth the $5, and (like most places) they charge way too much for a soda ($3.25). The service was excellent. Our server Juan was friendly and very attentive, and several others checked in on us throughout our meal to ensure we were taken care. I'll definitely be back the next time I visit Cave City, Hidden River Cave, or Kentucky Down Under.

As with almost all Mexican restaurants, we were greeted with a wonderful smile and seeded almost immediately. The dining room was very festive. The chairs have scenes of Mexico painted on them and everything is very, very colorful. We were served large portions of food that was delicious. I was pleasantly surprised to have such flavorful Mexican food in this small town in Kentucky.

After being away for six months, we returned for dinner and were amazed that our waiter remembered our favorite meals, drinks, and even our usual menu preferences. That level of personal attention truly impressed us and reinforced why this restaurant stands out. The restaurant is also very kid-friendly, which makes it an easy choice for family outings. We always enjoy the background music, and the covered outdoor patio seating is a great place to relax and enjoy a meal. For me, it's this kind of exceptional service and welcoming atmosphere that transforms a great restaurant into an exceptional one. We always enjoy dining here and look forward to many more visits.

Chips are standard and hiuse salsa is underwhelming. Ask for the spicy - that has a proper jalapeño punch to it. Well worth the sweat beads on your forehead. Wife and I got enchiladas - beef and cheese - and the wee ones got beef tacos. So here's my review: the food is 3-stars, the service 5-stars, and the potential is solid 4-stars. While the enchilada sauce was very good, the Kroger-esque ground beef was meh. The cheese enchiladas were very good, but mozzarella cheese on the tacos was just ... not Mexican. Post-COVID, restaurants like this are paying premium food costs for sub par products, so I get it. Charge more, reduce portions, expect patience from clients until this reopening evens out. I see this place rising above its remote, out-of-downtown Bardstown location if it survives 2021. We'd like to come back here, but I hope they add some Vicente Fernandez or Los Bukis on the speakers, and lose the honky salsa. We'd gladly pay more than these rock bottom prices if it kept a good Mex place open. I like Mi Lindo. I hope i like it better next month when we try it again.
