If you're an antiques collector, or looking for something very specific, it's possible you could find it here; but, for me, this is just a spot to look around. I spent some time exploring this shop one afternoon, and I came across many interesting things. Nothing I needed, but interesting nonetheless. This shop, like many other antique shops, houses loads of old items scattered across multiple floors. Whether you're looking for books, toys, clothing, luggage, accessories, home decor, dishes, furniture (you get it.. the list goes on and on..), you can likely find it here. Or, at least spend some time exploring!

Sam and the other vendors always make sure the place is bright, engaging, and fun. They are very intentional about making cool and eye catching displays to enjoy as you shop. They have weird garage sale type finds (I impulse bought a velvet cat painting), midcentury modern furniture in great shape, vintage threads, designer brands like Louis Vuitton. They have books, other artwork, knickknacks and tchotchkes, anything you can imagine. And prices are still great!

Not only is Completely Kentucky a reason to visit Frankfort, it's a reason to visit Kentucky! I…read morehappened on this store on accident. I was driving from Nashville to Cincinnati and picked Frankfort as a place to get out of the car and walk for an hour. Not one to resist a craft store, I decided I could pop in for a minute or two. I perused the store for over an hour and left with $400 worth of merchandise. Completely Kentucky is, in my opinion, the best crafts store in the US. This is not a store where you go to "get a deal." The merchandise is priced so the artists can be decently compensated and the store can keep its lights on. That means not cheap. But coming from the left coast, I thought the prices were very reasonable. When it comes to wood and clay crafts, Kentucky knocks it out of the park. But this store features artists working in every manner of medium. Their commitment to providing a spot to as many Kentucky artists and crafts people as possible is impressive. I love this store. The day after I discovered them I started saving for my next visit. My goal is the have minimum $1000 to spend and to also bring along an empty suitcase so I can get all my loot back home. :)

Green Tree is an antique shop and tea room in a historic district of Lexington that offers a noon luncheon Wednesday through Saturday. On the day we visited, they were packed with parties of all sizes from duos to a group of 13. Everyone has the same menu which changes each month and is published on their website. The tables were covered in crisp linens and accented with fresh flowers and pretty flatware and dishes. For $19.95, you get a soup, a homemade scone, a specialty entree (petite portion), finger sandwiches, and sweets. And, there's a seasonal, hot tea. May's menu started with a delicious, cold strawberry soup. It was like strawberries and cream in a bowl. Next was a fresh from the oven, cream scone with lemon curd and Lafayette cream. I had high expectations for the asparagus crepe with moray sauce after thirst two dishes. Sadly, the crepe contained room temperature rice and veg. The moray was excellent but the entree would have been better warm. The finger sandwiches served in a buffet included shrimp toast, cucumber rounds, and egg salad sandwiches. All were delicious. The desserts - dark chocolate mousse, strawberry wafer cookies, and mini coconut cupcakes were a terrific finale.
