    Burritos de Carnitas
    Sue F.

Thank goodness first impressions aren't everything. Shortly after being seated, we were served the requisite chips and salsa. The chips were just ok but the salsa was pitiful. It tasted like someone opened a can of tomato sauce and poured it into a bowl. The "hot" salsa was no better - tomato sauce with a little hot sauce mixed in. Luckily things got better, much better. We order the burrito de carnitas to share. We were served an extra large burrito absolutely STUFFED with delicious, tender, juicy pork. The burrito was covered in a mild green sauce and served with a mound of lettuce, guacamole and red ripe tomatoes. I really could have eaten a little more but if we had had chips and salsa accompanying the burrito, it definitely would have been more than enough. The parking lot looked full but the restaurant is very large and we were seated immediately. Service was quick though not overly attentive. We stumbled upon El Acapulco by accident. I would go back for the burrito Dr carnitas but this time with no expectations for the chips and salsa.

The food is good. Service is good, friendly, and fast. This place is always busy so you know it's good. My wife and I tried a few different dishes and they are always good. The burrito California is awesome.

When we have a hankering for Mexican food, El Acapulco is one of our favorite places to go. My family staple entrée is the Chori Pollo. It's cheesy with a good helping of chicken and chorizo mixed with rice. It always made right and delicious. I venture off and tried something new. The Gallo Feliz was packing the heat. Chicken, pineapple and jalapeño with the seeds still intact grilled up and served with rice and guacamole salad/pico. The pineapple absorbed some of the heat from the jalapeño giving it a since sweet heat and the chicken was well seasoned. The jalapeño were just the right amount of heat. The rice and guacamole salad helped cool down along with the side of avocado slices. I definitely should have order some tortillas maybe next time. If you want to turn up the heat the server said they can make it with Serrano peppers as well. For me likely the jalapeño peppers were hot enough.

The only thing I liked was my skinny margarita. Otherwise, I thought the food was mediocre at best. I found a hair in my grilled chicken quesadilla. They did replace it with a shredded chicken quesadilla (I didn't complain that they fixed it... and messed up yet again). Also thought it was expensive - for two meals and two margaritas, our bill was over $60. I wouldn't go back and can't understand why they have decent reviews.

Great atmosphere , food is awesome . Staff is very attentive and courteous from entering till leaving.

You can't throw a stone in Elizabethtown without hitting a Mexican restaurant. This is my favorite one. I love the salsa and crispy chips. The staff are friendly and attentive. The chunky guacamole is delicious, bright, and flavorful. I like the enchiladas mexicanas, chicken nachos, and tamale. Any time I visit family, I stop by El Acapulco.

They have the bar area separate with karaoke along with a smoking patio at the back side. Good oldies music was playing in the background too. The service was a little slow but given how busy they were that is understandable . The food was very flavorful and delicious. The steak, chicken and shrimp was so flavorful and fresh, so fresh in fact I got juice from the green pepper on my face when I cut into it. The onions and shrimp were cooked perfectly! I love a colorful dish and as you can see from the picture the dinner was very colorful. Even though we all handed different receipts and credit cards for the dinner tab the waitress charged all the dinners on my bf's card! I understand with it being busy and all but if we handed all different receipts and cards how can you mess that up??? The waitress realized once she came back to the table and did get it corrected. Street tacos, empanadas, quesadillas Tortas, burritos and tamales- I think that is the whole menu. No Tex mex, no chimichangas, no Speedy Gonzalez special- this is more authentic. In fact, the waitress/cashier was the only other person in the building that spoke ANY English- including other patrons. Is this fancy? Nope. Is it clean? Yup. The shrimp street tacos were the best food in our opinion- tied with the chips and salsa. Also had carne asada and chorizo tacos and Burria empanadas and the shrimp was the best. Entire restaurant and bathrooms are handicap accessible, but this place is not right next to parking. It is in a little outdoor mall area, at the back, so you'll need to park and go maybe 100-150 yards to the door. If you need fried ice cream and a mariachi band, you need to stop elsewhere, but if you are looking for good quality, authentic food for a really reasonable price- this is it.
