I love this store! It's a little pricey. But that's what you get when it's locally, hand made! It's a great location as well!

There were ladies cleaning the outside windows at the log cabin. The staff were very friendly, helpful, and seemed to like their jobs. They allow dogs on the property and inside when making a purchase/taste testing. They gave our dogs treats and the staff welcomed them in. The property is beautiful and great to take dogs on a walk. I could've stayed there sampling all day. Unfortunately, we didn't have time for a full tour, but the tasting experience more than made up for it. The line into the gift shop was a little long (as expected at a popular spot), but it was well organized and moved quickly. The staff was friendly and helpful throughout. I ended up leaving with several excellent bottles to haul back to California--definitely worth the drive and the extra weight in the car! If you're a bourbon fan, Buffalo Trace is a must-stop. Great atmosphere, fantastic products, and solid operations even on a busy day. We'll be back next time we're in Kentucky! Highly recommended. Cheers!

The store mainly had women's items, with only a small men's section, but he was lucky to find a few nice pieces. The reason for my 2-star rating is the overall shopping experience. The first time my student shopped here, the owner apparently gave him a deal -- something he didn't even know about until it was brought up during this visit. My student wanted to return because he believed the items were quality and reasonably priced. This time, for 5 items, the total came to $306. There was no breakdown or clear explanation of each item's price, and extra "tariff" charges were randomly added. I'm doubtful the exact tariff costs were known for each product, especially since they come from various vendors. The owner also mentioned he took a $100+ loss on my student's last purchase -- which felt unprofessional to bring up and created an awkward tone during checkout. To be clear, the price itself was never the issue -- I could afford the items and purchased them for my student. What left a bad taste was the principle: the lack of transparency, the shifting prices, and the way the business interaction was handled. Instead of feeling good about supporting a local business, we left feeling taken advantage of. For the value and quality of the items, the prices simply did not match up, and the experience overall was not welcoming or trustworthy.

One of the booths was Boone Creek Creamery. Since I love cheese, I had to indulge and buy myself some! I love hot and spicy, so two of the flavors I got were "Sassy" (Sharp Cheddar with peppercorn and red pepper) and "Habanero" (Sharp White Cheddar with Habanero Peppers). Sassy was unexpectedly wonderful. Rather than hitting the tongue with heat, the heat was more in the back of the mouth and throat and lingered. No too much, but not too little either. Delicious. The Habanero on the other hand, exploded with heat from the initial bite. This one didn't hold back, it was full-on HOT! Way too often things that advertise Habanero try to be delicate... this cheese was not delicate in any way. It was HAWT!! And I'm a huge fan!! My third block is Blueberry White Cheddar. I haven't had any of it yet, but I have no doubt it will be epic! This was such a pleasant unexpected find. If you are in Lexington and like cheese... check them out. You won't be disappointed!!
