They have pet friendly units, (we had one), and lots of grass nearby for our dogs, which is important. I wish our neighbors (who were only in for a couple nights) didn't feed the birds, they swarmed, and I HATED it. And like with anything, we had elephants in the unit above us, but for our unit itself, it was great. We've stayed at Island Place before and we were concerned after the hurricane, but no issues. They are still working on many of the units, trying to get them back in service, and lots of fixing, painting, and just doing, to get it ready. I do wish they would replace the grills (we couldn't use them they were filthy). Overall, it's well worth the price, and Cedar Key is so walkable, and all the restaurants we went to were very good about take out (again we have dogs)!

On weekends in particular there was a succession of customers renting and returning carts. This caused the three dogs that live there to bark. Pros: Nice view of the park and the water. Close to Dock Street where most of the Cedar Key activity takes place, if you like that. Washer and dryer available in townhouse. Spacious vanity in first floor bath. Nice second floor deck. Cons: When we arrived we were told that the plug on the only lamp in the living room was broken and that the agent would bring a plug for my husband to repair it on Wednesday. We arrived on Sat. The part arrived Thursday. The rental business and 3 barking dogs next door. Uncomfortable, too soft leather furniture in living room. Dust covered mantel. The most basic cable lineup available. Drafty windows leaking cold air (we stuffed rags in them to stop some leakage). Kitchen linens consisting of two dish rags, one of which was badly stained and looked like a rag. Two dishtowels, one with a large hole! (Agent did, at our request, purchase new kitchen linens.) Stove hood was covered with dust and grease and walls surrounding were also splattered with food. Coffeemaker was broken. Utensil drawers were dirty with debris ( We washed all utensils before using). Bath towels smelled like they had been used to bathe a dog! Second floor bath faucet handle broken and shower head leaking (Agent called a handy man to repair). Toilets (both) flush sluggishly. Both shower curtain liners moldy. Shower caddy in first floor shower rusted. Master bedroom bed is queen size made up with king size miss-matched sheets and yet blankets were too small (?). Bedspread with multiple stains. Recliner cover stained and worn out. TV located wayyyy across the room too small for viewing. Shelf on which it sat was covered with dust and dust coated the artificial foliage there as well. Laundry closet held a book shelf which was covered with dirt. An old area rug was rolled up and stuffed in the closet obstructing use of the facilities. No cleaning supplies provided in case you would care to clean the place while staying there of a month. Two rolls of toilet paper provided. No bath soap provided. Lots of dust covered chotskies. There is obviously no pride taken in this place. Very disappointing. Have photos of property

Before booking I messaged the host and told her I was traveling with 3 golden retrievers. She said…read moreto go ahead and book and never mentioned additional fees. Hours after check in I received a rude message that I was 1 dog over and was billed another $30. Which honestly I would not have had a problem with paying a pet fee but the rude message was unacceptable. At that point I felt unwelcome and I felt I was being accused of being deceitful which I clearly was not. I did not sleep well because I was upset and frankly it ruined our stay. We left in the morning and the office was not open and the host has not replied to my multiple messages. I do not feel it is right that a host can charge hidden fees after check in and ruin someone's stay. Then lied when I made a complaint to Vrbo that she let me know of the fee by phone which is completely untrue. The unit was small and the property is not well kept. The parking is fine for small vehicles and the balcony is on a busy and noisy road across the street from the park- little to no privacy. Very over priced for what you get.

Quick off season visit. Cutely decorated, very room efficiency condo, right across from the park…read moreand shore. Good wifi, nearly full kitchen (no oven), but simply equipped with good dining area. A perfect spot to spend a week and enjoy the cute town and beach. Boat tours and some dining is an easy walk. Much of town is still in recovery from hurricane, but everybody we met was nice and chatty. Simple bathroom, nice balcony with alcove for looking into the park and out to the open water. Nice TV, decent bed and bedding, about right for the money and a classic Florida stay. Shop big before coming to town, not a lot of shopping options or restaurants close by, so safe to rely on your convient kitchen.
