I was driving from Nashville to Cincinnati and picked Frankfort as a place to get out of the car and walk for an hour. Not one to resist a craft store, I decided I could pop in for a minute or two. I perused the store for over an hour and left with $400 worth of merchandise. Completely Kentucky is, in my opinion, the best crafts store in the US. This is not a store where you go to "get a deal." The merchandise is priced so the artists can be decently compensated and the store can keep its lights on. That means not cheap. But coming from the left coast, I thought the prices were very reasonable. When it comes to wood and clay crafts, Kentucky knocks it out of the park. But this store features artists working in every manner of medium. Their commitment to providing a spot to as many Kentucky artists and crafts people as possible is impressive. I love this store. The day after I discovered them I started saving for my next visit. My goal is the have minimum $1000 to spend and to also bring along an empty suitcase so I can get all my loot back home. :)

I have taken some snapshots of a couple of the booths so that you can get a sense of the style of the store and some of the items available. I like just to walk around and see what they have without having anything in particular that I am looking to purchase. They have all sorts of vintage wares such as jewelry, some furniture, pictures, and several vintage clothing booths. All in all makes a nice shopping stop!

So, I raced over Sunday morning and found the photo and then found myself browsing what turned out to be a great antique store for the first time. Get in there if you haven't been! They have everything from childhood photos of my brother to an English Springer Spaniel art serving tray, to two vintage novelty neckties (Christmas theme and New York City theme). Or at least that's what followed me home! Brother Ned, if you're reading this...just know that if your boyhood photo ends up in an antique store, you just might be an antique yourself!!

If you're an antiques collector, or looking for something very specific, it's possible you could find it here; but, for me, this is just a spot to look around. I spent some time exploring this shop one afternoon, and I came across many interesting things. Nothing I needed, but interesting nonetheless. This shop, like many other antique shops, houses loads of old items scattered across multiple floors. Whether you're looking for books, toys, clothing, luggage, accessories, home decor, dishes, furniture (you get it.. the list goes on and on..), you can likely find it here. Or, at least spend some time exploring!

It's my number one shop in Lexington, and probably my number one shop. Period. They have a huge inventory that changes daily and an amazing Instagram feed full of good finds (act quickly, sometimes things sell in seconds). You can visit over and over and will always see something new. This is high level stuff, and the prices reflect that, but there are also many modestly priced pieces, and everything is fairly priced. Jeff and his crew, as well as the other dealers, really have an eye for design. I can't recommend this place enough, over and over.

There are 2 basements one directly behind the checkout counter & another towards the right of the store. I am the type of shopper that needs to look at each & everything, & glad that I had because there were great finds!! The prices obviously vary depending on each booth owner, but it seems like a lot of the booths upstairs were pretty pricey! My favorite booth was one in the basement deep inside where there's a garage door, it was gothic & had a lot of cute items & blind books, I even said to my partner I could be friends with whoever owned it! I would love to go again!
